And doing what?  I am curious what coin you found that has a brighter future that ZEN.  I am still here because my secure node is my second best earner.  My best earner is in staking.

Are you buying any other hardware to replace your miners?  I find it hard to believe that Zencash was the ONLY profitable coin for you.  And now that Equihash is dominated by ASICs, all other GPU algorithms should give up?

I am not happy about being pushed out by the ASIC.  I havn't mined ZEN for 1 month  6 days.  But I do understand that the dev team needs to do what's best for the coin, not me.

My Engineering professors never ranted how stupid I was, instead they enlighten me.  Mind following their examples?

For the month of August, my secure node averaged 0.048325 ZEN/day.  The APR came out to 37.26%.  The APR is lower because I have more than 43 ZEN in the wallet.  I started with 43 ZEN back in December 2017.  I have been collecting ZEN in the wallet trying to figure out what to do.  At my current rate, I could start another node in 03/08/2020.

Since any balance over 43 ZEN is not contributing to it's growth, I am not sure APR is a valid metric for this type of investment.

The developer cashed out and left (scam part).  This coin became dead around pages 9-10.  You can mine all you want, run all the masternodes you want, but there is no future to it.  Without any developers, leaders, or road map, where is this coin going?  masternodes.online shoing the coin slowing to a halt since May.  It was a scam coin before May, now I would call it a dead coin.  I have 36 BHD that I have mined and now I am trying to figure out what to do with it.

I agree that there is no such thing as ASIC/FPGA Resistance.  How about ASIC/FPGA impractical? uneconomical?

I saw a new algorithm supported by z-enemy called Hex.  To make a Hex ASIC/FPGA, you would first have to implement each of the 16 algorithms in hardware, then make a sequencer to select a different algorithm every block.  The transistor count would be 16 - 20 times that of a current ASIC/FPGA.  Why would a ASIC/FPGA manufacturer sell one miner at an increased cost when it can sell 16 different miners?

Hex is the first algorithm I have seen that is the closest to ASIC/FPGA Resistance as can be.  The coin using it is another masternode shitcoin with a few other original ideas.  Long term I don't see a use for this coin, but my mining revenue is higher than whattomine.com for the first time this year.  And 46.6% more revenue than mining Zencash.  Now I need to find an exchange to convert XDNA to ZEN

I am looking for some documentation on the API in order to adapt GGS to my scripts.  I found "SUMMARY", "CONFIG", and "DEVS".  I need a command that returns the currently mining URL.  Hopefully in for format "pool:port".  Thanks in advance for any help.

I wanted to share with the other investors my results for July staking.  Instead of wild ass predictions or blowing smoke up your ass, here are my top producers for the month of July:

1. XLR @ 55.0% APR.  My wallet grew from 201.65 to 210.9 XLR.  Waiting to see if txbit.io will let me mine directly to it.

2. ZEN @ 37.2% APR. My wallet grew from 44.3 to 45.7 ZEN.  This will decrease to about half as the year progresses.  This is because the secure node only needs 43 ZEN to run and the reward does not change based upon the amount of ZEN.

3. PPC @ 1.6% APR.  The documentation says I should be getting 1%.  I am probability lucky this month.

4. PINK @ 0% APR.  No staking rewards this year.  The staking calculator says I should be getting 21.2%, but the payout will happen once every 244 days.  Been mining this coin all year with a pair of moonlander2.  The wallet is hogging CPU time.

5. LUX @ 0% APR.  Just started mining this coin.  The staking calculator says I should get 8.34% APR.  But at my current balance of 12 LUX, the payout will happen in 216.8 days.  I had more LUX, but I traded them for 14 XLR.

My plan for August is to mine LOKI, LUX, RYO, VIVO and exchange them for XLR.  Staking XLR will remain the most profitable for the rest of the year.  At block 648000, the reward drops dramatically.  This should happen in the January of 2019. 

I have about 226 XLR right now.  The last 50 stakes happened on average,  13 hours and 52 minutes apart.  The Average payout was 0.174 XLR.  Having more XLR than me, your payouts should be slightly more frequent than mine.

Currently using HTTP.  It was the quickest to get working with my custom scripts.  But I could use either and you should add this information to both (for wider range to customers).  The best solution would to to imitate ccminer's API.  Every monitoring software works with ccminer.

1. The hard fork cause the block chain to be down for over a week.  The devs decided to fix the code instead of rolling back.  Several investor got worried during the down time and left.

2. It took awhile for whattomine.com to add PHI2 to it's list, so it lost visibility to miners.

Give it time, it will recover.  Staking still gives you 8.34% APR.

Testing version 0.5.1 hash rate is 17% higher than ccminer 2.3, but I need improvements in the API before I can deploy t-rex to my machines:

1. Need to add GPU Temperature to the API.  I have had fans already fail and this is my only indication that is GPU is over-heating.  The increased profit is not worth the risk of burring up a $600 GPU.  ccminer does this already, you can check the code to see where to get the information.

2. Need to add URL to the API.  I switch coins.  I mine multiple coins.  I use the API to double check what each miner is doing.  I need to be able to extract the server name and port from the API (for example: mine.loki.fairpool.xyz:5577).

I also noticed that "gpus" "intensity" is always zero in the API.

