2  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to explain blockchain/Bitcoin to millennials on: April 04, 2020, 03:41:22 PM
Hi, I'm not new to bitcoin & blockchain and I'm a full time trader with quite a little knowledge on tech background. I do trade cryptocurrency coins and studied a lot on blockchain technology. But I have a question, I always stumbled across this in my mind when people ask me why blockchain is the future, why should you care and buy?  Anybody can give me some tips and answer for this?

Would appreciate it.

I'm not also very good at this, but I think you should explain that in a layman's term for them to make it easy to understand. Like in every transactions there are blocks and in the connection of blocks and transactions there is a blockchain. Wherein, blocks are a record book that holds the details of the transactions. While blockchains are distributed immutable data (can't be modified) or simply distributed blocks.
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This is why I sold my 0.67 BTC!! on: April 04, 2020, 03:08:10 PM
Hello Community! What’s going on? Hope you guys are safe & staying home! Basically, I live in New York (I’m an expatriate indeed) & you guys know the current situation!! We are suffering badly, although I’m not scared of! Last night I sold my loving 0.67 BTC, since I need cash money!
I believe, in near future when the situation will be normal, I’ll buy it again since I have no doubt on the future of BTC & its use case! Please guys, stay home stay safe & don't forget to pray for us.

Thanks for the concern! Well some of us really need to sell  since other countries are currently kn a lockdown and we are oblige to stay at our home. Of course, when this pandemic ends, I think everything will be okay and the prices of bitcoin and other coin will soon to rise and all of us will continue the normal things in everyday life. Take care always!
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I realise Coronavirus is not a reason why on: April 04, 2020, 02:34:41 PM
Bitcoin is Down

As you can remember when the virus spread at the beginning BTC price sharply reaching $9,439 on January 28, 2019, and the markets follow the BTC as always many crypto markets rose up, that means coronavirus favor CryptoMarkets first,

But what makes Bitcoin price go down
As the spread continue people start to panic with the disease not Btc, thinking of many Negatives and some people exchange their Crypto to friendly fiat money so they can cover some emergency staff buys extra food, drinks, masks, etc, the simple view is that many sell result to cheapest sell which automatic kill the prices of an Assets.

I think that's normal for the people to panic sell their holding in bitcoin or any other digital coins. Some of us are shocked when the price of the bitcoin adn other cojns drastically changes and going down.

For the situation, many people can't go outside their houses, and many can't even go to work. So, I think they're selling their bitcoin to fiat for them to have their money to be use.
5  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: COVID-19 and its effect in Gambling World on: April 04, 2020, 01:45:57 PM
This is true. With the uncertainty surrounding our environment, if you are a gambler, you will prefer to play online rather than risk yourself from the virus. This is the advantage of online gambling sites. No physical interaction with the players.

And with this epidemic, macau casinos were losing millions of dollars everyday when they shut down last month.

https://www.forbes.com/sites/sergeiklebnikov/2020/02/07/casino-operator-wynn-resorts-is-losing-up-to-26-million-per-day-from-coronavirus-shutdown/#850ce5138edb

https://www.latimes.com/world-nation/story/2020-02-10/macao-casinos-shutdown

Though they are re-opening, I don't think many gamblers will go to the casino because the risk of getting infected is still high. The cure is not yet in full blast though there are already promising vaccines being developed.

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2020-02-17/macau-casinos-allowed-to-reopen-thursday-after-virus-shutdown

This situation will add from the long list of advantages of playing online.

It is true that casino and other gambling requires more physical contact to enjoy the game. But since we have a case of pandemic, there are online gambling that are made for the compulsive gamblers. In this case, it will have less physical contact and of course the ambiance and the presence of the game will be gone. But it will be safer for now to play in online gambling.
6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Now is a good time on: April 04, 2020, 12:29:47 PM
Let's be honest here, Covid-19 has brought about a lot of changes which includes quarantine. And there's one thing I'm sure of; one of the people to make gain in this season are our service providers. I mean, everyone stays at home and there's probably an 80% probability that they would spend more time on the internet. Now, let's also think of this; don't you think that this is a good time to promote btc (online)? Imagine, most people presently are off their work desk and are surfing the net. I really think that this is a good time to promote btc online. If people hear more about it, it'll keep brightening the future of btc.
I have two questions for you. What have always hindered you from reaching out to people (online) and 2, would you agree with me and support the promotion of bitcoin in this season??

