Just leaving a quick review. My miners were received at Centerus over the weekend and so far everything is running smoothly. The only issue I have is that they should be more responsive in communication. I had sent out 2 emails which I did not receive a reply to (the question I posed is now moot). Would have been nice to get at least some response back (despite being Labor weekend and all).

anyone ask refund neptune?
further up the thread ...is a guy who got one...also others i know have gotten refunds Searing I already asked for my refund and got my money back. I see people here continue to believe that Neptune will return ROI. I personally do not.... and plus, the amount of power that thing pulls is beyond what my infrastructure can handle. So I've decided to stick with buying/selling BTCs instead. Good luck to the rest of you. |

I dunno. I think you'd maybe break even by March which is when we should start seeing the trickle of 3TH miners from KnC, 2TH miners from BA, etc.., which will raise difficulty to the roof. Does it make more sense just to buy BTC instead?

Why are the prize at MBP so overprized?
They aren't really overpriced. Very close to my target range right now. The difference with these are they are ready to ship right now vs the other companies that if you order from now you will not receive for at least 2 or 3 months. The chips are also more efficient than antminer and avalon G2. I doubt it. Antminers are running at 1.1V. If run at 0.9V Antminers would be almost as efficient as Bitfury. Check out Bitburner fury which run the chips close to 1.0V and the power consumption sky rockets to almost 2W/ GH/s The Antminers are not even in the same ZIP code as the Bitfury chips in regards to power draw. Here are my personal measurements on a 6 card Bitfury doing about 175GH/s sitting right next to a 180GH/s non-overclocked Antminer S1: Antminer - 360W power draw (measured by Killawatt at the wall) Bitfury - 185W power draw (measured by Killawatt at the wall) If the pricing is the same, and you are deploying these en-mass, the Bitfurys save you a lot of $$$ in power. Also Bitfury can be kept cool without loud fans. Antminer is loud  I've got some droning away in the background. |

Is the refund policy on Neptune the same as it was for the Jupiter series?
It should be. Some ppl in this forum have already gotten refunds processed for their neptune orders. I just put in my request to refund my Neptune order. Worried I cannot meet the power requirements needed (I live in an apartment). Hosted solution would be better for me. Also I have a 2nd batch order.. that's like 4+ extra levels of difficulty by the time I'd even get it. |

I agree with what you're saying here. Also, having it hosted means that you don't need to deal with the noise and heat from the unit. An estimate seems to show that by the end of the 6 months, the unit will be pulling in roughly 0.16 BTC/day.
0,16 a day in july sounds high? Thought it would be much less than that 0.16 after 6 months - end on Sept 1 - assuming you start on March 1 (Cloud hashing) Is it really that high? I'm more interested in the start time of the cloud mining compared to the shipping time of the X3's
What they do is pretty obvious - you rent 1TH/s for 4 or 6 months then it's over, you don't get to keep any hardware. I believe you even get to choose the pool to mine at.
The price for 6 months hosting per TH is roughly equivalent to the price per TH of the X3. But you don't have to pay customs (which in my case would be 13% of the product's value), no electricity costs, no monitoring the thing, no lost revenue while shipping or if the unit is damaged on arrival. And I assume after 6 months X3's are more than likely obsolete and their resale value at that point might not cover the previously mentioned costs. Depending on how fast difficulty rises the cheaper 4 month cloud rental might be the best bang for the buck Black Arrow has to offer, but at least in my mind the 6 month cloud rental is almost certainly better than buying an X3. Might be different if customs can be avoided and you don't pay for electricity, but even then, the shipping time can still get you. Of course this entire analysis hinges on the cloud offering starting the same time as X3 shipping...

My Ants are mining very happily, but because of heat concerns, I decided to move them into another room and run them off of WiFi. They seem to be mining and are visible when I check the "Connected Devices" on my router, but I can't remote into them (via the web interface or ssh), unless I connect them via ethernet.
I read through all these pages, and it seems that a few people are having the same problem that I am, but I never saw it addressed or solved. There was some suggestion that maybe we can't remote into them over WiFi because of some setting in the Ants Firewall, but I'm not seeing anything that would likely be causing this. I was just wondering if anyone has this problem or if they came to a solution. Thanks!
I have this exact problem. Cannot access control panel via Wifi. I asked Sushi about this but he didn't know. |

That's the problem. If you want them to run quietly you need the room to be cool. The fans are temperature controlled. I may be considering to put them outside on the patio in some kind of enclosure. |

i dont find them very silent ... they are lower than BFL .. true... but cant sleep with them in the same room , thats for sure  Same here. And sometimes the fans kick into higher gear which makes them even louder. My apartment is so hot now.. I have to open the windows |

Still waiting for minersource team and transferwise to sort out how to send/receive payment after a week...whoever recommended transferwise had not used them to do a wire transfer as for some reason they cannot use a wire transfer number but only aba electronic transfer numbers, do not bother using them until miner-source confirm they can receive payment from them....
Transferwise basically told us we would have to "try" a payment to see if it would even work. Their CS towards us was very unprofessional, if not outright insulting. They refused to provide a copy of their terms, stating "this email is more than enough legal proof if you need". I'll speak to them again on the phone tomorrow and if they can't do a wire transfer then will ask them to re-fund me in full, can't have that amount of money sitting with them if they can't even do what they advertise!  Can you explain what is happening here? You did a wire transfer to minersource, but they are not able to confirm the transfer or something? Curious because I have an order with them but I have yet to wire anything yet..... hearing about potential wiring problems (but i'm not exactly sure of details) |

What are you guys using for UPS especially if you overclock? It seems maybe you will need one UPS per miner?

I plan to turn on sales of H-cards tomorrow. Remember, V1 H-cards will take a bit longer to get, but our manufacturer is very fast. I will sell as many of those as you guys demand.
Dave, if I buy some v1 H-cards today at $749, when will they ship? The shop doesn't make it clear whether those are shipping immediately or backordered. And where did you exactly find those $749 cards? You need to buy in bulk of 10 or more |

Another benefit is most of the nice ones will smooth out and clean the electricity for you, along with giving you 5 minutes of extra uptime. The uptime is also nice if you have to rearrange wiring for some reason. There are benefits, but it's not going to keep you going when the electricity is "truly out".
I don't know if this issue exists on KnC miners, but if you don't shut down properly on say.. BitFury, it could leave the file system in an unstable state. When you restart, it will attempt to fsck and repair the file system.... which usually just screws up the entire file system and you need to reimage the OS from scratch. So yes, having a UPS to prevent unexpected shutdowns and file system corruption is important to me. |

Just some thoughts... if you had a Neptune, are there UPS backups powerful enough to keep it up in running in the event of a blackout?
