Yes, block 500096 was found already 59h 18min ago.  Wink

https://www.kano.is/index.php?k=blocks

I thought it seemed funny that the alert in the app matched that block which was why I was confused.

CKPool app is always way behind and reporting blocks found days after they were found. I stopped using it for that reason.

Do you use anything instead?

Block? CKPool app just said we found block 500096 was found by koelby.s93. Normally someone posts here quick but it has been a few minutes with no post about finding the block. Is the app right? Did we find a block?

Sorry for the question that I am sure has already been asked but I can't find an answer too.

I understand that currently our payouts happen in the following block to avoid fees. I understand that we had two blocks hit back to back over the weekend (498476 and 498508) and they hit to close together to have the latter confirm the former, so they will both be payed out in our next block. My issue is I am seeing the payouts in my wallet. Why/how could that be? What am I missing?

What would be the reason that one would purchase this unit over the S9? Reliability is much better or so I have read, but power consumption is not. Would it be the fact that bitmain is not months behind and paying the scalper prices on ebay is absurd? Not trying to start anything here. Just attempting to confirm what I believe the reasons are based on my research. All in all given the retail pricing of both units wouldn't the S9 be the better machine 9 (not considering reliability).
Well with Bitmain where you have to pay 3 months in advance for an S9 ... that's 3 months of lost mining ... which is a VERY long time.

If instead you can get a miner much faster ... then that also needs to be factored in.

At the moment neither of them can supply miners quickly, but a few months back most people ignored the fact you could get an A7 when you couldn't get an S9.

We'll see what happens when the A8 is released ...

Then of course, as mentioned above, the RMA on an S9 is pretty much a joke ... so you gotta hope your S9 never fails ...

I ordered two S9 in the beginning of November and they arrived today. I was totally not prepared as everyone says two months out and even the details on the order page said it would be from the January lot. So now I am rush shipping power supplies to make use of miners that arrived over a month early.

I recently switched wallets and transferring all my funds from my old wallet to my new wallet. I posted on here before doing so because the old wallet was GreenAddress and they steep transaction fees for sending funds. Based on the suggestion of others on this form I submitted my transaction with what I realize now was a wrong, very, very, very low transaction fee. Knowing I used a very low transaction fee I was fine with it taking a long time to be confirmed but it has now sat for about 19 days without being confirmed.

I tried some of the suggestions on this forum https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1802212.0 but everything says my transaction fee is low (yes I realize I screwed up with this one, lesson learned (transaction fee is only 0.00008578 BTC).

Is anyone able to help me get this confirmed or have suggestions to try?

PS: This is all earnings from mining on kano so there are lots of transactions which might also be an issue.

If my miner goes offline for any reason (in the recent example offline for 5 hours due to failed surge protector).

Is there a ramp backup delay to get back to full force? I believe I read a new miner takes 7 ish days.

On a related note I have a S9 powered by a EVGA SuperNOVA 1600 P2 80+ PLATINUM. Do I need to run a surge protect between it the power supply and the wall outlet? Shouldn't the fuse in the fuse box just trip if there is a surge?

I am not showing the last payment in my wallet.

When I check https://blockchain.info/address/35efSwzRYdYFfxy82CgNSTdukd1gStVYEN the last I see are from 11/16/2017.

I have verified that the correct wallet address was used to send the payment.

Block   Address   Status   BTC
495143   35efSwzRYdYFfxy82CgNSTdukd1gStVYEN       0.00584797

Did it recently confirm and the payment hasn't been released?
Read the last couple of pages. The payment will be confirmed in our next block.

Thanks for confirming. There is a lot of noise about killing goats, dolls, etc to sift through so after reading a page about that stuff I decided it was easier to just ask.

unfortunately  Sad

Thank you as well.

stratum+tcp://stratum.kano.is:3333

M

It Doesn't work yet.

Sad

You need the stratum+tcp:// part if you don't have it.

Yes of course but it doesn't work, at the moment i'm linked and working with slushpool
Sorry if this is a dumb question but do you have your worker field and password field filled out correctly?

S9s are available.

Your heads up allowed me to snag a few. As noted in an earlier post I was in the market for some. So thanks for the heads up. Again great to be part of a good community.

I am trying to change wallets from GreenAddress to Trezor. I have updated the miner with the new BTC address and am now ready to transfer my BTC funds from GreenAddress to Trezor. When I started the process I was shocked to see a .01675051 Transaction Fee to transfer only .10899048 BTC.

I found this thread on the subject https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1476536.0;all which basically says auto calculated fees are a joke on GreenAddress and to chose my own fees.  I found that fees are based on transaction size but I am unsure how to find the size of the transaction.

So now is where I need smarter peoples help.

I am in no hurry, however I would like the transfer to be completed before the upcoming fork, so I am cool with a slowerish confirmation time. If I choose 0 for the fee on GreenAddress it gives a warning stating the fee rate is too low and the minimum rate was used of .00001 BTC which makes my total fee .000084360 BTC

Is this a good fee size? Will a fee of this size get my transaction processed? If so what would be an expected turn around time for confirmations?

As my status says I am a newbie so please go easy on me with replies.

Looking to purchase more Antminer S9s. Don't want to pay the ebay prices. I searched Google and can't seem to find anything that monitors stock on bitmain's site. What is the best approach to purchase these miners?

I know this may not be the best place to ask, but this is the only thread i am actually engaged with on this forum.

---> Where is the best place to buy a S9?

Im not going to buy one on ebay for the rediculous overcharge, as im not in a hurry to receive it.

I, and perhaps some others, will PM you shortly.

PM Me too. I am looking to add more S9s if the price is right.

though of course the pool gives me notifications as well

Is it possible for us to get notifications from the pool when blocks are found without 3rd party software like Awesome Miner?

There are 3 really good free apps listed on the 1st page of this thread; we get notice of found blocks within minutes of new blocks when we are not at our computers:

There's Apps to get pool info and monitor your miners.

Apple App:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1344360.0

Android App, read in the thread here:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=789369.msg11091187#msg11091187

For miner monitoring:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1331875.0

Send any donation/whatever to them for using them - since they wrote them.

I do have and use the CKPool app so I get alerts on my iPhone but sometimes my phone is MIA. So I was wondering if there was an email alert that could be setup.

does anyone have the firmware files saved
its imposible to get them from bitmain

And here I thought it was just me. Every time I attempt to download the firmware update from earlier this year I get an error message. Anyone know how to get the files directly from bitman?
