1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CLAM] CLAMs, Proof-Of-Chain, Proof-Of-Working-Stake, a.k.a. "Clamcoin" on: November 21, 2015, 02:23:08 PM
If I/we were to clone the original CLAM client and move the snapshot back 1 year, how many coins will you, I mean Dooglus, I mean BayAreaCoins lose ?

Are you suggesting that dooglus, superclam, and BayAreaCoins are the same person? or that they are working together to somehow benefit?

Then I found it only worked on a single OS which rapes you.

I have used windows PCs for almost 25 years and that has never happened to me.

maybe you are not using it correctly?

I get it, i miss android poker too....but posting complaints every couple of days bashing windows and swc isn't going to change the situation.
3  Economy / Gambling / Re: SwCpoker.eu | No Banking, Only Bitcoin | Bitcoin Poker 2.0 LIVE NOW! on: October 23, 2015, 01:07:36 PM
IMO, as long as SWC can get their Android app out before Betcoin their traffic will come back. If not, I think the room may be in trouble. I know SWC is working hard to do so, and hope they can pull it off!

Is Betcoin making an android app?!  That's actually amazing news if only because perhaps it will light the fire under these guy's asses (9 months for a beta-version poker app is a little on the slow-side, amiright?).  I've had trouble getting betcoin to work on my linux desktop but I'm going to check them out again if they're finally adding android.

They said they're doing Android and iOS but, like SWC, there is no ETA. So could be a month. Could be years, Tongue.

They were saying that when sealswithclubs went down. Has there been a new announcement?
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CLAM] CLAMs, Proof-Of-Chain, Proof-Of-Working-Stake on: August 29, 2015, 07:15:44 PM
Is there a place where I can borrow some CLAMs?

loan shark?

What is that?

I googled it... nah I don't want to deal with mafia

I think that a loan shark is anyone who loans at a usurious rate. My comment was meant to be more of a pun than a suggestion as I didn't take your request to anonymously borrow crypto currency seriously.

I like these charts and interesting datasets , is there a way to produce them myself?

I use the clamd daemon to get the stats about the moneysupply. Every block has a record of the totals when that block was accepted into the chain.

I use a script like this to dump the data into a file (where cc is an alias for 'clamd'):

Code:
b=$(cc getblockcount)
b1=$(($(head -1 ~/Documents/clam/getblock.dat | awk '{print $1}')+1))

echo "dumping blocks $b1 to $b" 1>&2

while ((b >= b1))
do
    echo $(cc getblock $(cc getblockhash $b) | grep -e height -e supply -e time -e difficulty | awk '{print $3}' | tr -d ,)
    ((b -= 1))
    if ((b % 100 == 0))
    then
        echo $b 1>&2
    fi
done

It fetches details for the blocks which were staked since I last ran it, so I don't have to repeat work I already did on old blocks.

Does that help?

I have never done it before, but I am confident that I can figure it out from those instructions. Thank you very much!

Updated digging chart:

Most interesting. I'd be much obliged if you could post the full chart so I could get a sense of the proportion of the recent digging,

Sure thing Graham!

I included the other source of new CLAMs too: staking:

Can you post a list of BTC addresses somewhere?  I have a theory on where they came from that i can check.

Here's some of it. The full list is at http://privatepaste.com/2b3f383378

Thanks I think I know how this digger came to have so many addresses now.

"drumroll, please!"

...
[drumroll continuing]
...
...

Well, don't leave us hanging!

Sorry, I should have been clearer. I don't know anything concrete but I believe that these addresses came from operating a mining pool in the end of 2013/early 2014.

- if we are saying many people should benefit from the dig, surely there should be a limit on clam clients on how many addresses they can dig, daily or over the lifetime

I don't think this point was fully addressed in SuperClam's answer.

Note that the CLAM client is open source. Any limit we put in the client could easily be changed or removed.

There is no network consensus rule about "digs per client per day", and there cannot be, because it is impossible to tell clients apart from each other.

To spend an initial-distribution output all you need to do is sign a transaction that spends it. Each initial-distrubition output was created using the BTC (or LTC, or DOGE) address' public key, and so to spend it you need the corresponding private key.

Any exploit that is able to spend other people's initial-distribution CLAMs on the CLAM blockchain would also be able to spend their BTC on the BTC blockchain, since exactly the same mechanism is used in both cases.

Yesterday I spent some time looking at the BTC addresses which were "dug" recently. I fed them into https://www.walletexplorer.com/ which calls itself a "Bitcoin block explorer with address grouping and wallet labeling". The idea is that for each BTC address you give it, it tells you which site's hot wallet the address is in.

