Ethereum is a good option now, but if you want better profit you can try to find some new coins. Sometimes you can get good return from those new coins, but of course you are taking big risk compare to mining popular coins.

GPU or CPU is a depreciated product, so if you can't get decent profit then better think twice. But I found the ROI is still acceptable, maybe roughly 1 year or more to earn back your GPU invested.

Not many algorithms good for cpu, except those with cpu algorithm such as yescryptR16, M7M... You may consider cryptonight algorithm for coin like XMR or BCN, it is still cpu minable with good hashrate.

Nice sharing, it is good to know a new CPU coin with YescriptR16 algo.

Not high hashrate for gtx 750ti to mine other algorithm, I also suggested cryptonight, it is much better with the hashrate compared to others. You may check it at whattomine.com

Yeah, I don't think there is any issue to mine with non-activated windows. It just annoy to see the activation message, but it works just fine.

may i ask why people seems prefer VPS instead of building own small server in the home?
is it due to network connectivity? or unreliable electricity/internet?
Main reason is static IP and home broadband with only 1 dynamic IP, you can get multiple VPS with unique static IP each.

There is no way alt coins will survive if bitcoin gone. If bitcoin dead then that's mean cryptocurrency dead, so no other cryptocurrency will worth a value.

i had a problem with a string of asics giving X's.
I changed the frequency from 600 to 550
it worked, once stable, slowly increased back to 600.
stable 2 days now
Yes, it is always suggested to lower the frequency at the beginning, then slowly increase it. Same job on every miner including GPU.

This new Antminer A3 miner appears to be a basis for Bitmain's entrance into a cryptocurrency which will support the massive off-site data storage requirements inherent in its AI operations.
Surprise me, this means that there will be an ASIC friendly algorithm soon. What are the popular coins that use blake2b? EDIT: just noticed SIA is blake2b I thought SIA with it's own new algo...

If you do not use your mining rig to surf net or any other activities than mining, then you do not actually need an anti-virus including windows defender.

|
|
It is hard to tell why you have rejected shares because there are alot of reason. But with 0.0016% only, it is a good mining result.

I see no problem with linux, you must also compare resources usage for linux and windows, obviously windows uses more and it could lead to more power drawn. Anyway I still prefer linux, maybe you can try to compile those great miner to linux by yourself.

If you looking for fast money, then nicehash is good. But if you want to hodl the coins that you mined, then zcash is recommended for 1080ti.

I did not own any Vega yet but I think it is better to mine cryptonight algorithm because of very good hashrate in the algo, and whattomine also shows best profit compared to ETH.

I think GPU is not the trends right now. Do you ever think of investing in ASIC miner? You can buy a few ASIC miners with $30k, mainly for SHA256 should be good in ROI.

Persoanlly i go for the ones with FOUR capacitors on. No particular brand or make as they are all basically the same. They all do a range of different connectors.
I also insist on four capacitors. I have some risers on hand that bought last time with four capacitors, it is much stable compared to three capacitors riser.

Since mining rig does not need much work on it after setup, so why not you just use remote desktop or vnc to access to it from another computer?
|
|
|
Yes, nicehash could be the source of these big miners, they tried to move around different pool and coin for profit. They will stay only if big profit gain.

Can someone please help? Just need to confirm. thanks so much!!!
I have a friend who have the exact motherboard you are asking and he is running 6x RX 580 with modified bios making 180 Mhash in Ethereum only mining mode , running from a few months without problems and without crashing. It should work for you too but I suggest to go for Biostar TB250 PRO BTC or ASROCK H110 PRO BTC+ or ASUS MINING EXPERT as these are motherboards dedicated to mining. Their price is not expensive too. I have the same suggestion as @Cereberus did, why don't you get those mining mobo, it supports more PCIe slots, and you do not require to use all, 6 gpu on it sure works without problem.
