Hi,
Bittrex (signed up and verified but not funded yet) says .25% (.0025) fee on all trades, well actually it says on "profits" but I think they mean on trades. What is not clear to me is if it's .0025 on the buy AND .0025 on the sell (ie buy 1 BTC $6000 x .0025 = $15 and sell 1 BTC $6100 x .0025 = $15.25) which would be $30.25 fees on the round trip,
OR
if it's just .0025 on the sell which would be $15.25 fee.

If you're using Bittrex, pls let me know.
Thanks

it is 0.25% on every trade. So when you buy 0.25% fee and when you sell again same fee.

Serpens66,

I've looked at other exchanges, I think GDAX if doing limit orders appears to offer the lowest fees. Might you recommend any other exchanges with the lowest trading fees suitable to very short term day trading?
Thx

Thought I'd just jump in and say that you're already at one of the lowest fees charged at an exchange. New exchanges tend to launch with 0 fee promotions, while smaller ones naturally compete with fees a little lower than those of Bitfinex and other big ones. The trade off, however, is in volume - you'll see much smaller order books at these exchanges with lower fees. Generally, this shouldn't affect the average trader, I'm guessing if you're skimping on fees then you don't have a large bankroll.

The other trade-off is in the quickness of processing withdrawals for alts. I've found little difference in the speed of Bitcoin withdrawals up to small amounts (small becomes arguable every new ATH though!).

Yobit, for example, asks for a 0.2% fee plus don't need KYC but suffer from a terrible reputation with customer support on minor alts. I believe Binance, one of the new players, have it much lower for a few more months. I suppose that 0.05 makes a big difference if you're doing 10 trades a day.

thx for the input. my intent is to do the scaling game so to speak, so yes many trades daily for small amounts therefore fees will be a very important component of each trade. A 0.5% fee would be a substantial part of profit. Figured best to ask those doing this to learn a bit before jumping in

You need to give fees for both buying and selling.
It is same for all other exchanges as well.
Bittrex fees are less compared to other large exchanges.
But presently bittrex is having some issues and controversies.

take a look here at the fees:
https://exchangewar.info/
but use an exchange that is often mentioned here at bitcointalk and not an exchange no one ever heard of, cause these might be too small or scam exchanges.

Exchanges with very small "maker fee" are:
Cex.io (0%) and Hitbtc (even 0.01% discount)
hitbtc.com/fees-and-limits
cex.io/fee-schedule

bittrex say All trades have a 0.25% commission. But 0.25%  when you sell and 0.25% when you  buy . The same thing when you buy first 0.25%

trading fees total 0.5 %

guys I think bittrex takes way more than 0.25% or I am retarded :

>     sold 0.51151348BTC at 13898.00000001$ for 7091.24180919$, so 7091.24180919$ x 0.25% = 17.72$ fees

> bought 0.51343305BTC at 13777.00000000$ for 7091.24180919$, so 7091.25104764$ x 0.25% = 17.72$ fees

13898 - 13777 = 121$ - 17.72$ fees -17.72$ fees = 85.56$

I should get in my pocket  85.56$

but I only got 0.00191957BTC at the rate 13777$ thats only + 26.44$

almost 40$ missing?HuhHuh

and it's like that for all my trades!

Yes, for all my trades too. Most people don't seem to notice this.
I had USDT 8,400 in my total balance. I sold all my positions and all I ended up with was USDT 8,100. USDT 300 in fees. Crazy.
