1  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where can one store/swap Bitcoin? on: August 02, 2021, 04:23:16 PM
Some of the multi-crypto HD wallet support swap options to limited coins but they are actually lot expensive than converting on the exchange, even if it seems everything is happening in the app itself you need to pay for the transaction fee and less fee for the coin you are going to sell. I don't know how much finds you keep in Binance but if its not a huge amount then its okay to let it be there.
2  Other / Meta / Re: Do You Believe a New Forum Software Will Attract More Users to Bitcointalk? on: July 13, 2021, 02:56:04 PM
I love the forum design a lot because I don't see any kind of irritative ads on the sides of my screen, no pop-up, easy to read and discuss anything that we wanted. At first, it may look like an old design but once we are familiar with these things then no one is going to say that it is boring. Less traffic is actually due to the merit and ranking system since everyone wants to make money even though they don't have any knowledge related to it.

I don't know how the new forum is going to be but I guess there won't be huge increase in the userbase like social media where people actually register for nothing and wasting their valuable time such kind of members never going to realize the importance of bitcointalk.
3  Other / Meta / Re: Have you noticed many newbies/junior members opening threads lately? on: July 09, 2021, 07:20:38 PM
I don't know if it's just my impression or what. And I don't know if it's just a coincidence. What is clear is that if you open threads (if they don't suck) it's easier to get merits. I don't know if they know it and that's why.
Probably 1/100 will get merit or two by doing this and also only if they create a thread for the valid query which isn't too easy to search at bitcointalk or Google. But there are newbies who become most top merited members with their contribution and knowledge so as youtube says "Content is the King" which means when someone got the potential along with a bit of luck then they will get recognition.
4  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Riddles and Brain-Teasers for Bitcointalk Members (Newbies – Members) on: July 08, 2021, 10:40:18 PM
Riddle #9

But are they really?
Did Paul make any mistakes in the setup process, and is there something he should have done differently?

Help Paul to figure out the correct steps.
First of all, I want to know that Paul bought the hardware wallet from the official website or some online site where we can buy things with high discounts, if he bought it from a third party website then,

I assume Paul is going to be one of the victims to lose all his portfolio to the scammers because he bought a Ledger wallet which already tampered with by the scammers who sell the actual product for cheaper price with a flash drive so all those recovery seeds entered by Paul will be sent to the scammer then the scammer will take all the money from the wallet will be moved by the scammer to his wallet in no time.

Because for the past couple of years people are losing their money by buying those fake hardware wallet/ or hardware wallets which are already compromised and shipped.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Is Our Personal Data Still Safe or Has Been Sold? on: May 16, 2021, 06:29:22 AM
Many of us must have done KYC in several bounties in the past, have any of you experienced any strange events? like getting bill or whatever. is it possible that our data is still safe with past scam projects?

are you like me who is always worried about personal data?
You have no assurance for the security of those private data called KYC even when the project is legit because you have given your details to someone who called developers so its their choice whether they want to sell it and make money out of it or not.

Anyway you are talking about scam projects then yes its 100% not safe anymore.
6  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Cricket Match-Fixing Scandal on: May 16, 2021, 03:02:40 AM
In Indian Premier Leagle (IPL) also it happened and two teams were banned for 2 years for their owners involved in wrong doings like fixing or something like that. And still people claims that the match-fixing happening in IPL and the whole cricket community but it doesn't look like any longer after 2018 and later in my opinion.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Some fundamental questions about the Blockchain technology. on: May 15, 2021, 06:40:30 PM
Thank you.
Can you give me a brief information about the coin and token and how they are running?
In simple words, token is something which is using other blockchains for their use so they don't have any native blockchain while coin is a project with their own blockchain.

What is the difference between Coins and Tokens?

There are thousands of similar articles also available!
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Some fundamental questions about the Blockchain technology. on: May 15, 2021, 03:19:58 PM
Hello,
I have some questions:

1- A cryptocurrency like TRON or EOS is like an operating system that lets developers to make their programs on it? For example, TRON is like the Windows or GNU/Linux OS and developers can make their applications on it.
Am I right?

2- Why are some of these networks sometimes busy? Is it because many programs were running on them at the time?

3- When a cryptocurrency network like the Ethereum become busy, then people switching to the other networks like TRON. Does that mean that applications that running on the Ethereum network changed their network to the TRON network?

