I have joined this forum, because there is plenty of information about these crypto-currencies.  I do believe that in the very near future, these crypto-currencies can be as liquid and important as our current fiat currencies.  I also like the idea that these crypto-currencies are almost inflation-proof.

Primecoin, because unlike Bitcoin or Litecoin, Primecoin doesn't seem to have any limit in the amount that it is going to be minted (or circulated ... ... may be) in the near future. Hence allowing more end-users to participate in using XPM.

XPM currently may not be as popular as its predecessors Btc / Ltc, but it has plenty of potential.

3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How can I tell if I'm mining primecoins? on: July 14, 2013, 12:18:40 PM
I've been running my laptop (Intel Celeron 2 Cores) for 16 hours today to mine this thing, both CPUs are running at their max, their temperatures have gone up by 15degreeCenti. Client Version: v0.1.1xpm-beta ... ... haven't gotten any block whatsoever. I got these though:

19:05:17

getmininginfo

19:05:17

{
"blocks" : 38421,
"currentblocksize" : 1000,
"currentblocktx" : 0,
"errors" : "",
"generate" : true,
"genproclimit" : -1,
"primespersec" : 126,
"pooledtx" : 0,
"testnet" : false
}

19:14:06

getmininginfo

19:14:06

{
"blocks" : 38531,
"currentblocksize" : 1000,
"currentblocktx" : 0,
"errors" : "",
"generate" : true,
"genproclimit" : -1,
"primespersec" : 135,
"pooledtx" : 0,
"testnet" : false
}

Am I doing this correctly?

Do I need to add more nodes in my primecoin.conf file?
Would adding more nodes, better my chances?
Do I need to change my port number (currently rpcport=8000)?
Is there such a thing as better port number?

Cheers
4  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Membergroups; or: Why do some users get colored coins under their names? on: July 13, 2013, 11:17:36 PM
Donator:   Manually applied by administration after 10 BTC donation, and gets 5 gold coins under his name
of which the last is half green. 5 coins are shown regardless of post count when user is a Donator.
VIP:   Manually applied by administration after 50 BTC donation, and gets 5 gold coins under his name
of which the last is half purple. 5 coins are shown regardless of post count when user is a VIP.

10 BTC or 50 BTC, and with the price fluctuations the dollar values can change quite rapidly.  Just stating fact, no particular question at this moment.

 Shocked
