1  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.info wallet big bug on: June 21, 2018, 12:25:11 AM
I have been in communication with the team over a similar issue whereby I was able to access my legacy imported wallets with the second password but the same password was unable to be applied to the wallet generated by blockchain.info.  I have a fair amount in that wallet which was transferred as recently as start of 2017, I was also able to withdraw from my imported wallets using the second password as late as June 2017.

Their answer is not just unhelpful but also degrading and I m going to take legal action against these guys to make sure when they upgrade next time they do this properly.  If anyone would like to join me in this petition and possibly lawsuit against them, please PM and email me at petitionblockchaininfo@gmail.com

I am talked with support they cant help. I try to login with my first and second password after i entered both they redirecting me to main page without allow me wallet update. Does anyone with big reputation could try to login and check ?

You could deposit USD Tether to any bitcoin address if you know. If you have access to bitcoin wallet privatekey you could use your bitcoin wallet to accept bitcoin or usd. I sent USD Tether to their bitcoin address by mistake and ask them to refund it. They could do it because they had access to their wallets but they reject and hold my money. This is problem.
Here is payment confirmation https://omniexplorer.info/lookuptx.aspx?txid=a82d7b98f38eff138a921557dd9a49e33372d261155729cff830f9f373c6940a

PS: Its my money and they should return it but not hold it for 4 months. All trades could return money if sent by mistake. Even BTC-E return all money.

Hello everyone. localbitcoins.com took my money that was sent to their wallet generated on site. By mistake i sent usd tether to their bitcoin wallet. When i ask for refund they told me they will not do it untill march 2018. 25000$ HOLD TILL MARCH 2018. VERY BAD SITE. WILL POST THIS CASE ON EVERY BITCOIN FORUM

Here is log with support:

Hi!

I'm really sorry to hear this! I'm afraid right now we are unable to return the funds to you as that would require us to access the private keys of the wallet where the funds are in. Doing so would expose customer deposited Bitcoin at too great of a risk. We know that the current situation is not ideal and we hope to in the future be able to return such funds. We recommend you to contact us again in March 2018, hopefully by then we will have a process in place through which you can request your funds to be returned to you.

All the best,

Dear LocalBitcoins team,

If you cant give us private key of bitcoin address, just return money to sender's bitcoin address.

=========================================================================================================

Hi!

I'm afraid that our infrastructure only runs the Bitcoin software. We are unable to extract the private key and use it in other software, that is what the security risk is that we want to avoid.

For now we are unable to return the funds to you

I'm not sure whether to believe to this or not. I'm also using localbitcoins but as far as I know it's not possible to deposite any fiat currency on their site because they don't support that. You can deposit bitcoins and with sellers or buyers there you can transfer fiat currencies in direct contact with them, through bank transfer, credit card, PayPal or whatever else you agree. This is very strange, especialy the alleged answer from customer support.

Damn, this is really a hefty amount to be losing.

Unforutnately you did this yourself. Localbitcoins clearly only operates with bitcoin but somehow you still managed to deposit USDT into their system. While it is probably very easy for an individual to get these tethers when you hold the private keys, it's hard for a corporate since they have to take into account security and all that sort of stuff. But they did promise you March 2018, by which you can check back with them, which is better than nothing.

I heard that tether was hack or lost 30 million USDT that is why they are not let other people to exchange usdt into bitcoin until 2018..
i just found the thread here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2436765.0
This is i think the reason..
but if you just bought just now i think better to contact them to refund your money instead.. since you just bought your token with in the same day.. if not better to wait for 2018..  or wait for good news..

This has nothing to do with tether' hack.
I sent money on 09/11 and they replied to me at 16, as i see at post the hack was 11/19 so its not up to hack, they just hold my 25000$, and all trade sites give private key if they amount is more then 5000$. I ask to refund but they hold my money for 4 months. Its very very bad !!!

I am using localbitcoins from the past 2 years it is completely legit to me. By reading your post with the email attached as text. Support team is asking you share the private key details to access your wallet and check the transaction in your wallet.
You no need to wait like that if you share the required information you will get the support from but still sharing the private key details is not recommended to any btc users.

I already wrote to all, that i do not have problems with my passwords. I login with first one and when it asks me to continue to update wallet i enter second password and after it blockchain.info redirects me to login page again. I wrote to support they are not reply to me with solution to solve the problem , just common answers like reset password and etc. I think they just stole money from inactive account because i cant acces my wallet and i cant recover it because i have 17 mnemonic words but not 12. 17 mnemonic words they generate at 2013-2014 year.

You just said that when you login the site or the login page freezed and there's no error alert pops up? Like theres an email authorization alert?
If you have the seed or the private keys on your wallet then you can still recover it. Let us know if you still have it.
My login pase is ok, when i logged in i got popup screen to update wallet i click continue and i enter second password, after it i am waiting for new screen with 12 mnemonic words but it not shows me it and in 30 seconds site redirects me on main login page. I try lot of browsers same result.

Nope i have wallet from long time ago i think around 2014 too and have no problem loging in. Try sending an wallet ID to mail and login with it.
I am telling that i do not access it from 2014-2015, i access it now and its not allow me update to new one. If you used it from 2014 its ok but i do not use it for long time and now when i try to access it its not allow me to do it. Understand ?
