Don't quite your job UNLESS 1. You have plenty of capital available to support yourself, 2. You have plenty more capital available to invest and lose while learning how to be a good trader.
Most likely, you shouldn't quit your job, and you should instead learn how to trade well in your spare time until you are comfortable on how to trade in both bull and bear markets.

Now is a good time to buy cryptos, but I personally would take other coins over bitcoin.

We are now experiencing the efficient, fast and amazing convergence of technologies which one way or the other greatly contributing to the rise of the cryptocurrencies and making Bitcoin as the King of the Hill so far.
Looking into the future...what do you think will be the scenario involving Bitcoin twenty years from now? Will Bitcoin be worth more than a million or will it ceased to exist? Or will a new crytocurrency replace the supremacy of Bitcoin...?
It will either be defeated by another currency that may not even exist yet, or it will have morphed dramatically in order to survive.

I have seen many people say that Bitcoin will end governments.
But do we really want that?
And if yes how would things like infrastructure be provided without a government? (This is just an example, you can discuss any issue you see fit for this topic)
Not to end government completely, but to just end total government control of the monetary system.

I think the x10 and x100's of several altcoins/platforms are to be seen in 2018
Enjoy the ride brothers and sisters
Totally agree with this. But, have to pick the right ones, lot of crapcoins out there...

Hi ! I have 12 000$ to invest, I want to hold it 1 or 2 years.
I already have 70 IOTA bought at 0.80$/unit, I want to buy more into Altcoins.
Any suggestions ?
Here are some that I like: Larger ones - not as much reward, I don't really go for them. Medium ones, potential 300-500% - RCN, POWR Smaller ones, potential 1000-2000% - HVN, SNC Good luck!

Myetherwallet for Ethereum based coins.
Agreed, as far as I know, unless there's some better one I'm missing.

How can we be expected to invest in this stupidity? Here is a guy trying to give Andreas a tip of $1.50. To do that, he paid $13.46 in fees. Does that seem like a sensible payment system? Not. It is garbage. SegWit didn't help with anything. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FDDMQjOw.jpg&t=663&c=Fq1C2zy6Du_lqg) It's more comparable to gold (store of value), then a payment system, at least at the moment. It would be nice if they could fix the fees and speed though.

This is a very very bad idea. But, can you really blame them? It looks like a gold mine, ayeeeee.

Coins from ICOs are in many ways like owning stocks, without all the headaches associated with buying and selling regular stocks. Less transaction fees, instant transfer of ownership - this is the new reality, and I love it!

I think right now Ethereum looks pretty good - it's been building up to it's current point for months with smaller and smaller dips, might be about ready to blow!

As per we can see the interest in bitcoin of people is increasing at a high rate...I believe it will be our future...but will the shoppingsites like flipkar, amazon be able to accept bitcoins? may be in the next generation.......thanz fr reading
Bitcoin is too slow and transaction costs are too high for Amazon to accept it right now. Theoretically they could still accept it anyway, but nobody would use it. They might start accepting Ethereum or other alt coins though.

I don't use it, and using it in every day life, even if I could, would be silly as of right now - The fees are too high.
|
|
|
If you want to actually use the money you've got stored in bitcoin for everyday transactions, you have to sell them for fiat. Unless, you find places that accept them and you want to pay massive extra fees.

Some rumorus about Bitcoin going to 10k before Dec2017... is possible?
Before December? I doubt it. I think it will go to around 8500.

I use them, and haven't had any problems yet.

I don't know why people say bitcoin is gambling. Its not gambling. You are investing your money and time. You use your internet. So its not gambling dealing with it.
It's not "gambling" per se since you can make educated buying and selling decisions based on information. But, there's still quite a bit of luck involved.

Ether will break through 400, and there's a decent chance it will stay up there. At the very least, it will stay above 360. That's my prediction!
|
|
|
I think it will overtake Bitcoin at some point, but I'm not sure when exactly, and I'm not sure if it will stay #1 once it gets there. It is possible some other new crypto will come out that is better than all the ones we have right now!

|

which one is preferable for you guys?
1. Ethereum 2. Bitcoin
Its hard to invest in Bitcoin. So what's the future of ethereum?
I think Ethereum will get you a better ROI in the long run, because it has more functional usage (fast transaction times, low fees, tons of great apps being built on top of it). Also, it has a much lower market cap than bitcoin which gives it more room to grow.
