What is a reasonable amount to begin trading with for the bot to function properly and overcome trading fees?

Read one comment from some guy on youtube >

"The title is simply not true - your true earnings are made deals MINUS DCA - you might have actually lost BTC! I can buy every market then sell on 3% earnings, and half of the deals will go -3%, but the bot doesn't account for that, it'll tell you only the deals made, so 50%*3% = 1.5% total, but with the DCA you might have lost money! Thinking that DCA's will come back to normal and even make profit when they are currently -30% is wishful thinking."

Dollar cost averaging in a bear trend, especially if a long one, might just end up with a total negative balance?

thx for the input. my intent is to do the scaling game so to speak, so yes many trades daily for small amounts therefore fees will be a very important component of each trade. A 0.5% fee would be a substantial part of profit. Figured best to ask those doing this to learn a bit before jumping in

Serpens66,

I've looked at other exchanges, I think GDAX if doing limit orders appears to offer the lowest fees. Might you recommend any other exchanges with the lowest trading fees suitable to very short term day trading?
Thx

Hi,
Bittrex (signed up and verified but not funded yet) says .25% (.0025) fee on all trades, well actually it says on "profits" but I think they mean on trades. What is not clear to me is if it's .0025 on the buy AND .0025 on the sell (ie buy 1 BTC $6000 x .0025 = $15 and sell 1 BTC $6100 x .0025 = $15.25) which would be $30.25 fees on the round trip,
OR
if it's just .0025 on the sell which would be $15.25 fee.

If you're using Bittrex, pls let me know.
Thanks
Glennb6
