As with most things, there are risks. The price of shares is driven by supply and demand, and the dividend is driven by ASICMiners ability to maintain market share in the mining network.

They intend to scale up their mining operation as time goes on, and as difficulty increases, and they hope to maintain a roughly fixed percentage of total hashing power. This means that the dividends should be somewhat predictable.

I'm bullish on ASICminer because I believe in the approach they take. But, I dont care much for peoples opinions on what the "true" price should be, since all that matters is the current price, and your current opinion on whether that price is high or low.

In the end, we are all here because we want to get involved with the community some how, and the community has a reputation for being a great source of bitcoin info. If newbs like me could just make junk posts etc from the moment they register, then spammers would be all over it creating multiple accounts and submitting junk.

This safeguards the community, and makes you appreciate why you wanted to join in the first place.
3  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BTCT.CO - Google 2 Factor Authentication on: June 13, 2013, 08:53:26 PM
Thanks, thats pretty much what I thought. It makes sense that there is no easy way to remove it, but at the very least, I kinda hoped that Google would give me a way to make a change on their side.

I really like the idea of 2fa, but its quite risky making a mobile device a single point of failure, (dead device, stolen device etc)

Seems like there should be some way on the Google side to manage this, rather than putting the onus on burnside et al.

I'll send him a PM about it and let you know how I get on.

Hey,

Does anyone know if its possible to remove 2fa from my account at BTCT.CO? I can login just fine, but my galaxy s3 died, and its being repaired, so I dont have access to 2fa for authorising trades --- looking to spend some of my recent dividends Wink

The account page seems to offer the option to revoke the current 2fa settings, but it also seems to require an auth code to do this, which leaves me stuck a bit.

See the upper table.

Yeah, I'm not sure I would trust that table. At the very least, I wouldn't make any financial decisions based off of it...