I would loved to support to the promotion of bitcoin. Many people didn't know what to do during the lockdown because of the pandemic. If there are many advertisement about bitcoin right now, people have time to search for the use of bitcoin or any other things they want to know. Though there are still people who have no interest in bitcoin but atlest we do our part to make the digital currency community to grow bigger.
7  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does good side of gambling overcomes its negative side? on: April 04, 2020, 10:34:59 AM
I think some people will still try to playing gambling even if they know the positive and negative side of gambling games. Some of them can control themselves in gambling because their purpose is not for making money. But for some other people, they become addicting because they cannot control themselves and they spend their money to play gambling more and more. As long as we can control ourselves while we are playing gambling, we don't have to worry or afraid.

Those negatives and positive side of gambling is just a reminder for all the gamble players. I know that all the gamblers know these two sides and still playing. I agree that we should regulate ourselves even though it has a positive sides. We have the saying that "too much is bad for everything". Just have a control on yourself when playing gamble.
8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many people here would choose bitcoin as their form of payment? on: April 04, 2020, 08:52:17 AM
Firstly this is not a promotion, nor am I encouraging you to do the same.

I have been using bitwage to collect a portion of my pay check in bitcoin and ether. I have been considering while the price is low to just go all in or at least bump my allocation to 50%( 50% BTC/ 50% usd). With the fed printing more money the more I feel inclined to do this. Dont get me wrong I'm still buying undervalued stocks right now, paying Bill's and also trying to live a decent life.

Question:

I was curious if given the opition would you or would you not get all pay in 100% bitcoin.

My answer:

For me 100% is alot, considering I'd HAVE to sell some to pay bills/ expenses and stocks. But if given the ultimatum of bitcoin or usd, you can only convert out of btc, never into btc...I'd take btc.

Having bitcoin as the mode of payment surely is faster because it is done through online or with the use of internet. Though paying in fiat will give you much safer and secured transaction because you see what happens to your money. Since here in our place, there is no much establishments or organization that accepts bitcoin as payment. If it does, I'd love to.
9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We are having the difficult time, are you still a Bitcoin HODL? on: April 04, 2020, 08:04:24 AM
I had sold most of the bitcoins I bought cheaply for $ 15,000. I have no idea or need to sell my current BTC for less than $ 100,000. If I need it, I will evaluate it at that moment.

Wise thinking. Even though we are having difficult times since there are corona virus which are now pandemic, we don't need to panic sell our holdings. We should evaluate the situation and think critical. So that, we don't have any regrets when we sell our bitcoin or when we hold it. Just be calm and plan strategically for the decision you need to make.
10  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Did gambling cause you to have difficulty in sleeping as a gambler? on: April 04, 2020, 06:16:21 AM
Well, people sometimes learned from their mistakes and realized they wrong. Perhaps at that time you feel greedy and want to gain more in gambling. Because actually gambling is not for making money but the interpretation of most gamblers is making money, not for the fun activity. Indeed, in this post, --you already had found the answer. Gambling of what you can afford to lose is the first rule to implement to your self because that is only self-discipline.

Be careful of this attitude that you can't sleep as a gambler because you are chasing your losses. Perhaps, this is the reason why you become addicted to gambling without knowing your self because all you know is a habit.

Being a compulsive gambler is very hard to control. When you are continuously win on the gamble and then your urge to play more that you will end up to lose, will give you more regret and like what the title of this thread, it will cause you to have a difficulty in sleeping. But in that case, you will learn from your mistake that you should always need to control yourself.
11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to improve the usability of bitcoin? on: April 04, 2020, 04:45:38 AM
There is a speculative (investment) presence in the current bitcoin discussion scene. Only known and used by a few people.

If bitcoin really wants to become a universal currency payment system, how can we optimize the design for ease of use and make it easy for most people to get started easily and with low risk?

Security needs to be improved for the usability of bitcoin. Security needs in terms of transactions. There are some people also being hacked and loses their bitcoin holdings. With a safe and secure wallets, people will become at ease and will not worry about their bitcoins on their wallets. Also, faster transactions are the also one factor need to the improvement of usability of bitcoin.
12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What could be the effect of corona virus on crypto industry?decrease or increase on: April 04, 2020, 03:26:16 AM
basically it has drastically crashed stock markets worldwide.
and we can see more 20% downside in stock market before april end.
but bitcoin and other top currencies are already at its bottom level. we cannot see more correction in it.
and due to stock market crashes, again people from stock markets attracted towards crypto currencies.
moreover India and Korea and few other countries have started to take step to legalise this industry.
so, we can see 10000$ bitcoin before may end again.

It is my analysis only according to my forex and crypto experience.
experts can give their suggestions to bring proper conclusion.