I run a small mom n pop mining operation out of my garage in California.  Nothing the size of your copper colored rigs (those pictures were sexy).  I have been evaluating what to mine and decide to fork away from the equihash algorithm.  I can not compete with Z9s, nor want to pretend to.  I reinvested my mining profits from last year into a zencash securenode.  Mom says I need to payoff the GPUs before I can buy anything else and I don't want to sell my zen securenode to fund a few Z9s.

My plan is to mine PHI2 and CryptoNight-Heavy coins.  We are having a heat wave this summer and my GPUs were running 78 degrees C mining equihash.  Now they are running at a cool 66 degrees C. I could move closer to the beach, but mining ZEN is not enough to pay for a Malibu beach house.

I will still keep my secure node running.  Looking forward to the increased rewards.

If Zencash forks away from ASICs and my GPUs can mine the new algorithm (some of my cards only have 3GB of ram), I will be mining ZEN again.  Otherwise I will be monitoring this thread to keep my secure node up to date.

I got into mining August 2017.  After researching and working on a business model, I found the margins were too small for me to make it a successful business.  I convinced my wife that this will be a hobby.  I bought a used Bitmain S3 and built a multi-GPU rig.  The plan was to reinvest the mined coins.

By December 2017, I mined enough coins to start a Zencash Secure node https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2047435.0.  Since January 2018, I have been mining and exchanging to Solaris (XLR) coins in order to start a masternode https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1831629.0.  I have been experimenting with staking XLR in an Unbuntu wallet.  Recently I found that Luxcoin (LUX) https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2422372 that is profitable to mine and also supports staking.

Here is the interesting part, 1/3 of my weekly coin acquisition comes from the wallets, and 2/3 from the CPU/GPU miners.  Coins that I mined and HODL are at their Oct 2017 price.

Be careful running at home.  Running both the CPU and GPU 24/7 will increase your parent's power bill.  I had a very uncomfortable discussion why our power bill jumped and extra $300.

My wallet also stopped syncing two days ago.  I updated to 5.03 and didn't fix the problem.  I only had 3 connections.  I added the following nodes to my lux.conf and my wallet is syncing again.  Now my wallet is running at it's max connections.

Best is very subjective.  The three I have used are luckpool.org, mining.miningspeed.com, and us.zenmine.pro.  My current favorite (NOTnecessarily the best) is us.zenmine.pro.  All three have paid me what I have mined and would recommend.

I just compiled 5.0.3 CLI wallet under Ubuntu 16.04.4 LTS successfully.  Did not change any libraries since compiling with 5.0.2 wallet.  Wonder is this is a GUI issue?

Devs, Can you officially confirm or deny Ubuntu 16.04 support?

What coins?  Can you name them so that I can research them?  Every since PoW stopped for XLR, I have been looking for other coins to invest in.  Here are a few that I am looking at:

BridgeCoin (BCO) https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2015949.0.  This is crypto-bridge.org own coin.  I have been mining high profit coins directly to crypto-bridge's wallet.  I can then use the exchange to convert them into investment coins.  If I stake BCO, excluding fees, I can make 8.6% APR.  Not high, but better than a 12 month T-bill.

Zencash (ZEN) https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2047435.0.  My secure node only cost me 42 ZEN and is running on an used computer.  The profits from the month of May 2018 come out to 19.0% APR.   The VPS hosting was costing me a third of my profits.  I dropped my VPS and bought a used computer on https://www.tanga.com/ for $58. Last this year, Zencash is doing a fork to increase securenode profits and introduce a supernode (500 ZEN).  Of my 50 ZEN, only 43 are actively generating revenue.  Trying to decide to either HODL the extra ZEN for a supernode or exchange them for another coin.

Luxcoin (LUX) https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2422372.  This is the coin I am currently mining.  Masternode currently coast $125,252 (out of my budget).  Staking is claimed to be 50% APR.  Darksend coming soon.  Great marketing and social engagement.  Roadmap end 2018 Q3.  The price right now is being drive by 2x rewards for staking.  At block 100K, I predict a price crash.

Solaris (XLR).  For the month of May 2018, my ROI was 54.36%.  This is not predicted, but actually measured.  On 5/1/2018, I had 145.292 XLR. On 6/3/2018 it grew to 155.848 XLR.  This is the highest ROI I have found.  The ROI will slowly decrease over the year, unlike LUX that will be half one morning.  Masternode only cost $3550 ( 1/35th of a LUX masternode). The roadmap goes to Q4 2018.  Zerocoin protocol already active.  Additional revenue from txbit.io toward the end of 2018.  New Advisors .

My plan:  Mine 1 LUX and convert them to 2.18 XLR.  Convert VRM coins from last year (CPU mining) to XLR.  Find an efficient way to convert USD to XLR.  Gather 1000 XLR  for a masternode and watch my ROI increase 4x.

Both LUX and XLR have good ROI for staking.  LUX is hot right now. Once the hype dies down, to will probability be like DMD.  XLR looks like a better long term investment.  Price is lower than DMD and LUX.  It has more uses today and more opportunities in the pipeline.  My personal wish is that XLR drops to $1 so I can buy more and get my masternode sooner. Or better yet, go back to the price it was when I was mining in in Oct 2017 ($0.562/XLR).
