anyone running wallet on mac osx yosemite? i am looking at updating, have wallet working on mavericks.

Just downloaded 1.5.1

Here is how I run and it works on OSX 10.10.5 Yoze..

After installing wallet , make some directory , mine is /projects/_crypto/energy/
cd to dir
make dir
Code:
/projects/_crypto/energy/blockdata
make EnergyCoin.conf file and put following nodes

Code:
addnode=115.163.56.7
addnode=87.98.182.171
addnode=167.114.224.79
addnode=167.114.224.82
addnode=2.26.10.33
addnode=212.123.176.143

addnode=23.245.7.15
addnode=51.254.68.179

addnode=78.194.58.33

run

Code:
/Applications/EnergyCoin-Qt.app/Contents/MacOS/EnergyCoin-Qt -debug -conf=/projects/_crypto/energy/EnergyCoin.conf -datadir=/projects/_crypto/energy/blockdata/

It immediately starts to sync unlike v 1.5.0

NICE WORK DEVS

Well that was my chance to buy cheaper so thanks to weak hands who helped me to get my ordered filled. Now I am happy and have long term plans to let the developer work freely and will see where it takes me in few months time frame. Like other markets it is also back on recovery mode now.

It is actually a perfect time to pump the price and follow the trend ...

Though  I see that devs are pretty active ( thanks for OSX 1.5.1 )  , I'll keep 10k as mid-term

you need for this kind of (ad)venture

As I understand you'll need
1. phone app that is connected to VR device via (cable/wifi/BT ) ?
2. phone needs to be connected to net with good bandwith
3. you are using blockchain so users can easily transfer money
4. Is there any guarantee that you will invest ICO money in developing tech/devices etc

I am concerned about #2
if there are 100 users interested in watching one particular VR stream , which kind of phone can support this ?
#2 can be solved by storing stream to some server and later sell it to interested party ( though storage also costs and needs to be payed via fiat )

#1 Main concern
Do you have a prototype or any communication with VR tech companies  to develop needed device

good luck

5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO 19 JULY] AVENTUS - ANTIFRAUD ANTI-SCALPING EVENT TICKETING ON ETHEREUM on: July 10, 2017, 06:42:18 PM
I like the concept of bring ticket sales to the blockchain.
However, at the risk of offending all the ETH fan bois, all I see is warning signs for the Ethereum ecosystem.

Scaling is the most obvious & pressing issue.
What is the plan to deal with this network congestion that looks to be here for the foreseeable future?
Will Aventus simply exclude events which are scheduled for dates when there is an ICO ?

Had a more scale-able platform been selected then I would invest long-term.
Unfortunately, on the Eth platform all I can see for me is a quick flip for profit before things turn to custard.

Good luck.

More and more people complaining about ETH network , is there any ETH based coin/token that gained value ?

Aventus project sound as a good idea , I am just worried about ETH going to PoS and Casper update , as they need it ASAP to make network sustainable

I love this coin. Excited of the stake every time. It is a surprise every time.

What it ther to love

I do not get those stalking principle of coins that has not added value
Demand is created only to get more RAIN by stalk  and Huh thats it

It just good for pump and dump  as most of those COPY PASTE github coins

Creating money out of intelligence and electricity isn't good enough for you?

Seriously ?
copy/paste requires monkey intelligence
same intelligence needed to spend single W of power on this kind of coin

So electricity will be converted to coins , and demand for coins will rise because people are mining and are intelligent
NICE !

9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why is litecoin hyped so much when it doesn't add any value over bitcoin? on: June 25, 2013, 09:44:49 PM
In my understanding , ASIC will be broadly available till the end of a year, people can sell GPUs and switch to ASICs.
Other thing about ASICs is that the race just begun as ie 55nm ASIC are already produces and are much more powerful then BFL/AVALON chips, so people trowed their money on BFLs AVALONs and are stuck as pre-orders are not shipping (BFL), batch 3 of avalons are not on due and they are accepting refunds.., people not able to pre-order/buy those have a chance to skip first era of ASICs and jump straight to second era ...
LTC I dont see any benefits over BTC.
My main concern is not difficulty / hashing power, but central point of failure on both of them.
If US Gov can shutdown Bitcoin Foundation , who is going to continue dev and support of BTC (Single point of failure ) this applies to LTC and others.
You can argue that they can be relocated to some other country, but w/o US non of them will survive

@J35st3r

Whats your opinion on investing eg $10K on ASIC when they are publicly available or buy BTC now for same amount?

