1st bath is now shipping today.
After getting devs to work out another DNS bug last night that was reverting DNS to mainland china address causing lockup, units are solid now, reflashing all of them. Also added tool to upgrade firmware within the web portal so does not have to be done with command line any longer as that would have made people lose their mind.
average seems to be 37TH/s@2098W in performance and 32.4TH/s@1823W in standard with 89F ambient.
Hey Philipma...I say this because of the above post from Blokforge...so wanted to ask the miners if they can confirm the 37TH/s@2098W. We will be shipping the 1st batch monday. We need to upgrade the firmware on all units this weekend prior to shipment due to DHCP lease rule code issue on some units. You should all receive tracking monday.
And this is why we do not dropship to customers, its our responsibility the units are functioning as expected prior to shipment if purchased from us.

So if the shipment gets to Blokforge first and then it is sent to the miners after they upgrade the software how does the tarriff come into play? Yes, these are running 36-37 TH/s @2098 give or take a bit depending on ambient temp. Correct, we paid tariff already on the miners in stock, pre-order pricing does not include tariff, willl be added at checkout if in the united states. PM me your pool info, we can point one there a few hours. blocksfactory is tricky as you need to really need to get the perfect difficulty level figured out and add to worker name, pool doesnt really like vardiff that much for some reason. |

let us know how these work. @ blokforge do these units have the premounted psu.
the beta ones I got have a loose psu. gospower is the name.
These are the same, gospower, but you can still consider them integrated since they do have the additional cables between psu and miner, for regulation, they are just not mounted to side of unit due to size. They are solid units, considering all the failures we heard of with the S17 psu's thus far, i would be more comfortable with these regardless. |

Hmmm I wonder if my beta models have had that issue come and go.
You can email us screen shot of your version and if so we can guide though update if needed, can jump on telegram with you. You will know if you have the issue, wont be able to access the machine any longer though network. Not sure if your beta has turbo mode or not, depending how beta it was. |

Given my Blokforge order for an A1041 was supposed to ship July 15-20, if it doesn't ship today (because of the weekend) I'll consider it officially late.
When the 921 first came out I ordered a couple from Blokforge. Those shipped late too and Blokforge blamed it on customs holding them. I liked ordering from Blokforge to support a U.S. business, but the markups for customs and doing away with credit card processing killed it for me. I've always gotten early or on time when ordering directly from manufacturer. We just got the first batch today, will run though testing and shipping ones that are to spec starting Monday, although we like to never ship late, we are at the mercy of the manufacturer to ship on time, but they are all swamped right now. |

So just to update, our attorneys in washington have not found any other exclusion requests at this time, if ours are the only ones that go in we will put up link for positive comments and support. We have multiple being submitted to cover multiple applications of the technology and interpretations. This is an expensive process and hopefully benefits the industry as it needs some help right now with current prices. We will accept high fives in return at the next consensus if it works out.

how fast for this to ship?
I have auc from the 800 series will they work?
shipping in about ten days, planes are pretty full due to xmas so will get out as fast as they get here. And yes its the same AUC. |

Just checking as it seems there were multiple drafts. Price is even better. Is there a model "A" meeting those specs or where they just typos? Is that an idea of what the recent firmware upgrades can do for the 921 miner?
model a and spec was old draft, the firmware upgrades are for the 8 series at this time. |

Well just got the email from Blokforge - not sure about others.
This is 399. This includes everything tariffs and taxes - does not specify shipping.
Notably though it may be a typo they call it the 921A, and it says 20+ TH/S @1700W.

Is BF applying for exemption as well? Should cover market wide for assembled hardware. Wonder how it's viewed with multiple requests for exemption. Your using lawyers for customs work? Not brokers?

Hmm, the "specifically ASIC chips" is a questionable area as China has NO advanced Foundries capable of producing 16nm and under chips. TSMC is Taiwanese-owned company and all of their advanced foundries are located in Taiwan. If you want to do business with TSMC don't even suggest to them as a joke that they (Taiwan) are part of China....
True Bitmain, Canaan, and others contracted TSMC to make their chips but technically the chips are not Made In China.
Substantial completion of the board is china, that is what matters. We have the same attorneys as another chip manufacturer that ships to china for processing and testing. Will be sorted out soon enough. |

But on a side note, ras pi got hit with tarrifs back in july (we import those as well) as they are part of an adp machine, they dont classify as full adp machine. 8473.30.20 Unless it includes crt. switched to bangalore supllier now no tariff, but still the same strange classification.

Sure, in the sense that you can write shell scripts, install software, serve webpages, etc.
But it would be impractical to use an antminer for anything besides mining.
Impractical yes of course, but customs definitions do not rely on practicality, just it can or cant be reprogrammed. |

ASIC-based miners however are much like a cash register or hand-held/desktop calculator. Yes modern ones offer high flexibility in addressing their core functions but in the end they are fixed-purpose data devices and both are charged import duty.
So after thinking about this, would you consider the xilinx zynq chip to be programmable? |

Now THAT is something I would fight in court!
I do not see any way that CBP can be justified in retroactively charging additional duty from that far back. There is no way an importer could be aware of them not being charged the correct fee because this ruling only came down last June. If CBP has a problem with the new duty fees vs the old ones - that is their problem.
While I am not a lawyer to me it would be the same as retroactively changing (increasing) the punishment for crimes -- that is definitely not allowed.
Do you think for 1 minute that they will try the same thing and go after companies because Tariffs got raised/enacted? Oh yeah, the automakers, steel users, etc would just LOVE that...
We have the same retroactive corrections, six figures as well, cant fight in court. At the end of the day, if you import, its your job to know what hts code to use, and correct the import docs if incorrect. The ruling is only technically a clarification of a status that already existed. This is a huge cash grab now for the gov, they will eventually hit every import from bitmain ever. Lesson learned i think is dont write a letter requesting a tariff classification ruling. I think people have no concept how much that one letter cost the industry. |

Its not arguing the classification, that is the correct one. It is the filing and pressure of the exclusion to the 25%. |
