1  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: GAW ZenCloud ZenPool Hashlet - does it really exist? ALWAYS MAKE MONEY :-) on: October 12, 2014, 08:28:44 PM
LOL good stuff hey im glad you said something about hashpoints how do you use them? I see no option in my dashboard do i need to have so many to use them or do i need a certain hashlet to use them

Technically you should be able to apply them towards a new hashlet purchase, if you make that purchase in ZenCloud - there is a checkbox for that in the checkout process. But I've seen someone complain that hashpoints don't get applied even when that checkbox is checked. Not sure if this had been fixed yet, so be careful.

Yeah, I had about 21k+ hashpoints that weren't deducted when I purchased some Zen Hashlets. Definitely had the box checked too. Submitted a ticket pretty quickly about it, but still waiting for a response.

I got my Week 4 Fury delivered yesterday. It was sent overnight Fedex (I chose the free ground shipping).

This Fury is unbranded and did not come in the nice little Gawminers box. Just tucked in an ESD bag along with the cables and a power supply that differs from the ones I got with my week 1 & 2 Furies.

Not sure if these will get boiling hot since I run my units off a PSU.

See it's posts like these that make me very cautious on wanting to purchase from them.  Knowing my luck ill be in the same boat as you.

I've read quite a bit about the hosting problems of GAW and this and a few more just add's to it.  I still want to try a Fury out for shits and giggles to see how it performs and check out the UI,  I had planned on the bigger scrypt miners, but I am not going to pay 4k and have it sit there.

Exactly why I got a hosted week 4 Fury was to test it out. I have multiple Furies running in my office just fine (on NiceHash), but this hosted one is acting up. The UI seems more basic than even the Zenminer UI, and that's saying something. Still cannot get the hosted Fury to hash at NiceHash since it just resolves to the yellow exclamation. Doge & Clever seem to be alright. Just very strange, ah well.

I will sit it on clevermining until I get a response to the ticket I put in.

Yeah, not sure what the deal is with my hosted Fury. I can get it to hash Clevermining and a dogecoin pool, but it will not connect to nicehash at all.

I've deleted/added the pool a few times, and the address is definitely correct as well. Just sits and spins to a yellow exclamation icon.

Not having a great experience with getting a replacement unit sent to me. My week 1 Fury died, and I worked with Amanda to get an RMA issues, etc.

I sent it back via USPS (it was delivered June 9th), and the last response I received was on that day that a shipment was created for me and once tracking was available Amanda would let me know. One week later, a few replies to the open ticket plus a PM to Josh on the hashtrader board, and I'm still absent a Fury or even a tracking # to let me know it was actually shipped. Sort of frustrated since everything started off completely smooth with the RMA process, and then just hit a wall.

Going to cross my fingers some more.

Serenity now!

EDIT: It appears my replacement Fury was shipped with the week 4 Fury I ordered as I just received an Overnight Fedex tracking # with two Fury units assigned to it.

The primary issue with the power consumption boost is that a 'firm' number wasn't documented till after Week 1 units were delivered to people. If they are in fact using the same units for hosting (cases, chips, etc.) then they should have been well aware of the power draw prior to release since it was posted that they had the actual fury/widow/falcon/war machine on hand during the pre-order phase.

There was a change in the power consumption needs on the store pages a week or two ago after Gaw CEO posted about a 10-15% increase in power + hashing speed, so this is a second bump in the power needs for these ASICs. This newest one ultimately more egregious since it wasn't pointed out till people had the units in hand.

I only a Fury (and two week 2 coming next week), and the power brick that came with it gets pretty damn hot. I can only imagine trying to cool down the PSUs for the bigger machines!

Yeah, according to Eric there is no root access to the device with the zenMiner software loaded onto the Pi so the username/password are pretty useless.

Looks like the UI has been upgraded a bit! It now contains pool results (Accepted Shares/Rejected Shares/Discarded/Stale/Diff1 Work/Get Failures/Remote Failures) on the Miner screen.

It's a start in the right direction.

Anyone have some screenshot of the zenMiner in action, hashing away with GAW hardware?

It's very plain as far as information goes.

Outside of not being able to use a usb wifi adapter, the zenminer is up and running for me today.

Beyond basic with the stats given, but it shows my Fury hashing at 1.31MH/s on clevermining. I was up over 1.4MH/s with the clock set to 350 on cgminer so I would assume the zenController sets it at the 'optimal' 328?

If a more detailed status screen, and the ability to use a wifi adapter get put in I'll be happy. Currently, I might have to go back to tossing it on my pc rig (on wifi) or try some other Pi controller. Other than that, the Fury is rocking it!
11  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: ZenMiner (unmoderated) service discussion thread on: May 29, 2014, 02:48:33 PM
You should be able too. I understand that any limitation would be at the raspberry pi side. Just  visit the raspberry pi at http://www.raspberrypi.org/ for some research and get back to us on how we can also do this Smiley

If we had access to the Pi itself with the zenMiner software loaded, sure.

Here is the exact quote from the email that I should have just tossed into my last post.

Quote from: Eric
In our effort to maximize quality control and the overall experience of our customers, all zenMiners are setup and configured at the seller's facility and then protected from alteration (root access) to ensure security and reliability. We did not include support for wireless devices because a wired connection to your miner is always going to be more reliable than wireless. I'm sorry if this causes any inconvenience to you.
12  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: ZenMiner (unmoderated) service discussion thread on: May 29, 2014, 02:06:45 PM
Sent in a support question to zenminer and Eric shot me back a reply very fast which I appreciate.

Unfortunately, the answer wasn't what I was hoping for. I was wondering if a USB Wifi adapter could be used with the zenController, and was told wireless support was not included because 'a wired connection to your miner is always going to be more reliable than wireless'.

Very disappointed in that. I've been running gridseeds (and now the Fury) via PC over wireless with no issues at all.

I am also going with direct cgminer until zenminer is up,  but getting way too many invalids and hardware errors. Are you getting hardware errors.

15 hardware errors on 195 accepted. I am using the Fury at 6 chips.

I'm running at 1.3 MH/s on cgminer with 2400 accepted to clevermining with 131 hardware errors, which is not too great. Using the config they posted with chip count at 6. Hopefully when I get to work tomorrow the zenMiner stuff will be sorted out, and I can test with that.

Thanks! Don't want to wait for a response for zenminer support on the 'updating your device' issue. Will attempt that tomorrow after a night of hashing through windows.
15  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: ZenMiner (unmoderated) service discussion thread on: May 28, 2014, 06:07:02 PM
At the same point as a lot of people currently with the 'Updating your device for new Fury' (on one screen when I could select between the miner models it actually said 'Furry' lol).

Only been sitting like this for about 10 minutes now, but will toss out stats for overnight results on clevermining if/when I get it hasing!

My Fury is with the DHL courier now too! I had to call DHL and ask for them to just leave the package at the door since only UPS has a key to get into my office building. Hopefully nobody walks by to see my note on the door asking them to hide it behind a bench down there.

GAWdible sound of scrypt coins hitting the wallet!

The one Gridseed that I ordered was definitely used. Dust all over the fan and heatsink. It runs well enough, and I had read somewhere about other sites getting used Gridseeds from their supplier.

can anyone that bought fury wtih CCs report if they got any refunds?

I bought a Week 2 Fury on May 12th (right before the price reduction) with my CC, and no refund yet. Will wait and see.
