Hmm, maybe possible panic buying as all of the newcomers who have been watching the market and waiting for a good moment to buy in think "Uh oh, what if the price doesn't go back down... ever?!?! BUY BUY BUY!!"
More recent newcomers wouldnt make a significant impact, they wouldn't invest much money altogether. Around/ right after the time of $266 would have been when we would have to consider the irrational newcomer impact

The thing with countries bigger than Cyprus defaulting is that it is much less likely to happen. Italy has already been in trouble once over the last few years and Greece has been on the ropes for a good while now, however neither countries have crashed to the scale of Cyprus.
Of course if a country does crash, the effect on BTC should be bigger than Cyprus (due to more people effected, so more demand for btc). Before this happens media will be reporting on the country's economic issues, so it will be some time before this happens. Its not like one day we will wake up and suddenly Portugal is broke.
I still think btc will be depreciating in the near future. as for September's price, depends on if a default happens sooner or later (i suspect later).

nope, one buy or not sell is not 'more trading'. Well ok, ANY BUY/SELL is one more trade, but I think we mean actual action going on. One 3k buy or sell will trigger volume. 100 30btc buys and sells will not trigger further volume
dude all im saying is that so far today's low volume in trade shows that btc is over priced. do you agree or disagree? if bitcoin would be overpriced, then people would be selling them, don't they? If they are not doing this maybe they think that price is too low. well obviously the people holding on to their coins think its under priced, but since there are few buyers compared to average wouldn't that show something? if someone suddenly needs fiat it will send the price well down, and i think this is much more likely than someone suddenly needing btc

When there is very little trading going on, like right now, surely that would result in the price going down?
nope, it might just as well been a correction well if the market is now correct then wouldn't that spark more trading? large, single buys/sells spark more trading, nothing else. ummm yess, when there is more trading, there is more trading, but i'm looking at why that would happen. what i'm thinking is that there would be a certain level of trading when the price is correct. when the price is low the market would be having a higher trading volume, and when it is high there would be less, which is why i think btc is over priced now.

is it actually going to go down now? we waited a week while btc was around the $100 mark and now its not going below $85. ahhh this is so frustrating trying to patiently wait for it to go down.

I feel like the price naturally wants to go down as BTC is well over priced at the moment. Whales are keeping it artificially high with big market orders to ware down other people's confidence that the price is going to go back down. And it seems to be working at least on this thread, if you look back just a few days everyone still thought it was going to go down.
They should stop with the big market orders, every additional time they push it up over $100 the $100 mark becomes less effective to convince the weak to buy in. If it was going to spike up it would have happened already