4- How a developer can use Ethereum or TRON network to making an application?

Thank you.

1. Yes, its somewhat similar to the operating system where all the other applications can be run. You need to know what is the coin and token and how they are running to get better idea.

2. Network is busy for two reasons, one is due to the drop in the hash rate of the miners or the network is congested with lot more transactions than usual so the network will be busy and you may have to wait more longer.

3. People can switch their project to another blockchain, if they want and its already happening with Ethereum price hike and Binance smart chain launch.

4. You need to have technical knowledge and idea to create a project and also the real usecase.
9  Economy / Economics / Re: Vitalik Buterin donated billions to India to fight Covid-19 crisis on: May 15, 2021, 01:29:05 PM

I am not entirely sure who managed the India-Covid-Relief funds which are sent by Vitalik but I hope they are in safe hands because corruption is one of the biggest problems after corona virus in India.

He might be having some hidden agenda behind dumping that coin, but it happened for something good then its acceptable!

Not only him, lot of people donated huge amount of money to the Indian government for the recovery of their people but what is the ground reality is India itself having enough money in their hand but money can't anyone to recover from covid, they are lacking the products which is what India need right now like medical supplies, oygen, beds and even doctors.

Kind of agree with the corruption because there is no transparent data available where all these relief funds are going, mean while India is building a luxury house for Indian prime minister for 13,500 crores around 200 million dollars if I am not wrong. Lips sealed
10  Economy / Economics / Re: On the future of Cryptocurrencies on: May 15, 2021, 06:27:53 AM
This is the future I see, a million problems solved and a million applications created by cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology. But one with a single major use case: The cryptocurrency Pawn model. A world where selling cryptocurrency would be a last resort, like selling grandma's gold watch.
People who have money will spend it and who doesn't have can't send it unless they sell something. Bitcoin is just a money which has its own intrinsic value but we can't compare the bitcoin with Gold since we never asked why fiat money does have value when it is just made of paper and no real case other than being a medium of exchange. Bitcoin is a peer to peer medium of exchange which eliminates the need of banks while making transactions.

Well, what we have today is kind of adoption which is for investment purpose but it may lead to the adoption of being used as currency when everyone have the bitcoin just like having fiat money nowadays.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why is it Americans doesnt join crypto bounties? on: May 15, 2021, 03:55:33 AM
We are running a bounty for US based citizens, and my cyrpto employer is willing to pay a token worth 100usd (link here) . We got a few signups but found out they are fake and they are from Bangladesh, Pakistan, India. So USA people hates microjobs?
Maybe they are not interested to take risk for some pennies, don't know the exact reason why its only for US customers but if you want people to join from such countries then you have to pay at least 10 times higher and more chances if you pay them in bitcoin after escrowing the amount before asking for people to sign up.
12  Economy / Economics / Re: Vitalik Buterin donated billions to India to fight Covid-19 crisis on: May 14, 2021, 01:36:22 PM
He is not the first but this is the biggest donation I guess, whether it was sent as crypto or in the fiat form?

Previously Brett Lee donates 1 Bitcoin for oxygen supplies- India has always been a second home for me and he donated it as in the crypto form.

US, Russia and even China helped India to overcome this but still the condition is worse with 400K cases per day and 4000 deaths. The only reason why the fatality rate increasing is due to the unavailability of liquified oxygen to the patient at the required time.
13  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Being unpredictable on: May 14, 2021, 10:50:31 AM
Is there a way that you can ensure being difficult to predict at Poker? For example, if you never bluff, people will eventually get to known that and it will reduce your ability to profit from good  cards? Anyone there knows techniques or trick to avoid being easy to read?

Practice makes perfect that's the only way to do that, but even if a player is good at hiding his expression and his feelings, experienced poker players are also good at reading your body language, so it's not only your facial expression but also your body language that you need to hide for you be competitive in poker games.

Casino Royale! Cheesy

Yeah, but you are right still the over smart poker champion will use such a category to bluff you so it's too much complicated if you take lot of things into account while predicting the oppositions cards.

So play your game at best while use bluff occasionally.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Cryptocurrency wallet password recovery service. on: May 14, 2021, 08:03:29 AM
I would like to recommend the company https://www.hashangels.com/, a Brazilian company that specializes in recovering passwords from cryptocurrency wallets.
But why you came here to recommend a random new website which is going to recover the money you lost with your newbie account?

