1  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: FREEWallet.org SCAM ( Don't use any of their iOS or Android APP) on: December 21, 2017, 02:20:36 AM
I note these articles:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freewallet
https://bitcoinexchangeguide.com/freewallet/

If it's a scam, it's a REAL good one.

BTW some may note the team is in Estonia.  I confess to being ignorant and thinking Estonia was an eastern European country.  It isn't.  It's northern European.  They seem well ahead of the world in tech in a general sense in that they were the first nation in history to hold an election over the Internet.  I quote:  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Estonia

'Estonia is a developed country with an advanced, high-income economy that as of 2011 is among the fastest growing in the EU.[19] Its Human Development Index ranks very highly,[7] and it performs favourably in measurements of economic freedom, civil liberties and press freedom (3rd in the world in 2012 and 2007).[20] The 2015 PISA test places Estonian high school students 3rd in the world, behind Singapore and Japan.[21] Citizens of Estonia are provided with universal health care,[22] free education[23] and the longest paid maternity leave in the OECD.[24] Since independence the country has rapidly developed its IT sector, becoming one of the world's most digitally advanced societies.[25] In 2005 Estonia became the first nation to hold elections over the Internet, and in 2014 the first nation to provide E-residency.'

in their terms and conditions, they pretend to be in Hong-Kong, not Estonia:

is there an UP-TO-DATE list for NOV-DEC 2017 ?
With all the noise around the bitcoin for the last month, there is a multiplication of so-called "opportunuties" ofter with referal-style MLM or not.
What to think about www.inviaworld.com ?
or seen yesterday on Facebook sponsored add a future ICO postponed from Dec1st to Dec 15th 2017: www.envion.org so called scalable mobile mining (in containers)
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin fork in december on: November 22, 2017, 04:44:10 PM
About the forks, this article https://seekingalpha.com/article/4126873-bitcoin-unknowable-bubble?ifp=0
confirms what I was thinking about the fact that supporters of the bitcoin (believing that it will still be growing in value to reach prices like 100,000$ or I ever heard 1,000,000 (1 Million$)) ! Those affirmations rely on nothing concrete..because of the unlimited supply done by the unlimited forks and new at currencies...
"The second argument ("Bitcoin is scarce & limited in supply")is patently false. Bitcoin has undergone splits, and engendered dozens of other cryptos, with unlimited supply of such into the future. Bitcoin itself is divisible ad infinitum and, with forks, its supply is potentially unlimited."

And what if in a (near) future, the G20 or G7, decide in an effort to protect their central banks to ban the bitcoin and other crypto currencies or to ban their exchange ?

I leave the question open...
Bitcoin as it was born from nothing, nada, zero...can simply return to zero or casi...
It would ruin thousands of speculators though..but that would be the price to pay following them ...

They would say, it has always been told to invest just money that you can afford to lose..
I know, I know, but once you are in, with the bait of gain, many, including me have invested a lot of their savings, sometimes tenths or hundreds of thousands...

So what ?
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BTG going down, many bad rumors, what to think ? on: November 19, 2017, 04:29:04 PM
Despite all the bitcoingold bs and scam stuff going on, I think it'll still get it's pumps.

Let's just wait a bit more time, it could best reverse indeed...as there are more and more new investors starting now and wanting to take their chance too..
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BTG going down, many bad rumors, what to think ? on: November 19, 2017, 04:08:31 PM
I don't understand people supporting BTG from heart. They advocate BTG in every section of the forum, but when we ask the innovation provided by BTG system, they give no answet to us. Don't make yourself weak guys, ask questions to their developers.

Do not forget that most of the people are here to earn money, thus to speculate.
The more forks and new crypto they will be, the less rare will be the big money's like BTC and ETH.
Does it make any sense?

My opinion is that many speculators  think it's too expensive to buy BTC now to speculate and they will rather buy other currencies like the BTG or others.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BTG going down, many bad rumors, what to think ? on: November 19, 2017, 03:56:51 PM
Bitcoin gold is a scammy coin, a lot of people lost a lot of money because they exported their private key to another wallet provider, and they stoled all their bitcoins using the private key that they put in there.
Almost 7/10 people who claimed bitcoin gold exported their private key to there.
So many people lost their funds because of this, and you have to take in consideration that this makes people lost their faith in those free coins that the new forks were giving.
It would not surprise to see it going below $100 each one.

Ok, I know that, but this has probably (hopefully) nothing to see with bitcoin gold itself...otherwise, it would be like shooting a bullet in their feet if they are linked to tis scam.
Probably it's a lack of professionalism,  or simply having trusted the wrong wallet company without verification..?

Maybe once the rumor is passed, if nothing else bad happens anymore, the coin will go up again?