Pozdrav svima,

Sve u krug.

As I posted in another tread...
As far as in next few months ASIC's hit the market it is the question of time, probably few months, for difficulty of btc to go high enough, so all non-asic miners will stop mining, the only alternative, as I see it,  the litecoin (is the only another promising alt coin)  which will allow them to continue mining.
Current ratio litecoins to bitcoin is about 1:44
So, what we might see next, litecoin market will start getting new miners who is switching from btc with their GPU boards... which is good for litecoin, more people, more trading the litecoin price might go up in first, that means that all these people could buy btc simply by trading their ltc for btc, this is what I think will happen in the beginning, ltc will rise, on other hand btc market will have less traders, which could push down btc even more and make ltc/btc ratio even more smaller, but after that, as far as of now most people and investors(venture capital etc) believe that only bitcoin is the only real internet currency, all those thousand of new ltc miners that join ltc after dumping btc, will start to trade their ltc to btc, which will push btc high, taking in account that suddenly there will be a lot of people trading their ltc for btc, btc price will rise much higher then current level...

Community needs somehow to add value to LTC , I see BTC rise in value as of Butterfly/AVALON accepting only BTC so people had to trade USD/EUR for BTC thus lowering availability of BTC.
I don't see why should anybody trade fiat for LTC. This is IMHO I am not an economist but you need somehow to add a value to the coin, mining it wont rise it much and trading it for BTC would just drop the price, so GPU guys may even stick with BTC untill profitability is -0.01 than sell GPUs and buy ASIC as there will be lot of ASIC on a market to buy by the end of the year. Of course I may be completely wrong I am still a newbie Wink

Hi I an new to BTC but I am researching it for the last week , here is the video on YT that I guess most of you saw , but I am wondering if this guy is somehow connected to BFL
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vw7kVfJ5X5Y - Jalopeno teardown by codinginmydream
There is also other video showing Jalopeno in work.
My question is, is this a proof that BFL has developed a working board or this is just a scam , it seems legit to me?

Hi. This might help you. http://bfl.ptz.ro/ It's a list of some people that received Jalapenos so far (and more unlucky ones still waiting to give you the whole disastrous picture - considering most people did not register in that form this is HUGE). You can contact most of them with further questions by PM.

They (butterflies) sort of managed to scam people even if they deliver product at the (far away) end. Very creative.

Read more in PuertoLibre's signature above.

Thanks Kernel32 , what I understand is they have working boards , but they won't sell them, instead they need community to develop opens source boards.
As only few orders are delivered , they are just buying time to mine with already produced units , until Avalon chips started shipping at which time they can start shipping their products - IMHO , and they want to cash in more with BFL chips , hm if they take your proposition of escrow I will throw couple of BTC
Thanks for clarifying !

I have some questions for miners and traders.

1. As more and more Companies see BTC threatening to their business.
I stopped reading here. What? Why? It is just a payment system, it doesn't threaten any business (it does challenge the governments by bypassing the official currency routes that can be taxed). Businesses can adopt Bitcoin if they want as an alternate to their existing payment systems.

OK can you answer me this question , how does PayPal make money ?
Fees
Yup so it does a lot of damage to those kind of companies , where their biz model is on taking fees per transaction
Paypal revenue in 2012
Revenue    US$5.6 billion (2012) - by Wikipedia

If you are decision maker in PayPal what would you do , adopt BTC ?

Lol you're talking of direct competing companies? Of course they won't like competition! But think of this in terms of a neutral business that isn't in the business of processing payments. How much of the economy do you think Paypal/Visa/Mastercard make up anyway?
I understand that many non processing business will just benefit adopting BTC.
My point is that if PayPal revenue per year is $5600 Million and if they loose lets say 5%  of that lump as more users are switching to BTC
that's $280 Mil. loss per year , so theoretically they can invest $100 Mil to develop miners that can take >51% of network hashing power, in that case they own BTC  , that was my OP question #1  is this feasible?
