Into the trillions, could reach around $3 trillion this year I believe. Who knows if it could make it as high, or higher, than $80... time will tell!

Until you cash out, you haven't made gains or losses. Have confidence and ride the waves!

You need to do the maths and make some educated predictions. Take into consideration the length of the ICO and how much you think ether will rise in that time. Look at comparable products that have gone through an ICO and what their growth has been since landing on an exchange. Like everything in the crypto world - the answer is to really do your research!

In light of the negative news around Tether, how confident is everyone feeling about cryptocurrencies this year?

Ether could definitely get to $10k in 3-5 years

This is great! I'm just looking into participating in bounty programmes so I will keep my eye on this thread. Thanks!

I can't help but name 2 - SelfKey and Gimmer (pre in Jan, public in Feb). Both well worth looking into!

Kin is still extremely cheap, it's just kicking off now, and it's the coin for the Kik app which currently has millions of users.

Verge will could be the best privacy coin (huge potential!) and it's still at a very low price.

I think it needs very very big balls to hold them until 2020, my own strategy is to put out the half of all coins and let the rest just sit, so it doesnt matter then if all would crash or whatever in the future... if i take a good profit i will be very happy and i will add some more coins in january, like litecoin and neo and eos and ethereum and maybe vertcoin
On what basis you think you need BIG BALLS to hold them till 2020? What's gonna happen then? It's 2 years we are talking about. That's a long time when we talk about Crypto. I echo this - you're in it to trade or hold surely. I'd call it the norm rather than ballsy. Unless it's not looking good for a coin, I'm expecting to hold until around 2020, or even for more years if need be to get the return I'm after.

Some interesting coins on here I'll have to research! I have high hopes for Ada, Iota and Tron.

Ether still has huge potential to rise. I would agree if you've got a relatively small amount Bitcoin might not be a life changing investment now. I'd go with ether and a number of alts at low prices (penny stocks) to give yourself a diverse portfolio with greater opportunities for ROI.

Depends how much you have to invest. I think at this point (especially if you don't have a huge amount) you could make a greater long term profit investing in alts; have a mixed portfolio and keep up to date with ICOs as they're happening.

A good ICO yes I believe so. Unless you have large amounts of money to invest, it'll go further with a good ICO project. Say if you buy 250 tokens for $50, and the price raises to $50 or so for each token - you've got a winner! On the other hand, it'll take a lot to really make a difference with bitcoin now.

Bitcoin took a while for it's price to rise, you need to give some of these companies the time of day too.

Litecoin and ether are falling too. Not sure why but I'm sure they'll all be up again tomorrow. It's the time to buy!

It's price is one factor, it looks stronger and a more secure worthy investment to people new to crypto. For others it's the first blockchain currency and has that legacy element.

Can I add to this and ask what the best trading platform is for people who'd struggle with ID verification? I'm living in a different country so there are so many additional barriers!
