1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [POT]PotCoin - Banking for the Legal Cannabis Industry ✦ ✦ ✦Grow With Us ✦ ✦ ✦ on: August 01, 2018, 09:26:54 AM
I would have thought after the North Korea PR and Canada officially approving Cannabis the price would be over the 3 month high, not lower than ever.

Yeah, me too. The price did tick up to about 1350 after the Canadian senate passed the legalization bill but then POT got sucked into the mini crypto correction shortly afterwards and has not recovered since!!

It's down to 640, the lowest in two years! What is going on with POT? It looks doomed!

And that crappy Hempcoin is pumping like crazy! WTF!

I may have to consider dumping POT after holding for a long time.  Sad

Big downward trend for POT since April 20, it's not looking good.

Dump POT before it crashes below 500 satoshis?

3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Potcoin QT wallet not staking on: January 23, 2018, 11:56:33 AM

Hey Potcoiners!

I have been running the desktop Potcoin QT wallet (Linux) since last summer and it has always worked fine.

However, I went to stake my balance today and although the wallet indicates that it is staking, no coins have been generated even after a couple of hours! Normally this process happens in a few minutes.

Has anyone else experienced this problem?

4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: I was almost fooled into selling my BTC for BCH - but look at the exchanges on: November 11, 2017, 10:01:32 PM
don't be fooled.

Look at the exchanges.

nearly 36% of the transactions for BCH are coming out of the Korean exchange, Bithumb.

Isn't this the same exact thing that happened last time when BCH flew past $1200 and then dumped?

link:  https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitcoin-cash/#markets

This is a very good point. There is not a global sell off of BTC into BCH. The price action of BCH is clearly coming from Asia. BTC is down less that 2% over 24 hours as I write this.

Yes, there was a big pump recently but look at the chart over the last month. The trend for Potcoin is up!

Rubbish! How is it fake? The Potcoin community has been growing for years and so has the price and trade volume. Potcoin is legal. You may have noticed that the sale of pot is being legalised in many US states. Potcoin is growing and growing along with the legalised sale of weed. Buy today!

By the way, Potcoin is not a token, it is a currency.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cannabis cryptocurrencies which one you recommend to buy? on: November 09, 2017, 09:21:36 AM
I hate cryptos which tries to relate with drugs, sex and so on. I think it's harmful for spreading crypto around the world. Why should they be legit at all?

Is Pot harmful? More and more discoveries are being made that confirm it is a healing plant, to treat cancer, depression, etc. Maybe that's why many US states are legalizing the sale of it. The industry is going to grow massively and so is Potcoin.

Hi guys, I'm pretty new in this cryptocurrencies world and I have found that there are at least 4 cryptocurrencies that relate somehow to Cannabis legal business as far as I know:
PotCoin (POT): Decent market cap - best website with a lot more information than all the others - listed in 8 exchanges, I have in fact bough several of these coins
CannabisCoin (CANN): kind of nice design website, altought no much information. market cap not very high (2 MUS$) but still it could be considered?
Cannation (CNNC): low market cap - sensible to dump - very basic and horribly designed website-listed in 5 exchanges, I believe this is not a good investment
Cannacoin (CCN): low market cap (similar to previous) - sensible to dump - basic and common website - only listed in Cryptopia, I would probably not invest here
Marijuanacoin (MAR): lowest market cap of all - very sensible to dump - website has a good design - only listed in Cryptopia, I believe this is high risk investment ;probably not worth it

I believe than the legal cannabis industry is a fantastic business so I would like to invest more on it, there is any other coin in the market that I do not mentioned here? Do you have any good arguments for investing something in CANN as well?

Thanks for your help and wise advise

I would argue that Potcoin has the biggest community and is the most stable cannabis coin overall. Plus earn 5% interest for staking your POT coins in the QT wallet. You have failed to mention DopeCoin and HempCoin (THC) as these are the closest crypto currencies to compete with Potcoin but they are a long way off and are much more volatile.

Finally I was able to book profit with 300% on POT coin. Not sure what's making this to reach so high around 9000 sathoshi. Any way this is crypto world anything can happen here.

The Market Cap of Potcoin just doubled in 10 minutes! POT is generally not a pump & dump coin and it usually has stability. I notice that the other main cannabis related coins have also been pumped. As you say, anything can happen in crypto and some parties are obviously looking for short term profits which does not help Potcoin in the longer term. That said I think Potcoin is a great coin with a great community which can only grow and grow!

Hey BTX fans, I have a couple of questions -:

1. Do you have to register each address that has a balance in you BTX wallet to qualify for the airdrop? I previously registered an address but I only received 3% of that address balance and NOT 3% of the wallet balance.

2. When trying to register additional addresses for the airdrop in the console I get "Error: Please enter the wallet passphrase with walletpassphrase first. (code -13)". My wallet is encrypted and locked but how do I unlock it without actually spending BTX? Surely I don't need to type my passphrase into the console, that would be a security risk?

Thanks!
you have to register every address you want to receive the airdrop. Or jusr put all coins in one address (coin control feature). To sign messages just follow this guide: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1883902.msg23129344#msg23129344

Thanks for the advice and link minestro! All sorted now! I wonder why the instructions are to use the console rather than simply - File --> Sign Message ?
