1  Economy / Securities / Re: If you own 3000 or more Bitcoin, Wall Street wants your advice on: January 02, 2014, 07:39:49 PM
From the Reddit thread:

Quote
UPDATE : Sorry Reddit, tough (and skeptical!) crowd.
My name is Bruce Fenton, I founded Atlantic Financial Inc., the Internet's first full-service investment firm, in 1994. I've done $4.5 billion in transactions in my career, have never had a client complaint, ethical complaint or regulatory complaint or action of any kind in 20+ years. Prior to AF I was with Morgan Stanley.
(Side note: definitely not asking for anyone's addresses, name, etc., just researching viability of a potential technology which could allow large holders to convert a portion of holdings to a public vehicle)
Verification : Twitter.com/Brucefenton
UPDATE 2: the 3000 coin threshold isn't to discriminate, be snobby or because it doesn't value input of smart smaller holders -- it's a logistical matter --- the research / advice is determining the viability and interest from enough large holders to get critical mass of 10-20,000 coins needed to make it work-- logistically it won't be possible if there isn't interest from some large holders,

Hi Ken,

Could we possibly get an update on the crypto-trade situation?

Thanks

It's fucking christmas, leave the guy alone.
christmas, what is that? Greedy jewish merchants selling useless "made in china" shit to confused christians? Why is this BS even a holiday?

I think you meant a time of the year where you spend quality time with loved ones, but somehow it came out jaded, angry, and a bit intolerant in your post.

Guess your family didn't like the home made pots you made them Tongue

What stops you doing that for the rest of the year? Greed? Stupidity? Religion?

For me, it's the fact that I live over 1500km away from my family. Some people use the holiday season to see friends and family they can't see during the year.
3  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL Product Failures / Underperformance. on: December 22, 2013, 05:25:34 AM
My jalepano blew its power source after three days of mining. They told me to send it back (and pay shipping to do so) and they will fix it and send it back. By the time I get it back I probably wont make back the money it will cost me to ship it to them.

Balance BTC -0.10935092

Account Regenmacher

What the heck?

Is that in weexchange itself or in the claims portal? Your balance in weexchange itself shouldnt matter at the moment.
5  Economy / Securities / Re: [Weexchange issue] The fall of Ukyo III - Updates and references on: December 07, 2013, 10:28:10 PM
Apologies for the slight delay in getting this information out.

Jon (Ukyo) is now here with me in Cyprus to ensure this problem is resolved for everyone involved.

The bitcoins are simply not there anymore, we are continuing to work through the implementation of a number of solutions to correct the issue. We are hoping to have one of many very important announcements before the Christmas holidays that will enable the bitcoins to be returned to those that are owed, however the run up to the holiday period may cause delays in some aspects.

The solution will take time to pay everyone in full however, there will be no preferential payments and the payments will be distributed proportionally.

A full explanation as to why the bitcoins are no longer there, will be provided as soon as we possibly can.

Neo & Bee has no exposure to the liabilities of WeExchange. The solution will enable Neo & Bee and all of those involved in Bitcoin to benefit greatly in the future.

Roll Eyes They arent there anymore? But they want to pay in full? The bitcoins cant vanish. They have to be sent form the addresses. And the wallet cant be lost if you have backups or at least the private keys.
So this is a strange use of words here.

Perhaps authorities seized all of Ukyo's servers and private keys, thereby leaving him with no access to those coins.

So do you believe that we get our coins back this year ?

The process of receiving them will start this week.

Thank you for your hard work on this Danny

9  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: CoinJar - Australia's first VC-backed Bitcoin startup on: December 05, 2013, 09:25:11 AM
It's very hard to say without subscribing to your website and sending coins, how much exactly I get from you for 1 coin in AUD at any given time.

All sites that buy coins in AU basically say it on the first page, like $1234 + 5% and do not require any subscription, you just fill in your bank details, get a quote - before sending coins - and then send coins if you're happy.

Your service for selling coins seem to be very unclear and unnecessarily complicated.

so those other sites did not collect AML or KYC documents?

Not for selling for sure, I've never bought coins in my life so can only talk about selling, you can google "sell bitcoin Australia" and see for yourself, normally it's just one page where as I said you first get a quote for the desired amount, then fill in your email and Australian bank details, that's it. I'm no expert but I believe they operate legally and some of them do it for a long time, so demanding anything more than that simple interface seems unreasonable.

