1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: HTMLCOIN Declaration for Public Usage on: December 02, 2017, 01:54:33 AM
Mais HTML coins are at Yobit, and they probably won't swap...
How can I swap manually?
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Segwit2X Cancelled on: November 08, 2017, 08:17:02 PM
Probably they realized that B2X would and up being just another altcoin due to the lack of support from the Bitcoin community in accepting the SegWit2X as the real Bitcoin chain.
I think that's is very important, because it will make Bitcoin stronger, and no one else will try to change the Bitcoin protocol without consensus of the community. Miners and a few exchanges and other companies are not the owners of Bitcoin. Of course Bitcoin needs to chance, but block size is not the most important thing in Bitcoin, it is its decentralization feature.
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Things to do after the SegWit2x hard fork (Poll) on: November 07, 2017, 07:50:55 PM
It is hard to know whether it will be safe to transact BTC or B2X right after the fork because the lack of replay protection. Coinbase said they implemented their own replay protection in their system, but who knows whether it will work properly. Maybe the best best to do thing is to wait before doing anything.
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SegWit2x hard fork and its consequences (Poll) on: November 07, 2017, 02:23:08 PM
As you guys know, coinbase is supporting the SegWit2x hard fork. When will be the best time to move bitcoin from private wallet to Coinbase?

If you are planning to move your Bitcoin to Coinbase, you can do it anytime before the hard fork. But don't leave it for the last hour, because the fork may occur before than it is planned, and Coinbase will suspend deposit and withdrawals some hours before the fork.
If I decide to sell my B2X after the fork, maybe I move my BTC there, so I can sell it as soon as possible, because looks like it will be launched with about 15% of Bitcoin price. I don't believe It will have a price higher than that soon, but I'm still not sure whether I'll hold both BTC and B2X, or whether I'll sell my B2X and buy more BTC to hold.
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SegWit2x hard fork and its consequences (Poll) on: November 07, 2017, 11:38:52 AM
I think we should all hold some portion of it. Maybe sell 50% of it and take some profit. The price of BTC should go down after the fork because there isn't anything major happening anytime soon.

I am under the belief that the only reason the prices have gone so far up lately is because of the forks that are continually happening. Bitcoin Cash, Bitcoin Gold, Bitcoin Segwit2x, what other coin exists that had 3 splits that give you extra free coins? It is insane. There isn't any other fork coming up I am aware of, so we should go back down to 3,000 to 4,000 price levels. Keep in mind price was in the 1,000 area for awhile.

Maybe there's another fork coming after SegWit2x. Bitcoin Silver, but it is not relevant.
Future market for Bitcoin Silver:

This is ICO on ETH chain, not a Bitcoin fork.

Thanks for the explanation. Actually, I didn't read about it because I think it's irrelevant. Maybe just another scam? It is very strange that they use the name Bitcoin in something related to ETH chain.

hi..when will b2x hardfork happen exactly?

Block 494,784. It is hard to say the exact day. It is expected to November 16 or 15, but it can happen before, just like for BGold fork. We have to keep our eyes on the news.

SegWit2x hard fork and its consequences
Thanks.

Thank you. I fixed it already. I don't know what that apostrophe was doing there.
9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SegWit2x hard fork and it's consequences (Poll) on: November 06, 2017, 08:54:12 PM
It's time to hold and wait, perhaps drink a beer or two..

... or three, or four, or five, or... It's hard to know how long will have to wait. Haha  Cheesy

I am not surprised most people are not sure what the outcome of the fork would be, so it seems holding the two chain would obviously be the best to do after the fork. Even Cobra, the co-owner of bitcoin.org and bitcointalk forum hope it does not end up being the last days of bitcoin and begs for a fork with a new POW algorithm in case the unthinkable happens. Phew! Just tired!! No wonder bitcoin cash has been pulling some weight in value in the past few days.

I'm not very sure about what to do, but probably I'll hold both and wait to see what is going to happen before making anything. I think it's not very safe try to sell BTC ou B2X just after the fork without knowing what could happen due to the lack of replay protection.
11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SegWit2x hard fork and it's consequences on: November 06, 2017, 04:38:53 PM
In my opinion I think I'll sell B2X to buy more Bitcoin cause everyone can easily know that the coins created from hardfork, BCH and BTG, often have good price right at the beginning but after that its price dumped very quickly so I think this time will be the same that B2X will only have good price at the start then it'll be dumped so I'll sell it right after I got it from the hardfork then buy some more amount of Bitcoin Smiley)

I also think that way, but i'm very concerned about the lack of replay protection. I fear that when I try to sell my B2X I end up losing my BTC.
I think that if B2X fails in replacing BTC, and that's what I hope to happen, the SegWit2X team will have to implement replay protection for B2X to coexist with BTC as an altcoin, because they wouldn't want their coin to die.

I would like to know what people here will do after the hard fork.

It seems that someone was wrong
14  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is a bubble? on: November 04, 2017, 09:06:58 PM
It depends on what you think is a bubble is.
If you think a bubble is something that reaches a high price and suddenly loses price for any reason, than yes, it is a bubble, and "popped" a lot of times. But always started to be  inflated again and became bigger than is was before.
But if think a bubble is something that is priced higher than it should be, and it would make the bubble explode, no, it is not a bubble. I think Bitcoin can be priced a lot higher than is is right now, because just a very small fraction of world population knows about bitcoin.
Everyone knows what gold is. They know gold is a rare metal and a limited resource, but nobody knows when it will not be found anymore on gold mines, and that's what makes gold to be so valuable. But Bitcoins is more "predictable". We know that only 21 billion Bitcoins will be mined. Now, imagine what would be Bitcoin price if at least 10% of the world knew about it and wanted to have it?
Asking whether bitcoin is bubble is so nonsense as asking whether gold is a bubble, in my opinion. Bitcoin is the "new gold".
15  Economy / Speculation / Re: How much BTC will fall in 3 days after Segwit2x fork in November? on: November 04, 2017, 08:39:18 PM
It's hard to say. I think there will be a correction, mas I don't know at what price.
16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Core 0.15.0.1 Released on: November 04, 2017, 07:25:09 PM
Why do people keep using that thing? Why would you do this to your computer? So many GB for transfering a bitcoin, my mind just hurts...

It is possible to prune the blockchain with Bitcoin Core Wallet. My "blocks" folder have only 511 Mb in size. It used to have 134 Gb before pruning.

was your conf file changed perhaps? i know there is an option there where u say 1 or 0 i forgot what it is, but it tells the wallet to download the whole blockchain instead of just referring to it online.

I needed to change the bitcoin.conf file. Actually, I created that file with just this line:
prune=550

550 is the minimum number for pruning, if I can recall correctly. Anything below this number with result in no prune.
17  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are We Dead Without China? on: November 04, 2017, 06:49:11 PM
I think that Bitcoin will survive with or without China. If all the cryptocurrencies activities was prohibited in China, Bitcoin would still find its way to the top. Miners would move to countries where Bitcoin is legal. Japan could be the new home of big miners.
18  Economy / Speculation / Re: $10.000 = 1BTC on New Year? on: November 04, 2017, 06:33:02 PM
I think it all dependes on what happens after the SegWit2x hard fork.
I hope B2X fails and keep the road free for the original and real Bitcoin go to the moon!
