When will people realize that we had very good news for the last weeks, but still the price goes down because price is driven by price action itself?

I rarely bother considering actual events while trading. Sure, they can be trigger events, but cyclic movement seems to count for more in the short/medium term.

Well, there is both a) a company that has bought massive amounts of BTC (I'm assuming they already bought them and they did it in the last weeks), thus creating big buying pressure (they are paying +150k coins to buy SD); b) a huge amount of BTC changing hands.

IMO the most likely outcome short term is down, both because a) the buying pressure of that big investor is gone; b) a small part of the BTC that changes hands will be sold

Obviously we can't know if the buyer already had hundred of coins bought sub-dollar, or if he has been buying during the last weeks, or maybe he didn't finish to buy yet; so this is just wild speculation, if it seems too bearish for some I invite them to share with us possible bullish scenarios for the short term; mid to long term I assume we all pretty much agree that a big investment on BTC real economy is bullish.

Hmm - kind off - but on the other hand the MtGox withdrawal problem is a huge bad news.  People still don't believe what it can mean and there is some chance that it will not be a full insolvency, but if insolvency happens - than this will undermine the trust in bitcoins for a long time (and Bitstamp could be a next target of whoever orchestrated the MtGox troubles).

Wow, Bitstamp is actually trading in the 70s. Huge divergence there. 13% up from 7% between MtGox and Bitstamp.

When will people realize that we had very good news for the last weeks, but still the price goes down because price is driven by price action itself?
Probably the most important lesson in my view.

which gives you nothing because you cant value a good news and say this one is worth $10 in price and this $100.

pff. it's not like he doesn't have some "other" bitcoins he would use to dump before the news, is it.

Also, Take a look at the charts about a day before this announcement, worlds first example of BTC insider trading of securities.

Isn't it bullish that some company pays the equivalent of +$10M for a Bitcoin gambling site? Also, as the buyout is done in Bitcoin, won't this result in buying pressure? (or is the buyout amount secured already?)

What is the target buy price then, gentlemen?

I'm thinking high 50s at the highest, but suspect at least low 50s will be challenged within the next few weeks.

I wouldn't mistake long term bullishness for short term cycles.

Almost everyone here is bullish long term or we wouldn't be here at all. The question is, what is happening over the next days/weeks/months, IMO.