To get the current spot price I just go to coinjar and click "Filler" at the top - that takes you to the spot prices. You have to sign up to get a quote - I dont think you have to send coins to get a quote, but Im not 100% sure on that point.
10  Economy / Securities / Re: [BitFunder] Ukyo.Loan - Paying 0.05% daily. on: December 04, 2013, 08:35:02 PM
Ukyo was on IRC last night, and said this about the loan:
[12:34] <Ukyo> due to the situation with weex, i stopped issueing dividends on the loan for now. I am setting up a seperate claim/management system where users will either a. begin to get daily divs again, or b. be able to get all missed divs with payoff
11  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] The Official Active Mining Discussion Thread [Self-Moderated] on: December 04, 2013, 09:23:33 AM
Someone already visited Ken at his offices in the US earlier in the year if that helps:

12  Economy / Securities / Re: [BitFunder] Ukyo.Loan - Paying 0.05% daily. on: December 04, 2013, 07:26:29 AM
I pm'd him over a week ago - no response yet. He is active on IRC occasionally, but everyone is in the same boat, waiting for more news.
13  Economy / Securities / Re: [BitFunder] Ukyo.Loan - Paying 0.05% daily. on: December 04, 2013, 06:57:21 AM
Ukyo is currently working with Neo and Bee to overcome issues with both weexchange withdrawals and redeeming Ukyo.Loan as far as I know. It may be a little while before he can redeem again.
14  Economy / Marketplace / Re: A legitimate Bitcoin Bank on: November 29, 2013, 05:49:11 AM
I'd say someone must already be creating such bank. But there is no legitimate bitcoin bank yet.

Neo & Bee are a bitcoin bank based out of Cyprus http://bitcoinviews.com/neo-bee-the-bitcoin-bank-cyprus-lmb-holdings/
15  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: CoinJar - Australia's first VC-backed Bitcoin startup on: November 29, 2013, 05:44:06 AM
I have personally been using Coinjar to buy and sell bitcoins for the last 6 months. I dont use is as an online wallet, and if you do you should only keep a small amount on it.
That being said, buying and selling on coinjar is very easy, and I have never waited more than 48 hours for a deposit to arrive from a sale, or for my money to be credited to my coinjar.
As soon as you have bought BTC move them to an offline wallet. Simple.
16  Economy / Securities / Re: [BitFunder] Moving Forward/Resolution Process on: November 29, 2013, 05:34:29 AM
Interesting Thread. I just see it as tarnishing the reputations of both services now. Only those who love the thrill of gambling will trust bitcoin 'businesses' now.

Would be nice to get my bitcoins back like everyone else.  Pity a good service is now associated with a new service that has yet to prove itself.  Proves to me they do not know how to build reputation. Just seems all to shady to me, to come out with this announcement.

Perhaps they are confident that this will be resolved quicky and amicably, and that this will help Neo & Bee build trust from the community. I cant see a new startup getting involved in this unless they were certain they could help.

I think that by now people know that Pyramining is a terrible investment.

[11:18] <VinceSamios> Ukyo is this big announcement the one by cyptocyprus?
[11:18] <VinceSamios> Because it doesn't actually say anything...
[11:21] <Spekko> that was such a joke of a post i couldnt believe it was posted -.-
[11:23] <nsa_> It is not the big annoucement, just AN announcement
[11:24] <Spekko> ukyo stole. period. if not weex deposits would have been stopped once he knew there was a problem, but it wasnt
[11:24] <Spekko> thats all the information needed basically
[11:27] <nsa_> pretty sure its a legal issue

[11:59] <krone> weex transactions still won't make it to the block chain
[11:59] <krone> coins are still vanishing last time i checked

[12:45] <VinceSamios> }bc,stats
[12:45] <VinceSamios> woops, wrong one

[13:09] <@Ukyo> Spekko: I did not touch users funds.
[13:10] <jeffz> are aud withdrawls being processed?
[13:11] <Spekko> i certainly hope not, but could you give a valid reason why you still allow btc deposits to weex? I deposited 0.06BTC just so I could withdraw the little i had in there and lost that aswell
[13:11] <blastbob> Ukyo: But did someone else?
[13:11] <@Ukyo> Spekko: it was disabled
[13:11] <@Ukyo> goto deposit page
[13:11] <@Ukyo> and hit ctrl-f5
[13:12] <@Ukyo> I cant stop the blockchain
[13:12] <@Ukyo> anything someone sends will have to be credited to users.

[13:12] <Spekko> cant access the site from work network, but when I needed to withdraw I deposited a small amount knowing nothing about the issues
[13:15] <blastbob> Ukyo: Can you confirm that all the users funds are available, but you are not allowed to touch it due "legal" reasons? simple yes/no
[13:16] <Spekko> it makes sense that anything someone sends must be credited. But knowing that the system is in a flawed state why keep the deposit option open for such a long period of time
[13:18] <Spekko> issues like this along with the fact that you "cannot" release information regarding the problems is causing more and more speculation in the community.

[13:22] <@Ukyo> Spekko: there are multiple issues involved here and as to timing is another issue altogether
[13:22] <@Ukyo> that is that.

