I have Zotac 1070 Ti and Mining Vertcoin with 42 MH/s with 85% power limit.

Yes you can. The PC will take 150W and one card will take probably 200W mostly. So system would run smoothly.

Thanks for replys guys. I changed the PCI-e, didn't make any difference. The new one woudn't work in the old spot in the MB. I put the new one in a different slot in the MB and it started working but very poorly, doing about 100 sols only out of 700 which is usual. After that I put back the old PCI-e that I tought it was bad and it worked in a different slot in the MB.
It seems that one of the slots pci slots from the biostar tb250 died, very weird.
Now it's back and running in normal parameters with the old PCI-E!
Glad you are back and the cards are ok. If I were you, I would change the mobo right away and don't take the risk to damage my cards.

If the fans are running then it means GPU is ok. If it doesn't then thats bad indication.
Try to install drivers again and restart.

GTX 1070 would be a wise choice but not for etherium. I would suggest choose Equihash, Lyra2REv2 based coins. Such as ZEC, ZEN, VTC etc.

In that case you are doing fine. Cheers!

Hey guys, I’m building my first 12 GPU riser rig with the use of two server PSU’s. 1st PSU powering the motherboard & CPU (through a 260 watt PICO) and 6 GPU’s, 2nd PSU powering another 6 GPU’s. I need to ask the more experienced of you about one crucial thing - the proper procedure of turning on and off the rig aka the PSU’s powering the GPU’s. To my knowledge, the second PSU powering ONLY the GPU’s can be powered on (manually) BEFORE the first PSU (with the connected motherboard). And it needs needs to be powered off (manually) AFTER the first PSU. In other words, the GPU’s on the second PSU needs to be powered all the time while the system is running and it DOES NOT HARM neither the GPU’s nor the motherboard if the 6 GPU’s are powered from trhe second PSU while the rest of the system (motherboard etc.) is shut off. Can you please confirm or comment? Many thanks!
You are doing it the right way. One more thing you can do is try to use https://www.amazon.com/dp/B072JM7KVD/ this adapter which will help to turn on and off both PSU simultaneously.

Just got two Zotac 1070ti AMP Extreme and i am getting avg. 42MH on lyra2rev2 with bellow settings. Still no crashes. I will try to push it a little bit more later.

thanks! ZEC is what im thinking right now.
I would say go for Vertcoin mining. You will get 1 VTC every other day. It is a good project and have a very good development team. Let me know if you need help with vertcoin mining. I have a pool setup and you can start mining there and check how it does for you.

Thanks for the advise. I'll look into getting a better power supply. I already tried to set my memory to +600 and was having issues. currently, I am at +350 and will keep pushing it little by little to see how far that I can take it.
I am pretty sure it's a PSU issue. When you want to buy a new PSU keep in mind that you will use it's 80% capacity. For example, an 80+ Gold rated 1000W PSU will give you 80% efficiency. In other words you will be able to utilise 800W from it.

Right now ZEN, VTC and GRS is the most viable option.

General consensus from everyone. I have been doing heavy research on altcoin mining. Looking to build a rig to start mining Vertcoin. Looks like its going to cost me about 1400. Is it worth it? I have solar but taking into consideration the electric and equipment is it profitable
Profitability is a relative term and you can take it in many ways. Apart from that you should only invest the money in mining if you can afford to loose it. Having said that, mining is profitable if your strategy is right. If you are looking for ROI only then you would get frustrated pretty soon. Take this as a bait and keep working with it and at the end of the day you might get your reward. Talking about strategy, do a little bit research on most trustworthy mineable altcoins. Don't just look for most profitable coin to mine. There are lots of variable. The coin with less valuation today might get a sudden bump and fly high next day. So, a lot of opportunity out there. Just hold until you have the moment and your ROI could be less than 6 months.

OK, this is the gpu that I received. https://www.techpowerup.com/gpudb/b3999/evga-gtx-1070I'm trying to tinker with MSI Afterburner. Unfortunately, My card is now running on 80 C with fan at 60%. The whine is starting to bother me.. I am getting only 410 sol/s with Equihash using Excavator 1.3.5a. Here are my other settings. Power:80 Core:100 Memory:175 I have tried to set the memory high, but notice that the GPU crashes if I push it too far. Perhaps I am not built for mining. The whine from the fan is like scratching on a blackboard to me...Will I get used to it? Nice rig you got. I would suggest get a decent 80+ platinum rated PSU. It will reduce electricity cost and will be more efficient. For zcash mining you should try this settings in Afterburner and use EWBF miner. Power Limit: 80% Core Clock: +100 Memory Clock: +600 Fan: 60% Please keep in mind that you have to monitor and if your pc is not stable then try to decrease Memory clock by 50 and keep doing it until it is stable.

Welcome to the game!!!
Generally, nvidia cards doesn't do good with "Ethash" algorithm (such as ETH, UBQ etc.). Your best bet for now is to mine zcash, zencash or vertcoin. Cheers!

|
|
Yes. It is working great with other coins and facing problem with below config on UBQ
UBQ_WORKER="myworker" UBQ_ADDRESS="myaddress" UBQ_POOL="stratum+tcp://ubiq.suprnova.cc:3030" UBQ_EXTENSION_ARGUMENTS=""
Please note, i have removed my worker and address from above config.

I have tried other pools too. Same issue with all of them.

Hi guys, I am trying to mine UBIQ on nvOC using ethminer but I am getting below error on almost 5-6 well known ubiq pools. Please let me know what might cause it. Connecting to stratum server stratum+tcp://ubiq.suprnova.cc:3030 Could not resolve hoststratum+tcp://ubiq.suprnova.cc:3030, Host not found (non-authoritative), try again later ? 12:55:37|ethminer Reconnecting in 3 seconds...
Thanks!