From your statement, we can see that corona virus gives a negativr effect on the digital market. Though some of the transaction are being made online, but there are still transaction like converting bitcoin to fiat. Also I think that when this corona virus stops and get cured, the change in digital market will also be changed.
13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where do you read about crypto? Favorite sources? on: April 04, 2020, 02:54:10 AM

When my friends thought me about bitcoin, this forum is the one associated when they said it to me. This forum, is my favorite not because I started here but we have different opinions on different people
14  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: E-gambling on: April 02, 2020, 04:37:24 AM
Some people might not know these sites but I think you don't need to post this since a lot of gamblers here already know where to go. Another thing is that there are a lot of signature campaigns here on gambling sites, people could just click on it.

For me, it is alright to be posted here. There are many people who are newbies here and still exploring about cryptocurrency and to earn money or cryptos in different ways. It will serve as a guide for those newbies who wants to start gambling. But not all people here wants casino for their gambling, others want to bet on sports or esports.
15  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you stop gambling in a time of crisis? on: March 21, 2020, 05:39:14 PM
Guys, in moments such this we are living, with a crisis just ahead of all of us, do you stop gambling?

In my case I have to admit that I will stop for a while.
When I see some crisis or a decrease of my salary (I have my own business), I immediately cut some stuff and gamble are one of the first I stop, like going out and trips too

So, what's your opinion?

Yes, I stop in gambling. Since we are lockdown in our country, I stop for now because it is too hard to recover your lost money. I also need to save money for our necessities. Maybe after this crisis about the corona virus, I will slowly go back to my pace and slowly play some gamble. Well, let's say we miss playing gamble too much.
16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How would a global recession affect cryptocurrencies? on: March 21, 2020, 05:09:27 PM
How would a global recession affect cryptocurrencies?

It will reduce the price of bitcoin and other coins in the marketplace. Like for now, we are in the midst of crisis because of the virus and it really affects the price of bitcoin. As you can see on the past few days the decrease in price of bitcoin is obvious. Though bitcoin and other coins are decentralized, the price is always hard to predict.
17  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which cryptocurrency do you use for gambling frequently? on: March 21, 2020, 02:55:41 PM
With the retreat in the price of Bitcoin, this question started to come to my mind. I personally mostly like trading with ETH. I think both liquidity and mobility are faster. However, as a result of the price decrease experienced in the previous weeks, we have seen that the balances we tried to earn are rapidly melting against the USD.

I think we need to completely separate the crypto money we buy for investment and the crypto money we use for gambling. Personally, from this point on, I will use as many USDTs as possible for gambling.

Most of the gambling sites that I saw before, some of them uses bitcoin and most of them are using satoshis, it's only for the game like a dice or roulette. But in sports betting or casino they uses of course btc or altcoins. Satoshi are most, I think because it has a lower value other than the bitcoin or altcoins.
18  Economy / Speculation / Re: Cryptocurrency price is coming back. on: March 21, 2020, 01:27:23 PM
After crash more than 40% cryptocurrency is coming back to higher price although not recovery how bitcoin and altcoin price before, but I trust with bitcoin and altcoin could back to higher price again because few months later will going on with bitcoin halving time and giving impact to make price pump.

I also trust the bitcoin and altcoins because there are many problems and challenges that this cryptocurrency faces in past years and yet they overcome and still have a good price on the market. Except for now since, there is a virus that occured andreally affects the market. I think after that virus, bitcoin and other coins will be back to the game.
19  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin Doomed ? on: March 21, 2020, 10:58:12 AM
Has the Corona virus doomed Bitcoin ?

Nope - don't be ridiculous.......they want you to think this.

Firstly, we got into Bitcoin because of financial freedom - money and value that nobody controls - that will never be "doomed" ( but they'll always try to kill it ).
Secondly , I explain in the video below why after every crash investors first go for liquidity , and then into safe havens - we're only a week into this market crash , you will see the safe havens over the next few months.
Thirdly, blockchain has already entrenched itself with many use cases that we cannot ( and won't ) go back on.

Don't make a mistake selling guys - they want you to do this. HODL.
And watch my video here with more detail - https://youtu.be/QGdvGY9STdc

Corona virus really does an effect on the bitcoin and altcoins in the crypto market but it didn't totally dominated the bitcoin. Corona virus just lessen the ways of transactions because there are still bitcoin that are being transacted in physical. Corona virus will just decreases the price in the market but it will not make the bitcoin to be deleted.
20  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Physically vs Gambling Online Using Crypto on: March 21, 2020, 10:23:59 AM
I think that Crypto gambling is much better than traditional gambling.
You have a lot of options to gamble and a lot of coins to choose. Also it is faster, and anonymous which means that you are not exposed to public authorities when visiting an online gambling website.

I think traditional is much way better. When you are physically on the gamble. it gives you much pressure and the ambiance and the feel of being a gambler will be felt. There is much risk in the gambling because there are site that is not fair with their clients. Though it is a plus points for the online gambling that the transaction is fast and not exposed to public like now that there is a virus.
