Personally, I base it on market cap. If the market cap gets into the top 50, I sell off 25%. At top 30, I sell off another 25%. I try to let 50% of my original holdings "ride" but if I see a promising project then sometimes I'll sell off a bit more to free up capital.

ETH's rise in price is to be expected. After it sat stable ~$300 for so long while BTC ran I would expect ETH to do a bit of catch-up.

I'm unaware of a universal "dust" coin. But can't you buy BNB with the dust in your binance account?

Unfortunately, I've ended up bag holding XRP after I bought a low swing and it never came up. I don't expect it to disappear, as people above me have said it's centralized and there's a lot of money in it. It can easily swing right back up. I'm certainly going to keep an eye on it and might pick some more up to cost average my entry point.

They probably just don't want other people owning sites that could tie them to various cryptos, hence why they bought quite a few with various relations.

I have just downloaded their mining software (i have not CPU or GPU mined in YEARS).. I have a VERY old laptop, stuck my wallet addy in, selected low end CPU, Europe pool, on starting 'connecting to Cryponight Algorythm popped up for a millisecond then that just disappeared, then blank ?? Also selected one thread. Electroneumpoolminer.exe *32 (i have windows 7 64 bit) is running in the background and using 60% CPU power Anyone got any ideas ? Thanks Well do you have a dual core CPU in there? One thread on a dual core would be about 50% CPU power...

Read or die, ha-ha I also wrote in that thread. and in two words - I really believe that smart contracts give to blockchain world a second life. So read about Etherparty and Confideal Pretty much, it's hard/impossible to survive in the world of alts if you aren't on top of everything.

Has anyone set up a CPU miner yet?

Never get caught up in wishing you would have done something, it's dangerous. Sure, everyone here wishes they got some crypto as some point for some insane returns but most of us haven't. If you get stuck in a wishing mind set you will be very susceptible to making a bad choice like hopping on a pump train at the very top because you're afraid of missing out.

You're missing nothing. It's an incredibly speculative and risky market with no real regulation to hold companies accountable to it's investors. At the moment, it's most similar to giving a person some money to help start his company. In exchange you get a "share" that you can go trade with other people.

I wonder how that will affect VTC..
Why would that affect VTC?

People will say "it is not profitable", mostly because them got spoiled from the spring 2017 crypto boom and ROI that was in the matter of months. That being said, actual ROI these days is anywhere from 6-15 months...
This is my view as well. In any industry, a <6 month ROI is insane. That's a no brainer investment. A 12 month ROI may not be as pretty, but that's still considered a great investment by most standards.

It seems like a pump and dump to me. It gets its few minutes in fame as a vtc alternative and then falls back down. I don't see it doing anything special.

Not a great long term investment, it's pretty stagnant at the moment.

It sounds like the Breitmans probably didn't read their contract with the foundation well enough and are now realizing they don't have as much freedom with the money as they'd like. If the foundation wins the lawsuit, that could certainly be problematic for Tezos.

On top of never ever giving out your private key, you need to always be cognizant of the url link that you are clicking! OmiseGo's website is https://omg.omise.co/, not the one OP linked. This isn't porn, leave those risky clicks un-clicked.

My favorite aspect of crypto is that it's universal. I once went to Czech Republic and got gouged when I exchanged my euro for koruna at the border. I could have avoided it had I known more about the exchange rate but I didn't and I'm far from the only one affected. So being able to spend the same currency anywhere in the world would be amazing.