Obvious shilling is really disadvantage even if the service is legit.
15  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: May 14, 2021, 06:50:32 AM
I am not sure about this. Nowadays, the coach has become a nominal role within the Indian team. Previously it was not so. Damaadji (the coach) manages to hold on to his job by keeping the captain happy. I don't think that he has any other contribution to the team. Kohli doesn't prefer anyone else as the coach, as he don't want to listen to others and undergo rigorous training routines. Perhaps India is the only team which doesn't have a real coach.
So you think that Ravi Shastri is not a good coach and Virat Kohli is not undergoing rigorous training routines, check out historically and i would say this Indian team is the fittest and each and every member spends a lot of time in the gym working out and it is evident in their performance.
Team India is having the best players and the bench strength is really good and historically we never had these talents in abundance.
Yes, this is the fittest team and one of the best team in the world as well but they are exposed too much in my opinion which caused lot of injuries in the recent weeks and months for the main players it is also a concern right?

In general, Ravi Shashtri performed poorly as a coach even among the cricket community but all he is doing is trying to influence the captain and his decisions.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to tell when to dump an entire project/coin? Overall gain loss... on: May 14, 2021, 06:00:15 AM
Flat line doesn't mean the project is died, its still surviving if the circulating supply is in considerable amount and it depends on project to project so we can't draw a line when to dump based on the market movements alone. But what the best practice from the successful investor is dump the projects when its started to rise at a faster speed than how it used to be normal they they will wait for a project to get dumped and show some hope of rising.
17  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: USA - keeping track of trades (coins for coins) and financial software (quicken) on: May 13, 2021, 06:56:55 PM
All the exchanges regulated by the USA supposed to report each and every user's trade records, so yes you need to pay for each trade no matter its crypto to crypto or crypto to fiat. Calculating and reporting the tax can be a nightmare for a day trader so you have to find someone who is professional in that and keep all those records as per the laws.

Long term gains has less tax rates than short term so its always good to have long-term gains so you can save 30-40% from your tax.

If someone willing to spend much money that BCCI was asking then surely a team can takes place from the region you are talking about but do they have anyone like rich individual or famous actor who can afford or who did with the local tournaments like that.

LOL.. we don't have any billionaires in the northeast. The richest person is Badruddin Ajmal, who has net worth of around ₹2,000 crores ($270 million). Previously only Assam and Tripura were represented in the Ranji trophy from our region. After the Lodha reforms, other states were also allowed to field their own teams. But if they want IPL to be a truly pan-Indian league, then they should allow one team from this region. After all, even for the other franchises a majority of the players are not locals.
Since we all know BCCI is looking for profits than the actual real talents that is why they tried to host IPL in the middle of pandemic which got backfired in the middle of the season. Anyway hope we will see a team from that place as well and even though the Ranji players and international players are taking part it won't stop the young talents to show their efforts when they got choice.
19  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: May 13, 2021, 02:57:45 PM
Yes, it's likely to happen but what states are going to be included? Does anyone have an idea about it?
Pune will be a strong contender and then Gujarat might get a team and it would be great if we have a team from Kerala as well.

I will not prefer an additional team from Maharashtra. They already have Mumbai Indians. IPL need to represent all Indians. So when there is a team from Mumbai, I don't think that another one should be permitted in Pune. Also, Gujarat and Rajashthan should be merged into one team. If there are two teams for these two states then it will result in over-representation. I have the same opinion regarding Kerala as well. South Indian states are over-represented right now. Why no one wants a team from the Northeast? Being a resident of Tripura (and born in Mizoram), I would love to see a team from either Assam, Tripura or Meghalaya.
If someone willing to spend much money that BCCI was asking then surely a team can takes place from the region you are talking about but do they have anyone like rich individual or famous actor who can afford or who did with the local tournaments like that.
20  Economy / Economics / Re: Inflation speeds up in April as consumer prices leap 4.2%, fastest since 2008 on: May 13, 2021, 06:04:41 AM
I wonder if everyone is preparing for the worst. Or if we are still assuming this will blow over and life will return to normal.
Already it is, no matter how good your are in the financial status these things are going to hurt them but the poor people are going to starve and the new normal is not going to be smoother, the world isn't prepared to face this.

Anyway government will say that everything is under normal even if they are going to see the hyper inflation. Sad
