1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v11.9 (Windows/Linux) on: October 22, 2018, 02:35:56 AM
Hi guys,

Which driver version is good for windows 10, v.1809. I have a rig with 6 RX580. Thank you. sorry if the question was asked before. I havent checked the topic for 7-8 months.
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v10.1 (Windows/Linux) on: November 05, 2017, 04:43:01 AM
I don't get the point of people mentioning again and again about using 17.11.1 with FCU and how that has problems!

All drivers 17.11.1 - 17.10.2 - 17.10.3 HAVE SERIOUS PROBLEMS.
Sometimes Compute mode is not turning on, sometimes it turns on but crashes and Afterburner support is broken.

GET OVER IT and install Beta Blockchain Driver 23 August and enjoy using AB, Claymore etc in FCU no problem!

Do you care for release notes with official support but in practise BROKEN drivers??

or

You prefer to use the BETA "unofficially" and have a working miner??

Blockchain driver did not work with windows 10 FCU for me. I would loose 5 Mh/s per card for RX580 rig with FCT and blockchain driver combination and the system is not stable either. I have one rig upgraded to FCU and I had to use 17.11.1 to keep the same hash rate. I don't really like the upgrade because I cannot use AB and the fan setting is not working properly. we are talking about days and weeks long run without restarting the rig not reinstall windows or driver every one or two days because you would lose 20-30% of your income if keep doing that.

For now I can say that FCU + 17.10.3 seems to work well compared to all drivers tested previously.
Unfortunately for me OC with claymore does not work: win 10 bluescreen, video TDR error.
I have to use OverdriveNTool for my MSI 580 gaming X and wattman for my ASUS R9 280x on same rig.

Are you using v10 or v10.1?

I'm using the former and it is working flawlessly on 8 of my Nitros.

is the fan control working for you. I use the same combination FCU + 17.10.3 + v10.0 and one of my cards the fan just starts and stops randomly even though I set the minimal speed to be 1000 rpm in wattman. Another problem is the fan and temp settings in wattman would reset to default values if I restart the rig. It is weird because only one out of six cards showed the fan start/stop symptom.

Can someone help me explain the difference between these timing straps for Samsung memory for RX580.

Are they exchangeable and is there any risk in using them for different card's vendors supposedly the cards all use Samsung memory . Thank you

I use the highlighted strap for my Samsung cards if that helps.

The highlighted strap did not work for the Powercolor golden devil RX580 8gb. I tried to copy that strap over the 1750 and 2000 of the first timing bands and 1750-2000-2250 of the second bands but the card give me the blue screen at 1050-2100 core and mem speed. Using a different rom, this card currently gives me 29.1 Mh/s on ether solo with some memory errors. Can you take a look at the rom and improve it further. it is the best if it can run at 2150 or 2200 without  memory errors. Thank you

@notbatman
hey, am really not pulling your leg. I have nothing but respect for you and your work.
Are you saying gpu-z is wrong when reporting that my card has hynix mem instead of the samsung?
why do you find it hard to believe the card exists?

I also noticed this from your earlier posting:
GV-RX580XTRAORUS-8GD/F2/0540 (C) 1988-2010, Advanced Micro Devices, Inc.
My card has this from your latest posting:
GV-RX580AORUS-8GD/F4/0529 (C) 1988-2010, Advanced Micro Devices, Inc.

Notice, no XTR? could mean they used hynix mems.

@whatomine
glad to finally find someone with the same card! I will try to lower voltages just like your bios.
can you please share your original bios and your modified bios just in case I screw up?
Whats your ambient temp? What card temps are you getting at 117W?
To be clear, voltages are set at card bios? you are not undervolting via trixx? or undervolt via MSI AB?
what settings did you set in MSI AB? just fans? or core and mem clock?
what settings did you set in claymore?
Are you on win10pro?
Are you using the latest blockchain drivers?
What version of MSI AB are you using?

thanks.

Hi, I'm sorry for the late reply. In the zar file you will find the original and the two modded roms. The rom that I'm currently using is the one ended with 900mV. I'm using Win10 pro(not activated), claymore 10.0, AMD blockchain driver Aug 23rd, and MSI AB beta 16. Both core and mem voltages of my card are set in the bat file. I'm using MSI AB only to set the fan speed because I found Claymore somehow ignore all of the fan setting I put it in the bat file. One trick for the fan setting with AB is to unsyn all card setting and set each of them to the default mem-core speed then apply the fan-speed one by one. My card runs about 59-61C- 29.2 Mh/s at 1150-2050 settings and it draws 117W dual-mining and 86W ether only. Your card may run hotter because i'm from Illinois and it is pretty cool this time of the year.