[13:24] <Spekko> unfortunately, no matter the situation, when a group of people is owed over 1million USD, that is not enough. people need some valid reason for this no matter how small a shed of light is needed. all we getting is promises of updates happening at unknown times. a small shed of info can do a great deal of good at this time
[13:24] <@Ukyo> I wish I could tell you everything.
[13:24] <@Ukyo> unfortunately is some situations, you simlpy cannoy.
[13:24] <@Ukyo> simply*
[13:25] <@Ukyo> And with that, I am going back to bed. Just woke to fix a problem.
[13:25] <Spekko> well is there atleast an answer to why you did not immediately stop deposits when you found out about the issues?
[13:26] <@Ukyo> Please understand that this has been a very difficult situation to work through.
[13:26] <@Ukyo> As Danny wrote, if the intent was to "scam" people, I would have just said "sorry" and left.
[13:26] <@Ukyo> That was never the point.
[13:27] <Spekko> my question is so simple :/
[13:27] <blastbob> If money is gone, the result is the same
[13:27] <@Ukyo> I am here because I do not want people "scammed" and trying to get things corrected.
[13:27] <@Ukyo> blastbob: if the funds are unavailable, the result is the same except that I am here and putting a plan in place to correct for it.
[13:27] <Spekko> you allowed for more deposits to go through to weex knowing it had problems
[13:28] <jeffz> I appreciate your hard work Ukyo and I'm sure the other silent ones do too.
[13:28] <@Ukyo> blastbob: unless you prefer I not.
[13:28] <Spekko> weeks after the issues deposits to weex was still possible
[13:28] <@Ukyo> Spekko: different issues make for different responses.
[13:29] <@Ukyo> jeffz: Thanks. I have pretty much been working around the clock to get things ready so that things will be corrected asap.
[13:29] <Spekko> but I am speaking about one specific issue, why not stop the deposits as soon as you knew to prevent even more hurt
[13:29] <blastbob> Ukyo: if i have to wait 3 years through "feeshares" on some neobee project, i am not sure what i want. I had some crappy nights already
[13:29] <blastbob> Like you have i guess Smiley
[13:30] <@Ukyo> Spekko: you can ask as many times as you want, however it will not change the current answer that can be provided.
[13:31] <@Ukyo> I would like to tell you.
[13:32] <@Ukyo> blastbob: and speaking of that, I managed a full 2 hours of sleep before having to help a user so I am going to try to get some actual sleep again.
[13:32] <@Ukyo> night, afk.
[13:33] <Spekko> eish

[13:33] <@Ukyo> Spekko: sorry, i really want to say more.
[13:33] <@Ukyo> If I could, I would.
[13:34] <@Ukyo> All I can ask is that you please try to be patient. I know it is asking a lot given the circumstances
[13:34] <@Ukyo> but we are trying our best to make sure this has a positive outcome and not leaving everyone completely ot of pocket.
[13:34] <@Ukyo> The situation is what it is and we are trying to make the best of it moving forward.
[13:35] <Spekko> I have no worries as I have not lost much. But some people got hit hard, and the lack of info is making it worse on them
[13:35] <@Ukyo> I agree 100%
[13:35] <nsa_> 100+ here.. being patient Smiley
[13:36] <Spekko> and my question doesnt deal with the current state of the problem. Its that you as another human, noticed the problems, and continued to allow the depositing of external btc for quite a period to weex
[13:36] <@Ukyo> The fact of the matter is what can be done and said, is being done and said. This is far better than nothing at all and just saying "Sorry guys, there is nothing more. Get out the pitch forks." Certinly people are still free to get out the pitchforks, but it wont do anything but hinder the ability to correct the issue.
[13:37] <@Ukyo> Spekko: I have been doing everything I can to put a stop to additional btc going into the system as soon as I can.
[13:38] <@Ukyo> I even have an email to FriedCat telling him not to send AM PT divs, and he did it anyways.
[13:38] <blastbob> Should we except 100% return, or prepare for less?
[13:38] <nsa_> You are still waiting for "something", right? Go get some sleep
[13:38] <@Ukyo> blastbob: I won't settle for anything less than 100%
[13:38] <blastbob> see..
[13:38] <blastbob> now i can sleep for a few more hours
[13:39] <@Ukyo> in fact, if I have a say in it, I think more is deserved.
[13:39] <@Ukyo> but thats another point for another discussion when more information is known.

ALL i wanted to know is why he didnt stop users from depositing extra BTC for several weeks after he learnt about the problems
Im pretty sure that he did answer the question. A better question would have been "Why didnt you remove the deposit page from weexchange once you knew about the problem?"
Its essentially the same question, but at times like this wording is very important.
19  Economy / Securities / Re: [BitFunder] Ukyo.Loan - Paying 0.05% daily. on: November 27, 2013, 07:55:05 AM
I was pretty happy with Ukyo's chat on IRC, he is getting on top of things. He needs a little more time, and Im a patient man.
