I think it is hard to find coins to HODL for the full of 2018 since the crypto industry is such an ever changing place but at least for the first half my bigger holds are:
1. DeepOnion
2. Neo
3. Ethos
4. ARK
Of course I have more coins than this but these are my bigger holdings that I think will grow in the beginning of 2018. I think it will be the time of the small cap coins going forward since a lot of new people are again coming into crypto. The word has certainly come out, I see Memes on BitCoin everywhere (not all positive but who cares) and as more and more come in they will hear about ALTs and how they are the future. There will surely be a lot fo pump and dumps so it will be important to find the coins that have a solid technological background and great marketing. Keep posting your picks, it is very interesting to read. Great thread!
It really exciting to see all undervalued coins are coming out from the shadow of know coins by next year. Im just holding PCC and FUDD at this time since it is not recognized by some investors that it's price are in the bottom line. and I believe that 2018 will be the year for them and I'll be rewarded of what I did. I am completely on board with Ark and Neo, solid coins with great tech and a realworld use (something investors will be taking more seriously in 2018). On the privacy coin front I would look at Spectrecoin, risen from $0.40 to £3.50 in a month because people are finding out about its solid tech. |

XSPEC. Price is currently rising but considering the LOW cap its still really early. Very healthy slow gains too, I think its gonna gain good value in 2018
In 2018 more people will get tech savvy with their investments and that is why Spectrecoin will shine. It has the most holistic privacy functionality. |

Potentially regarded as the most undervalued ICO in history which now ranks 3rd in ROI having just passed Ethereum is Spectrecoin. I am strongly inclined to agree with Spectrecoin. With privacy coins set to take centre stage in 2018 and Spectrecoin having the most holistic suite of privacy features, this coin is insanely undervalued at only $2

Why does everyone assume any marketing attempt is a scam? Just do the research and back up your facts before calling it a scam. I am by no means a member of the XSPEC team but it's simply a matter of benefiting everyone at the current moment by encouraging to buy now. With the current supply and market cap, it's value has the potential to go up at least 10x (very conservative estimate) because the tech supports it. Yes, the marketing is not up to a professional standard, but word-of-mouth can be a strong factor in pushing a new concept.
Woo, it's getting heated in here. Good to get a nice measured post. I think we can hope for 10-25x in 2018 and then in 2019 a push into the £000's. I would love to be wrong and we get there earlier. In 2018 investors will get more savvy about the tech rather than just relying on marketing spin and John Mcafee tweets. Under such scrutiny Spectrecoin's tech will prevail and prosper. |

I think many people have already alluded to it, but Spectrecoin has superior anonymity technology and with its low price entry point it is a complete no brainer!

Has to be Neo, simply building the best eco-system for the future with amazing partners and pays dividends in the form of gas just for HODLing in a wallet. Also privacy coins are rocketing at the moment. XSpec or Spectrecoin is the most holistic privacy coin but is currently under the radar. The market is beginning to take note hence the 400% price increase this week. When you look a the price of Monero, xspec is currently 200th of the price and is nicely priced for an explosive 2018

its not just a privacy payment but also a privacy platform! using end to end encryption its safer than Monero. (no matter what monero fanboys say...CIA tracked it back once...can do it again)
2) zcash
the father of the best encryption with its zk-snarks
3) monero
because its widely used and therefore got a high price. marketing makes it
FACT.....these are great coins. So take all that lovely privacy and anonymity functionality and sprinkle a little more and you get Xspec. It is about 200th the price of Monero and has just exploded 400% Even with your portfolio above, I challenge you to find a compelling reason not to have Spectrecoin in your portfolio, especially at these prices $1.60-$2.20. |

This is true. XSPEC has the most potential but the development really is too slow. When the new website is released then marketing will be given a boost - along with the price so it is still a good time to get in, rather than waiting for the next pump As more and more governments move to regulate there will be plenty of room for good privacy coins. Monero is the market leader but it would be hard to argue against Xspec being the tech leader. As new investors get more savvy they will spend more time looking for the right fit. I am extremely confident that the Xspec team will speed up development, especially in light of such a significant hike in the price in the last few days. |

It's just a shame that Tokenpay users may have to pay more for the privilege of using this technology. Wait til the new Spectrecoin client v1.4 is released (imminently!) and get in before the price gets any higher... |

XSPEC by far, anonymous transactions with obfuscation tor support, it's really undervalued.
This coin is finally getting the momentum it deserves. The tech is great and more holistic that Monero but at a very friednly price point. It has just jumped x3 in last week and with v1.4 imminent this beauty shows real potential. |

Spectrecoin [xspec] is you best choice.
It would be fair to say that Zcash and Monero are the most recognised and trusted privacy coins, but they cannot match Spectrecoin for functionality. It is simply THE most holistic privacy coin out there with a low entry price point and massive potential. As more and more governments consider some sort of restrictions around cryptocurrencies, the privacy coins will be the investors 'darlings' of 2018, with Spectrecoin firmly in the mix. |

There are two standout candidates for me - Spectrecoin and Neo. Spectrecoin is THE most holistic privacy coin but at a fraction of the price of Monero at present (under 1%). Once the marketing kicks in the potential is massive.
Neo is simply the smartest coin out there, ICO friendly, excellent eco system and pays gas dividends for holding in a Neon wallet and scratching your butt (about 6-7% dividend per year)

I would say XSPEC i.e. spectrecoin which is an advanced privacy coin. Currently trading around 50 cents but can potentially rise up there alongside monero. The privacy features are better but the marketing is worse. Eventually when the website is revamped etc.. it will rise - alot!
Don't under estimate what an established name can do though, just look at Bitcoin. Does Bitcoin have the best tech? No, but they have respect and a history. Look at the gain Monero saw yesterday, that wasn't due to technology, it was due to adoption in the music industry. Spectrecoin is interesting but it feels to be shilled very hard on these forums. It is fair to say that an established name will help to push the price up, but in the next 2/3 years a lot of well publicised coins will fall by the wayside because they don't have the fundamentals to survive. Xspec really has got superior tech and in comparison to Monero is a more holistic privacy coin. Surely it is great to have great tech and a good community and then focus on the branding? As investors we want quality coins which will be here for the long term with a practical use. |

Keep an eye on private coins, as there will be more government regulations in 2018, private coins will gain more importance such as Monero and Dash.
Spectrecoin has all the functionality as Monero but with a fully integrated Tor+OBFS4 layer for network privacy. Its cheap right now with new wallet release on the way - good for x5 in a year at least. |
