1  Economy / Lending / Re: Suggestions for newbies w/ no collateral: asking at risk of eye rolls/snark on: November 17, 2017, 02:57:24 PM
Thank you for your thoughts and perspective. For the record, I did not make a formal ask in the forum, but given the replies, I will not make that mistake w/o collateral. Thanks again.
2  Economy / Lending / Re: [EDU] How to spot a scammer (Read this before lending your coins!) on: November 15, 2017, 01:33:38 AM
I agree with many of the items on this list. But, why items 3 through 8? I think that for items 3-7, if you are genuinely new to this and not a scammer, you would not know any better, especially 5-7

3. Use of a seemingly realistic first/last name as their forum account name
4. Signs posts with full name
5. Straight out of Newbie mode right into Lending (requesting a loan of course)
6. Straight out of Newbie mode right into Currency Exchange (PayPal, Liberty Reserve, Western Union)
7. Straight out of Newbie mode and selling gift cards/codes/Steam games of any kind (they'll often be purchased with stolen CC info, leaving you holding the bag later on down the road)

I'm also curious about number 8:
8. Any user blatantly claiming to be female

How did that come about? Are those who are genuinely female screwed?

Again, I'm a noob and just trying to understand...

Has anyone had any experience and/or success with this lending site?
4  Economy / Lending / Successful Funding on Nebeus? on: November 14, 2017, 11:54:29 PM
Has anyone had a successful funding through Nebeus.com? They say that plenty of loans are funded, but I'm not sure about that...
5  Economy / Lending / Suggestions for newbies w/ no collateral: asking at risk of eye rolls/snark on: November 14, 2017, 11:44:54 PM
Hi,

I'm new to the board, I have been looking at the threads for the past few days (full disclosure, I am looking for a bitcoin loan, but have not placed a formal request... see below).

One thing I've noticed is that there are hardly any lenders willing to give a loan to a new person without collateral. I get it, and the reasons I have seen given are valid. But at the same time, how can a newbie who has no collateral establish some kind of credibility for lenders? Aside from paying a higher interest rate, what can a newbie do to at least get a second glance or further consideration? ID? Paystubs? A formal contract? Nothing at all?

I realize that this may be a completely idiotic question, but I'm just curious. Thanks for your time.