I still need help with my poorly performing Aorus rx580 8g hynix card

Here is gpuz info:

Original bios loaded into PBEv1.6.2:

Actual original bios file:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8S6GVg5txr5ZngzLS1WeTM1dE0/view

Hardware: Intel G3930, asrock fatal1ty gaming k4, 4GB DDR4, 4x1060,2x1070, 1xpciex1-4xpciex1 expander
OS: fully patched win10 pro
drivers:latest amd block chain drivers+atikmdag patch and latest nvidia drivers.
utilities: MSI AB beta 19 and sapphire trixx

Current modified bios using one click timing patch and reduced memory voltage:

Current performance with claymore10:

current observed behavior:
when core clock is increased to 1000 and core voltage is offset down to 925mV(anything lower hangs)
hashrate becomes 27MH/s which is still below expected 29-30MH/s and temps become uncontrollable and eventually climbs to 79C even with fans at 80%

when mem clock is increased to 2040 at either 1000mv or 900mv, the system hangs as soon as mining starts.

I hope you guys can help me. Let me know if any details are still missing.

I have the same card and it is running at 29 Mh/s ETC + 800Mh/s LBC dual mining. My settings: 1150 + 2050 and 870mV for both mem and core voltages. The card draws 117 Watts reading from GPU-Z. The only difference in the rom that i'm using is the 750 mV  was set for 300 Mhz instead of 800 mV as in your rom. The card does get lots of memory errors if running above 2050 mem-clock. Also, all of the setting was set in claymore and the fan speed was set to 50% using afterburner.

Hi guys,

I have some new rig 470/480/570/580 (about 10). Some of them are working great and stable, others not.

GPU0 t=77C fan=80%, GPU1 t=76C fan=79%, GPU2 t=81C fan=79%, GPU3 t=69C fan=78%, GPU4 t=69C fan=79%, GPU5 t=78C fan=78%
ETH: 10/10/17-11:10:50 - New job from exp.epool.xyz:3333
ETH - Total Speed: 148.773 Mh/s, Total Shares: 3942, Rejected: 0, Time: 14:26
ETH: GPU0 23.809 Mh/s, GPU1 29.829 Mh/s, GPU2 30.169 Mh/s, GPU3 12.744 Mh/s, GPU4 22.027 Mh/s, GPU5 30.196 Mh/s

As you can see, this is a rig with 6 Rx580 (exactly the same: manufactor, memory type..) with modded bios. GPU 1,2,5 work fine, but GPU 0,3,4 is not, they never reach other's speed (100% gpu usage, the same core/memory clock in GPU-Z) except the begining of mining (when I start the miner, the fist hashrate of them usually great, then drop rapidly after 2 or 3 times showing speed )and I really have no idea about this problems.

This problem also happen with the 470/480/570/580 rig, sometime only 1 low-speed GPU, sometime 3-4 GPUs, with any GPU driver I can get (the original CD driver or the fix dag beta or the newest driver on website), with claymore miner 9.7, 9.7 or 10. These rigs have differrent mainboard, CPU too. Note that all GPU I have tested on my main desktop and got all great hashrate.

After a little bit searching, I found that somebody have similar problem on win10 with very low hashrate (~2-3Mh/s) and solved when install win7, but I dont think it's the root cause so I raise them here to get some discussion (and I dont want to run it on win7 too).

I using win10 64bit, 4GB RAM, ~20GB virtual memory.

Thanks for your help.

I had the same problem when I used one sata cable to power 3 cards, especially during dual-mining. Each sata cable should only power 2 cards even though they have 3 outputs. Also, set your PCIe speed to gen2 or even gen1 helps. I have two rigs each with 6 RX580 cards and they all get ~ 176 Mh/s Ether and 500 Mh/s LBC. Both run on windows 10 with the latest blockchain driver (Aug 23rd).

Does anyone know the number of shares/h per Mh/s we should get when mining on Nanopool ? My calculated hash rate is about 382 Mh/s and I get somewhere between 250 and 270 shares/h. With this result I can mine ~1.5 Ether/month and it is about 10% lower than estimated from Whattomine. I wish someone can create a pool so people can share their results. It is annoying to think that somebody is stealing your hard-earned money but you cannot prove  Embarrassed

Yes, the power usage isn't as good if you dual mine... But if you were mining DCR and holding it back then... It's worth $34 or so now, instead of $9.

DCR is a great coin with a lot of potential.  I still have "some" rigs dual mining DCR.

Most people dual mine and do whatever is profitable at that moment. They don't analyze the potential for the coin long term.
[/quote]

we should mine for the highest current profit but at the same time trade for the highest potential.

Can anyone comment on the power consumption for the RX580 cards. I have two rigs each has 6 RX580 and both are dual mining ETH+LBC (Eth: 176 Mh/s + LBC: 510 Mh/s). Each rig consumes about 1020 Watts reading from the wall-meter while GPU-Z reads less than 130 Watts for each card. I think they should all be around 6*130 + 70(system) ~ 850 Watts total. My setting (-cclock 1150 + -mclock 2100 -cvddc 870 -mvddc 870)

The power usage shown in GPU-Z is for the card VGA power connectors. You also need to add 40-50W for each riser. 1000-1100 W is about right for a six card RX 580 rig when dual mining.

I did not think the raisers would consume that much power. It makes sense now. Thank you.
