2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Buy Crypto on ICO or buy proven coins on: November 21, 2017, 06:02:40 AM
Hi all

I'm a late starter to cryptocurrency, need some input ,
Would you buy coins on ICO keeping in mind all the scams
And and projects that don't amount to anything, or would you
Pay premium and buy once they become proven and workable.
Await your response to this, have a great day.

Buying crypto on Initial Coin Offering (ICO) is gambling you can't be sure if you get profits. Sometimes you'll win, and sometimes you'll lose. But if you're a risk taker why not. I would suggest buying top altcoins and do crypto trading is safe than buying ICO.
It's just my opinion it's up to you what will you choose. Just do research when joining ICO project. Goodluck
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: buying alt coins on: November 18, 2017, 04:32:47 AM
Hi,

When buying altcoins, i understand that we typically need to use BTC or ETH to purchase. So we will need to buy BTC or ETH first and then use it to buy altcoins. The thing is do we need to care about the price of BTC or ETH whether they are rising or falling? How will it impact the altcoin purchase?
Thanks.

Always remember that everytime bitcoin has rising mostly altcoins are dumping because some holders selling to get btc and sell it again to usdt. Then when btc are going to price correction you should buy in dip.. time of dumping. Hope it helps you

5  Other / Off-topic / Re: How do I backup Google Authenticator Codes on: November 17, 2017, 09:18:00 AM
Is there any way to print backup codes from Google Authenticator (2 step verificiation on various exchanges)?

To have a backup in case I loose my phone.

If you have an extra phone you can use the second phone as your back up and install the google authenticator.
Download an apps named color note and install it on your phone and put your back up code and save it.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GTX 1060 Hash Speed? on: November 17, 2017, 06:51:33 AM
I'm super new to this Bitcoin mining.  I figured I should try wetting my beak here and put my gaming laptop to marginal use.  It's obviously not the best in the world for Mining but it's a start so I can learn how this all works.

Here's my specs:
- i7 6700HQ @ 2.60 Ghz
- GTX 1060 3gb Dedicated Graphics
- 8gb RAM
- NVME M.2 SSD (250gb)
- 1 TB 7200 RPM HDD

I used NiceHash Miner 2 for the last 24 hours to try it out, my pc maxes out at 93c-95c degrees, although that will be much lower when I grab a laptop cooler (any suggestions?).  I was running both my CPU and GPU at 100% for 24 hours straight and earned approximately .00015202 BTC in that time.  Which is about $1.20.  I was getting about 230 H/s on my GPU with EquiHash and about 82 H/s on my CPU with CryptoNight.  I have a feeling this is underperforming.  Shouldn't I be able to get around 10-20 MH/s with that GPU?  What can I do to get up near 10-20 MH/s in the future?  And once again, what's the best way to reduce heat for my laptop?  It has a pretty powerful dual-fan, but I'd feel better if I can keep it below 80c.

Seriously, if it's complicated and requires a lot of work, I'll give you part of whatever I mine for a while if you help me out.  I'm a noob with BTC, but I'm pretty tech literate.  So help me out here.  Thanks!  I'm also available through Discord, just reply with your Discord info.

Laptop isn't recommended for mining, you should try to build a desktop mining rig. If you don't want to burn your laptop stop mining using it and don't sacrifice it.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: When do you think Bitcoin Gold is tradable in Poloniex, Cryptopia or Bitfinex? on: November 16, 2017, 12:34:27 PM
When do you think Bitcoin Gold is tradable in Poloniex, Cryptopia or Bitfinex?

If dev could fix the mining issue, I believe poloniex will add Bitcoin Gold soon. It has a chance and waiting for it.

11  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Advice to a crypto newbie on: November 14, 2017, 01:19:55 AM
Hello all, as a crypto newbie , which crypto currency especially between bitcoin and ethereum would you advise me to start investing on, and please state your reason, thanks

You should invest to bitcoin that is the right decision, but it depends on you if do you believe in btc. Most people trust only in bitcoin. I also believe that someday bitcoin will make me rich.
12  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why dump your free coins? on: November 13, 2017, 10:05:02 AM
It`s market. People got it for free and want to get max profit. Why not? I have ~15 coins from airdrops. 3 I sold immediately. Other I hold, because of their price. And it becomes lower and lower every day. So the best strategy for airdrops coins is to sell them on the first day.
i never joined any airdrop campaign, but after you said that i can learn something from you.

