boot with one gpu... verify it works.
shutdown, reboot and confirm.
now, add one gpu.
let it get to the point where both are detected again. test.
reboot and confirm.... and keep adding one more gpu like this.
sometimes windows gets wonky and needs to be walked step by step.....
everything is good with gpu 1-3 then as soon as I add a 4, one will go code 12 on me and its not even necessarily the 4th one I plugged in in the memory part it shows 6of my graphic cards. could that be the problem, and if so how do I fix it https://imgur.com/a/DeOjt

Try setting PCIe link speed in the BIOS to GEN1. (Should that fail, try the other available options with this setting.) My guess is that PCIe lanes is your issue, since your system will likely default to having one card run in x8 mode, and 2 others run in x4 mode, causing problems for the fourth card.
Should that fail... Clear CMOS (use the jumper or remove the CMOS battery for about 10 seconds) Reseat CPU Reseat RAM
tried running pcie speed as gen 1, gen 2, and auto, still no resources. just tried clearing cmos, reseating cpu and ram and nothing. thank you though https://i.imgur.com/3MsQtCw.jpg

There's no tolud setting on this motherboards bios, and I already have 4g rendering enabled.

Ive tried that too. But thank you for the reply!

I'll bet you a whole Satoshi it is the risers. One thing that you can do though is test with Linux and when you find the same thing just fine out which riser is damaged and swap.
I went through 12 different risers and all were good. I don't think it's a hardware as much as it's a bios/io problem.

Following this thread since i got the same problem after updating Windows. For while I could only get 4/6 gpus working (code12) on the others but trying all possible fixes got me to 5/6. Now done wasting time finding a solution, 6/6 cards worked before win update....
Hopefully someone solves this, I maxed out my technical potential on this one...
How'd u get 5 working? Well first of all as I said I had just 4/6 and couldnt do anything. So I cleaned drivers and started by plugging them in one by one, thinking there was a problem with me installing windows with all cards hooked up. Then I got stuck on the third card. 2 working, 1 with code 12. So I did all the fixes, regedit hackflags, updating bios to ver1.30 enabling 4G-decoding option, turned off onbard audio etc. Changed swapfile to 16gb-32gb. When nothing of that worked I figured after reading this thread and it seems to be an problem with windows 10 ver. 1079, okay I'll plug in all six and just mine with however many cards I can. But then 5 cards run problemfree, and code 12 error on just 1. So thats what I did, cant explain it any better, sorry. Mining at the moment with 5 and only hope of getting 6 working is this thread it seems... It seems to be a common problem with a myriad of different solutions

ive recently built my first mining rig with the following asrock h81 probtc r2.0 intel 3258 4gb ram 120gb ssd evga 1000w gold 2x pny NVidia gtx 1050ti 1 gigabyte gtx 1050ti 1 evga 1050ti windows 10 build 1703 when I initially set it up it would only read one gpu, after doing the hackflags registry edit and increasing virtual memory to 16000 and going back to windows 1703 from 1709 I got it to read all 4 but gives me a code 12 on one https://imgur.com/a/I90d0I emailed asrock and they sent me a bios update for 1.3b which enabled 4g decoding and it didn't help. ive disabled sound, lan and onboard video from bios, set pci speed to gen1 and still get a lack of resources. shit, ive even gone as far as order another set of risers, another mobo, and a new ssd thinking that somehow that would fix it. the only thing I can think of now is I read somewhere that the cpu might be the culprit. Idk man, Ive been working on this for over a week and am at the end of my rope. any advice is appreciated! Will reward .0014 BTC for correct solution!

I contacted Asrock support.
They say for some HackFlags solution works on Windows Installations (1709). But it didnt work for me.
The solution for me was windows 10 (1703), the version before creators update. My 4 cards (Gtx 1070s) are working with this Windows version, when i update to 1709 only 3 cards are working. So i dont update for now.
The support said its a problem which occur on Windows 10 (1709) versions. So microsoft needs to fix this in a coming update.
Hope it helps, cioa.
windows 1703 helped me get 3 out of 4 cards up now I'm just getting code 12 not enough resources https://imgur.com/a/I90d0