It was unable to identify the wallet of very many of the dug addresses I tried. It was only able to identify the wallet of about 1% of the addresses I looked up, and in every case it identified them as being in the BetVIP.com wallet. BetVIP appears to have launched in March 2014 and shut down in June 2015. Here's a video of its founder talking in April 2015, claiming (at 0:30) that it officially launched in June 2014. I guess it's possible that their hot wallet was stolen by or sold to the digger, or that someone from BetVIP is the digger.

It seems unlikely that a relatively unknown site that launched just 2 months before (or one month after) the CLAM snapshot could have received 3% of the CLAM distribution, and so it remains a mystery where the bulk of the addresses have come from.

I'm not sure how accurate or complete walletexplorer.com is, but I would expect it to have shown up at least one hit on the MtGox or BTC-e wallets if it was them who were digging...

Can you post a list of BTC addresses somewhere?  I have a theory on where they came from that i can check.

Why won't anyone deny or confirm then that Brandon Casten is possibly the new owner of swcpoker or always was a partner? Maybe no association at all?

Why won't you gag on an enormous dick until your eyes roll back in your head?

an *anonymous* dick

i get that they guy's effort is based on having a greater level of confidence, but.....STOP TRYING TO PUBLICLY IDENTIFY PEOPLE WHO MAY BE TAKING A RISK TO PROVIDE US WITH POKER!!!!!

for years, i always felt confident leaving significant amounts of money in my Seals account.  this was a combination of a stellar track record and the fact that i knew that if they shut down and took everything, at least i had one person to hold accountable.  both of those things are now gone. that doesn't mean that i wont play on the site (as soon as it is available on browser/android), but it does mean that i am less likely to leave a significant amount of money on the site

Micon pled guilty today, in exchange for no jail time, probation, can file to have his record reflect a gross misdemeanor instead of a felony, $25,000 fine, and he agreed to allow Nevada to keep $900, 3 Bitcoins, and electronics that they confiscated.

could they at least give him his microphone back?  i miss donkdown.... and then he could go on the air and criticize the NGC like Ace Rothstein in Casino.

I will base my actions on what Micon does.  If he decides to stay in Antigua and continue to improve SwCPoker then I will continue to play there.  If he decides to go back to Nevada then I might withdraw my funds.  It sounds like a tough decision for him.

Dont forget that micon did not do anything illegal as he was the spokesman of sealswithclubs.eu and did not own or operate the site.

I have nothing but confidence that micon has a contingency plan to ensure that SWC players get their money in the event that he becomes unavailable.
17  Economy / Gambling / Re: SwCpoker.eu | No Banking, Only Bitcoin | Bitcoin Poker 2.0 LIVE NOW! on: April 17, 2015, 12:00:20 PM
Micon,

As you were a member of ST6 I am asking you to help make this right to affected players.
Thank you

Please see my latest post in the sealswithclubs thread here. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=40077.6080 and quoted below.

"I have been a loyal player on seals for a while now. I knew while playing that some days collusion happens, but I trusted seals would do the right thing as they always have. In June I received  ~ 300 chips in collusion refunds. Since then players have received NOTHING!

We were told the backlog would be paid out early this year.
This 8 month backlog still has not been paid out to affected players and I played a lot during this time.

*SNIP*

I am asking you to make this right,
Thanks
"

You got 300 chips??? I got 27 chips all time and i played enough over 2 years to accumulate 200k krill........

1)  Mac & Android clients will be dev'd at the same time.  We are going to fix our connectivity issues first.  They are almost done, and yes, we all want them ASAP

Just for clarification, do you mean that the clients for android and mac are almost done, or they are almost done solving the connectivity issue and then will begin working on clients?

3) I <3 so much what "WearsMyLiberty" is doing.

I <3 so much what Brian Micon is doing.

20  Economy / Gambling / Re: SwCpoker.eu | No Banking, Only Bitcoin | Bitcoin Poker 2.0 LIVE NOW! on: April 03, 2015, 11:52:41 AM
the order of big things to do at SwC:

1)  connectivity
2)  mac client
3)  android client
4)  linux client
5)  HTML 5 client
6)  every game and feature glitch & I can think of

ETA on linux client, ~3 months

Unless it's related to the skillset of your current development team I don't understand why this is the order.  I would think that HTML 5 would be number 2, as it brings SWC to the greatest number of users.

I know that this is a highly controversial topic...this is not meant to restart the "which OS is better" debate.
