So let me get this straight.

- Buy avalon chips in a group buy
- send them to burnin ( or however you spell it)
- He mounts them to a board for me
- he sends me the end result and i start mining

correct? say i buy 20 chips, its only 300 to start? not including shipping and fees etc.

It's not really worth it to mine on video cards any more as the difficulty has spiked since ASICs came into being. Instead of buying a new video card for the purpose of mining, I would reccomend some sort of ASIC device. Even a low end one will give you MUCH more hash/$ than any video card.

what would you recommend in an ASIC device? maybe point me where i could purchase said item?

XFX Radeon HD 7950 Double D Video Card - 3072MB, GDDR5, PCI Express 3.0 (x16), 1x DVI, 1x HDMI, 2x Mini DisplayPort, DirectX 11, Dual-Slot, Eyefinity, CrossFireX Ready, Includes 2 Games (FX-795A-TDFC)

my question is, will it perform like the gigabyte version? what makes the gigabyte version so good?

Thanks

It'll use next to nothing - the cheapest CPU you can find that fits in the socket will be just fine.

thanks, just what i wanted to hear lol

Im building a simple setup to get started and the board I have already has 1 PCI-E x16 and the other is x4. Im probably going to pick up 2 gigabyte 7950's locally and was wondering if because they are both not x16, will it effect my Mhash/s rate? and is by how much?

Thanks in advance guys & gals! Grin
