1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Electroneum Relaunch on: December 14, 2017, 07:13:10 PM
The dump didn't seem as bad as I was expecting, especially considering the load balancer issues causing 504 errors when they first reopened. Could be a great time for a speculative buy  Smiley
2  Other / Off-topic / Re: Scariest World Problem on: December 11, 2017, 10:02:07 PM
Actually going back ontopic a bit, the rise of cryptocurrencies could cause some pretty serious social problems if government controlled currencies fail. How will countries balance the books when they can't print money (quantitive easing) any more?
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: STEEM is the New MySpace on: December 01, 2017, 04:14:09 PM
I agree they've gone too far with the minimalist design. Medium kinda works but even that is a bit OCD friendly. They have plenty of funds so they should be investing in a good Dev team to build out a great platform sooner rather than later.

Work hard and lead by example.
Set high standards.
Communicate clearly and efficiently.
Be fair but firm with decisions
5  Other / Meta / Re: How to Add image on Bitcoin Talk Post on: November 29, 2017, 06:01:32 PM
Yeah you need three more posts. Bitcointalk servers seem to be playing up and I think this might be causing an issue with the activity update. Unless it's just some kind of security delay on updating activity after post count.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: eth going strong on: November 29, 2017, 07:59:37 AM
Great to see ETH doing well. Only concern with long-term is if they can make solidity and the platform as a whole more developer friendly. Someone like EOS May or May not disrupt the ICO markets which would hurt Ethereum substantially.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA Lambos at the End of the year 2018! on: November 29, 2017, 07:51:45 AM
That would give it a market cap of roughly the same amount as Bitcoin has now. Anything is possible but I wouldn't spend too much time choosing colours and upholstery options just yet  Wink
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BTG] Bitcoin Gold Launch – 12th November 2017 (7:00 PM UTC) on: November 29, 2017, 07:44:56 AM
I don't know enough about the code or project to offer support or condemnation but malware bytes is awful. Had previous experience of them blocking a website and when we finally got a response they just refused to even look at it or fix the false possitive.

Again I don't know if that's the case here or not. Perhaps someone with technical knowledge and a stake in this project could reverse engineer the code and check outgoing connections to see if there is a problem or not.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Viewly ∙ A decentralized YouTube on: November 29, 2017, 01:13:42 AM
Interesting project but very technically challenging
It's going to take a huge amount of data storage and data transfer and I can't think of anything including ipfs is really suitable long-term. CDN might not be possible because of the huge data transfer fees for video. Ipfs last time I tested it (a few months back) is quite slow and buggy. It'll be interesting to see how this develops. Some more technical details on how you could scale a system would be interesting. Good luck with the project.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] COBINHOOD - ZERO Trading Fee Cryptocurrency Exchange on: November 29, 2017, 12:18:56 AM
What are the fees for the underwriting and ICO service. Couldn't find these on the website.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] (QTUM) - A Scalable PoS Smart Contract Platform - MainNet Complete! on: November 29, 2017, 12:14:59 AM
Are there any figures released as to which companies have ICO'd with this and how much they raised?
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ⭐️[ANN][AIRDROP][SALE] 😺 Kitten Coin - World's cutest crypto currency 😺⭐️ on: November 29, 2017, 12:07:59 AM
I love the "world's cutest cryptocurrency" line. Good luck with the project! It's the best name I've heard since the teresa may coin.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Where to go to find great team members? on: November 28, 2017, 11:54:44 PM
Freelancer and odesk if you want to outsource. Hard to beat LinkedIn for head hunting talent. One trick I did see was putting a job advert in the developer console of a website so if a web developer is poking around they'll see the message.
14  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: storing cryptocurrency on: November 28, 2017, 11:48:35 PM
If it's a smallish amount it's probably not worth the $100 to buy a hardware wallet. Use the coinbase vault, set up 2fa on your account and store your passwords on paper somewhere. If it is a larger amount then I'd second the recommendation for the ledger nano s, any hardware wallet will do. Make sure you purchase it from a reputable dealer.
15  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Favorite crypto exchange? Why? on: November 28, 2017, 11:33:48 PM
Bittrex, fast, simple, intuitive.
16  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: anonymosity of bitcoin on: November 28, 2017, 11:16:17 PM
Public keys can be tracked back and forwards. If you used id to buy the bitcoin like most places require there's not much anonymity. One work around is to exchange it for a more secretive currency like Monero or zcash, move it around a bit and then transfer back to bitcoin.
17  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to know when to sell? on: November 28, 2017, 11:05:29 PM
Technical analysis signals can help with market timings but because markets are generally appreciating and quickly it's hard to beat a hodl strategy unless you are really confident in your abilities and knowledge of the markets.
18  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin to be Taxed...... on: November 28, 2017, 10:53:55 PM
It'll be interesting to see how it is implemented on a technical level. I guess they would have to demand data from the exchanges and merchants.

Not good for investors but probably inevitable soon we or later.
19  Economy / Economics / Re: What Will it Take For BTC to Reach $1000? on: November 28, 2017, 10:45:21 PM
For it to lose 90% of its value from here, it would take a large event to drive fear into he markets. Dumping of the Satoshi wallets would do it. Perhaps negative legislation/taxation from the US. A critical bug or issue with the cryptography. The big five mining pools pull a 51% attack. All pretty low probability situations but no doubt there's plenty that could happen which is beyond preconception.
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WHAT DO YOU THINK OF ADSCASH? on: November 28, 2017, 10:34:45 PM
Don't confuse them with adcash who are a very successful pop under advertising network based out of Estonia.
