1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Why scrypt asics are all dual mine thus far? on: March 05, 2014, 09:59:24 PM
Great insight everyone! Thank you! I am really not in the market for any more 'traditional' asics so I don't see any added value personally in having the ability to mine both simultaneously (if that even works...). I am really looking for a strictly scrypt asic miner, but those seem to be a mystery in terms of when they might hit the market. Plus no matter how I swing the math, I dont see how any of the current hardware (on the market or available for pre-order) being profitable unless LTC spikes in a large way. Plus with all the bs surrounding Mt. Gox I am worried that it could take longer than this current gen of scrypt asics to restore consumer confidence in cryptos and bounce the price back up to pre chinese new year levels.

I'm itching to join in but until the hardware costs drop or something else happens that magically restores crytpos to their previous highs, i will stick with my BTC asics and mediocre video cards for scrypt.
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Why scrypt asics are all dual mine thus far? on: March 05, 2014, 02:45:40 PM
I can't seem to figure out (definitively at least) why all the scrypt mining asics brought to market are "dual" miners. Is this because the scrypt tech is so new that hardware engineers are trying to compensate by adding in btc asic mining as well in an effor to provide value to the consumer? I'm interested in everyone's thoughts!
3  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: AvalonShenzen Scammer Thread for Obtaining this guy on: February 19, 2014, 04:15:07 PM
Screwed for 2.2 BTC here. Yep I am at fault. I should have been more diligent in researching the Batch #1 "recipients". Sucks balls for sure, but there is not a lot I can do. It wont happen again i can be sure of that. I have made several group buy purchases before with not a single bump in the road, I should not have transferred that trust to the forum or mods.

My hope is that this tool will make a purchase at a large retailer that accepts bitcoin with one of the wallets that now contain our coin. Once his username with them is known I have a feeling his house of cards will crumble.

My scammed TX ID:b2fee9d6094bcce0f1ab2a10415276bfcfd528750bd79b78c70fc80d99a43491

I'll put up half of my losses (once retrieved) for info directly pointing to the culprit. I'm sure he/they slipped up somewhere along the way and I will continue digging as will others I'm sure...

I'm in!

6  Economy / Services / Re: Butter Bot!: New Bitstamp, BTC-E, and MtGox EMA Trading Platform on: December 18, 2013, 02:28:25 AM
Does anyone actually have their bot running atm? If so how's it doing? Mine sold at $859 and i turned it off once the tumble began. I'm scared to turn it back on. Anyone care to share some wisdom? settings? i'm living vicariously through bitcoinwisdom with my bot's EMA settings: 7/15 so far it seems like it would've been ok.

9  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Asteroid -- a new Mac mining client on: September 03, 2013, 05:10:17 PM
Has anyone had any success in getting Asteroid to mine FTC? It seems to connect but its hashing is slow and fluctuates drastically. No shares accepted to this point.

Still in transit.  DHL will not deliver today as originally thought....
It's possible that the delay occurred due to the Dragon Boat Festival (劳动节) holidays in China: 06/10-11-12/2013

Dragon boat festival eh?  So does this mean our miners will show up charred a bit from all the fire breath of the dragons?

Yes! It also helps to further build their resilience to heat meaning no heat sinks needed! *jk*

Canary: Understandable about the costs/qty increases for Canada. I'm hoping that i can combine my group 4 purchase with another 5 units in group 5. That would cut down on one customs form and some shipping costs likely.

This must be a full-time job atm! You're time is appreciated!!

16  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 1.7G / 3.4G FPGA - Selling on: June 03, 2013, 06:02:04 PM
Thanks for the insight guys! So many people banging down the doors to get in on the eruptor group sales, I felt like i was missing out on something. So if the ROI is just about the same which would be better to have 10 usb erupters or 1 of the 3.4Ghs units? Is there an advantage to resale on the usbs?
17  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 1.7G / 3.4G FPGA - Selling on: June 03, 2013, 05:00:41 PM
Why not set up a "group buy" situation and maybe everyone saves $$

19  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Will ASICs become obsolete? on: June 03, 2013, 04:34:38 PM
Butterfly Labs reported Saturday that they shipped orders with a pay date of Jun 25, 2012 That puts them about a year behind. Its a gamble to see if they get their production ramped up to start putting a bigger dent in the delays. They are still the best value though.... for what its worth.
20  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Since Litecoin forums are down now.. I need to sell my LTC on: June 03, 2013, 10:22:57 AM
Seems silly to sell them. They seem to be pretty stable imo.