It's like the jaxx wallet having once been hacked, I think it was probably not the fault of Jaxx and if it was, the exploit has already been corrected.
It does not prevent me to have an up-to-date Jaxx wallet.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BTG going down, many bad rumors, what to think ? on: November 19, 2017, 03:49:55 PM
if we talk about BTG will find it a coin with few number of developers , miners and real project  so if you invest on it will be so risky .

problem about you is you get bought your BTG (if you get it for free can say just keep it ) so if you need to this (390$-520$) try to sell it fast with any lower price other wise just keep it no one know what will happen in future and when you enter ICO you must loss and learn from loss

I only bought by exchanging BTC on HitBtc, indeed, I never received any BTG for free but I think that my average buying price would be more around 145-150 $ because I bought only from 13t to 18th November, so, not 390$-520$..!

I think my entry price is correct...if the value goes up again..
On the contrary if it starts to go under the 100$...but we don't have a crystal ball...

That is why I asked avises from people who knw more than me and have more experience.

Thanks
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: B2X TO BUY ON HIT BTC !!! A huge bet on the future on: November 19, 2017, 01:52:00 AM
Don't buy B2X features, unless you wanna bag hold for someone.

Seriously, what is the point of buying it right now when you know the fork canceled? You would risk your money buying that feature for the coin that might never even get created?

Just invest into something else, there are so many undervalued alts right now.

What to think about BTG (bitcoin gold) ? I see it going down and down, and read many complaints, and bad rumors about it....

I read several complaints about either the BTGPool not paying the miners, the founder having a% of every transaction, scam wallet that were proposed on the official website and were removed after they stole millions, and probably more complaints...

Also rumors about having manipulated the price etc...(pump and dump scam )

If I have bought BTG ( so not received for free because I had no BTC and I'm newbie), @ 0.035; 0.034; 0.020 ; 0.019; 0.017 and 0.016 which is between 260-270$  and 130-140$ , (total 8.89 BTG), is it worth it to keep them in the hope of an increasing price, sell partially trying not to lose too much, or try to get rid of them ?

What do you think about all this?
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / BTG going down, many bad rumors, what to think ? on: November 19, 2017, 01:42:22 AM
19th November, BTG is still going down.
I read several complaints about either the btgpool not paying the miners, the founder having a% of every transaction, scam wallet that were proposed on the official website and were removed after they stole millions, and probably more complaints...

Also rumors about having manipulated the price etc...(pump and dump scam )

If I have bought BTG ( so not received for free because I had no BTC and I'm newbee), @ 0.035; 0.034; 0.020 ; 0.019; 0.017 and 0.016 which is between 260-270$  and 130-140$ , (total 8.89 BTG), is it worth it to keep them in the hope of an increasing price, sell partially trying not to lose too much, or try to get rid of them ?

10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: B2X TO BUY ON HIT BTC !!! A huge bet on the future on: November 18, 2017, 11:24:58 PM
yes, it seems that you all are right ...
I was not informed and as you said as a newbee, I bought, fortunately not too much , about 0.0357 BTC in 3 times, mostly at 0.0325, then 0.0315 and 0.3000..When I made the post, I could have sold @ about 0.031 nearly without losing anything, then I put limits, and saw the price always going down, and started to lower my limits, again and again...it was stressful as I saw the price go down to 0.029 then 0.026...and 0.025 with spikes sometimes hardly higher.
It took me 2.5 hours to sell half @ 0.02685 then 1 more hour to sell the rest by lowering again my limit to 0.02661...
I finally lost "only" 36.5 € but when I look now, the price is 0.023- 0.0235...and probably much lower tomorrow and after...

I find it a pitty that the platforms like HitBtc put it on trading, without being sure that it will continue, inducing many people in error, like I did trusting the platform and with a lack of information.

2nd bad experience in just 5 days trading bitcoins, and 2nd with HitBtc by the way: after 2 days just newbee and excited that I finally started (after having heard from the bitcoin already a few years and heard investing about 1 year or 9 months), I was tired and late at night, I wanted to buy some BTG and sent 0.04 quickly from GDAX to HitBtc...but in the hurry, I clicked and copied by mistake the adress in BTG, so I tried to sell BTC to a BTG adress...
Just a few seconds after I clicked to send it, I realized...and wrote them...
They pretended that it would take a lot of "labour" from several men, to retrieve it, so they would charge me 100 $ (!!)and that it could last 1 or 2 month !!
I wrote back asking for a commercial gesture and that I would agree to pay a "fine"( a fee) of 10% but not casi 50% of my deposit and argued that it would probably be not be so difficult and not take so much time.
After 2 days, they put already the BTC to my account but only 0.02338548 from 0.04...without any explanation or calculation to justify the rate.
Following my calculations, when I received the money, the BTC was +- at 7400, if they'd charge me even 100$ =0.0135135 even if they took the course of BTC at 7375 (13:45 UTC) 100$=0.01355932
0.04-0.02338548=0.01661452
They were charging me even more than 100$ (approx 22.9USD too much), probably they took in consideration the rate of the BTC/$ at the hour and day when I sent it and the rate was lower..

