Uhm, good ole USA, they were just hiked another 10% on Sept 24th up to 35% from 25%, the only reason you didn't get hit with tariffs is if the company you purchased the miner from lied about what you paid for it, which is illegal, but the risk is on them, not you, so just consider yourself lucky that they were willing to lie about it lol.
Any invoice over $1000 is flagged by customs and subject to import tax.
Friend of mine ordered 2 Z9 Minis on the same ticket, was just over $1200 , ended up paying $366 in duty fees, fees on a Dayun are ~$1500 if they catch it.

The ruling stated that because ASICS cannot be programmed by the end user they do not qualify as automatic data processors and are subject to the tax. This even applies to the Baikal units that can run multi algo. When I ordered my Z1 they only invoiced me for $150, so no tax.... |

Not sure how to load this onto the USB, do you need to extract the files first. Z1 not booting at all. There is included usb imaging software in the first folder I believe. You also need to unzip the .7z file, because it contains the image. Run the imaging software and choose the image that was unzipped. I used a different usb drive thanwhat came with it and after a couple user error problems, I got it to work. Can you elaborate on how you got it to work? I bought a 16 GB flash drive and loaded the image via the included exe, but I can't connect to the machine's web interface to make changes or set the static ip. Are you on a 192.168.1.x network, the default IP is 192.168.1.100 No, I'm on 192.168.0.x That's your problem. Either give yourself a 192.168.1.x address and connect to the ASIC directly to change the Z1 IP to 192.168.0.x, or change your network to 192.168.1.x. You could cheat by changing the subnet on the network from 255.255.255.0 to 255.255.0.0 So I switched my network to 192.168.1.x, but I still can't get it at 192.168.1.100 and I can't see it on the ip scanner or my router. My service goes from cable modem to Tenda wireless router to a switch (via ethernet) and then to the asic. Any other suggestions? I've also been trying to reset it, is there a special sequence for that? Thanks for your help BTW, this one is stumping me! It might not work now since you messed with the USB. Did the USB creation involve running an EXE program that writes an ISO image file to the USB? I used the imageUSB exe that was included in the zip file and I wrote the z1_static_100_09_14 image file to it. Why would you do that? You can just enter the interface and upload the new firmware from the settings. Did it work after all? I did firmware upgrade thru the interface settings and it's working for 5 days without any problems. Less Hw errors and rejects... The ASIC was on a different network, he assumed that it was not working I got it! My stupid free windows unzip "App" didn't create a proper image file... re-extracted (while watching ads, not minimized) and it works! Thanks for the help! |

Heh man this thing has been a disappointment.
Takes like 5 minutes to start hashing, reporting is so outlandish they'd be better off not even showing local hash rate (I've seen as high as 25GH shown locally), loud as shit, has rejected shares at stock clocks, barely delivers advertised hash power, can't over clock it, I could go on and on.
Guess I'm just spoiled from the super simple/reliable BitMain GUI that actually reports properly.
Anyone want to buy mine? Already state side, tariffs paid, $4500 shipped.
Yeah, its not super great. Bitmain has a massively better UI and UX. The local hash rate info is a joke... but if you let it run long enough the hourly trend is more helpful, but I tend to agree that this is not a well designed miner. Hopefully there is a firmware update that corrects some of the issues, but I am not holding my breath. you actually probably CAN overclock it if you manually change the config files to greater than 900 mhz... but overall I agree with your assessment. (PS... you complain about it then offer to sell it at nearly full price?? I love that...lol) Cheapest ones are over $5000, + 35% import tariff + won't ship for another week because of the Chinese holiday etc. I have no doubt itll easily do ROI as quick as its advertised, despite my complaints I'm still averaging $80/day, plenty of people out there not as picky as I am lol. If someone wants it cool, if not, I'm not sweating it. Hope Bitmain dumps a better and cheaper one in our laps. The price is not worth the risk, at all...

I am not seeing the $80 per day, but I am not mining individual coins currently, but it looks like via nicehash I get between $60 and $70 depending on how my hashrate is, which is a bit lower than advertised. But even at a 90 or 100 day day ROI, I am happy (ish). My biggest complaint is really noise. It is higher pitched and louder than my other miners, so I am building a sound dampening box this weekend (about $70 in additional cost, and a few hours). Either way, if you can deal with the frustration and very little support, its not a terrible purchase, just more difficult than what can be expected from bitmain. I don't think this is correct...Unless you operate as a business instead of as a hobby. There is a personal use exception for most goods. The company that sent it to me listed it as a personal computer (which is fairly accurate) with the full value and it cleared customs in 6 hours and I did not owe any fees. I can verify... I got hit with over $1300 in tariff on 6 z9 minis... I tried to fight it but there were already court cases specifically targeting cryptomining equipment |

I ordered a Giant B from them on January 2nd. It shipped Jan. 22.    That was pretty good.  Did you receive the correct tracking number? I also bought GiantB's first batch from Bittaw, but it was also delivered at the end of January. Yup, and it arrived in just 2 days from China to Texas, USA |