Yeah i have seen people now are eager to sell. Maybe that's the reason why most of airdrop token now in etherdelta are always dumping..now i know  Grin

14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin SegWit2X (B2X) on: November 10, 2017, 08:56:43 AM
I've heard from my friend they have continue the segwit2x so 80% of altcoins will dump again. I'm not sure if it's really true
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin SegWit2X (B2X) on: November 10, 2017, 01:42:23 AM
B2X cancelled  but till now i think it is only try to make bitcoin price rise

The Segwit2x effort began in May with a simple purpose:  to increase the
blocksize and improve Bitcoin scalability. At the time, the Bitcoin
community was in crisis after nearly 3 years of heavy debate, and consensus
for Segwit seemed like a distant mirage with only 30% support among miners.
Segwit2x found its first success in August, as it broke the deadlock and
quickly led to Segwit’s successful activation. Since that time, the team
shifted its efforts to phase two of the project - a 2MB blocksize increase.

Our goal has always been a smooth upgrade for Bitcoin.  Although we
strongly believe in the need for a larger blocksize, there is something we
believe is even more important: keeping the community together.
Unfortunately, it is clear that we have not built sufficient consensus for
a clean blocksize upgrade at this time. Continuing on the current path
could divide the community and be a setback to Bitcoin’s growth. This was
never the goal of Segwit2x.

As fees rise on the blockchain, we believe it will eventually become
obvious that on-chain capacity increases are necessary. When that happens,
we hope the community will come together and find a solution, possibly with
a blocksize increase. Until then, we are suspending our plans for the
upcoming 2MB upgrade.

We want to thank everyone that contributed constructively to Segwit2x,
whether you were in favor or against. Your efforts are what makes Bitcoin
great. Bitcoin remains the greatest form of money mankind has ever seen,
and we remain dedicated to protecting and fostering its growth worldwide.

You mean this coming May 2018 will be the Segwit2x of bitcoin? Segwit2x has been canceled and altcoins are pumping in 3days but i guess after that there is price correction.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Would you sell your ETH to buy BTC right now? on: November 09, 2017, 04:51:02 AM
I've been considering selling my ETH all day to put into BTC. Just can't make up my mind

It depends on you, but for me it is better if you have eth and btc both. Next year it will go up new ath, if you're trader you have to buy more btc to trade some altcoins that's the fastest way to get more bitcoin.

18  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best Antminer for Bitcoin miing?? on: November 05, 2017, 12:01:52 AM
I would recommend you to look into the D3 and L3+! Those could be good alternatives (alt coins) if you want to make some profits.

Are you an asic miner? Could you show me your mining history or profits monthly
19  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: If I were to format my phone on: November 03, 2017, 11:30:31 PM
I am new to bitcoin and I am confused about wallet, private key, seed etc.. my aim is to buy bitcoin and HODL for life.

I currently only have 2 wallets on my phone (blockchain app and electrum) and I have written down the 12 seed phrases for them. If I were to format or buy new phone now and reinstall those 2 wallets, is it true that I still can access my wallet with my email and 12 seed phrases and able to see my bitcoin address and btc right? I do not have wallet for pc desktop.

That's a good idea, what if your phone accidentally lost? So you got back up and you have another one. Don't save it on your pc desktop it's risky and it's vulnerable for virus. Mobile phone is safe than desktop
20  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why dump your free coins? on: November 03, 2017, 09:41:43 AM
Hi everyone,

im new to airdrop but i encountered bitcoin in 2015 and learn my lesson. since i encash my 3.8 BTC in 2015.
you do the math i kinda lost the opportunity and dont want to make that mistake again especially with airdrop in which
i got the coins for free.

I kinda felt bad for bitbase and other people who just dupm their free coins where it has a potential to be so much more.

Im planning to hold mine for atleast 2 years. if i really need the money.

I was skeptical before but im done being skeptical with cryptocurrency. I already paid my price.

Most of them wants easy money even the profits are really small. That's what they wanted