Well...I learned the hard way to start !
But I can only suggest the people to be cautious and double check everything.

If everything was so clear and safe with the blockchain, why is it so "hard" to reverse or to find such a transaction? Even when the adress is false and there is a mistake  , let's say in the numbers and letters or 1 missing ...where goes the money?? If there are so-called many verifications, why don't they (the verifying miners) return simply the money back to the sender's adress? Or why isn't it a verification of the currency adress or the integrity prior to confirm?
There must be a protocol set up in the future to prevent such mistakes or errors because ERROR IS HUMAN. And I wonder why in so many years, such "bugs" and improvements have not been already implemented long time ago.

Good night guys.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: B2X TO BUY ON HIT BTC !!! A huge bet on the future on: November 18, 2017, 05:42:54 PM
You can also lose money on BTC if you buy now and it crashes...
I bet that most of the so-called traders here like to gamble, anyway, no need to invest much but knowing it's money that you earned already on another trade for example or money you could afford to lose, why not give it a try ? Maybe just 100 $ or only a few dozens $?
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / B2X TO BUY ON HIT BTC !!! A huge bet on the future on: November 18, 2017, 05:07:31 PM
You can buy and trade Segwit B2X on hitBtc, I think it might be worth it as we have until 31 December to see if the fork really happens and I think there is enough time to see it happening.
I have read an article that mentioned : ""the activation of Segwit2x in the future isn’t impossible, no matter how unlikely it may appear now. Some analysts think the fork’s backers could file their grievances by supporting another project with similar goals (those aren’t difficult to find, given the increasing demand for scalable bitcoin solutions)"".

So buying now at 0.027 might be worth it just for speculation !!
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: B2X Tokens on: November 18, 2017, 03:50:15 PM
494782 or 494784?
Coinbase announced: "The Bitcoin Segwit2x fork will take place when block #494,784 is mined. This is projected to happen on November 16."
and also "Will a new asset be created following the fork?
Yes. The result of the fork will be two different blockchains, which means there will be two distinct digital assets."

So, if, as you wrote, the fork "dies out", what will happen to all the money invested by new people like me today or in the coming days in this B2X ?

Will we lose everything?
If I understand you, the people who buy it is just a bet on if it will survive or not??
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: B2X Tokens on: November 18, 2017, 03:10:09 PM
HitBtc is trading B2X: https://hitbtc.com/exchange/B2X-to-BTC
I don't understand: about 1 week ago , the fork was cancelled or postponed, then I saw that it would happen on 16 or 17th November.
Now on Bittrex I see as an update 17th Nov. that "The Segwit2x hard fork was called off and did not result in a chain split." https://support.bittrex.com/hc/en-us/articles/115002603211-Statement-on-Bitcoin-Segwit2x-hard-fork

So, how come that HitBtc is trading the B2X and that I was able to buy it today and how come Bittrex said that it was cancelled ?

I don't understand: will B2X stay and continue to be traded as any other cryptocurrency like for example the bitcoin gold or bitcoin cash and is it worth it to buy it now ...or why is it traded then?

What is the risk ?
The risk is losing all of your money.
[/quote]

Hello,

How can I lose all my money on a reputable and well renown platform? Are they not responsible for the coins that they keep for their customers ?

How can I best keep my coins even Golem (not supported by hardware wallet I think) ?

Also I think every time I withdraw my alt-coins from those platforms, they charge some fees or not?

17  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Is the "network" slow today? on: November 12, 2017, 06:36:14 PM

As soon as possible then, you should be moving your coins to a wallet which you control.  Otherwise any problem with their fee estimation system is a problem for you.  If you don't own the private keys, you don't own the coins.

Is there a risk to leave my coins and Alt-Coinson the trading platforms like Gdax, HJitBtc and Bittrex?

What is the risk ?

Isn't it better in case of hard fork from one of the currencies anyway?

Chris
18  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Is the "network" slow today? on: November 12, 2017, 06:29:12 PM
For me, it has been already nearly 6 hours and 6h30 that I sent from GDAX 0.04 and 0.01 BTC to HitBtc , Bittrex and Jaxx...still nothing !!
I wrote already to GDax support after 2h30 and 3 hours but still no answer...
What else can I do? Just wait I guess ...? How many more hours can it last ?
GDAX send the currency for free, I guess they pay the network fees by themselves?
