1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin banned in social media? on: April 04, 2018, 12:32:39 PM
is that real or fake news?...
i am confused of what people are disccussing about banning all cryptos and altcoins in social media, how should we know that its real or not...
im scared, because like me this is the way that i participate in bounty campaign, how can i participate those bounties if theres no twitter and facebook update for cryptos..
Facebook's social media is rumored to prohibit the circulation of ads in its platforms that have content related to crypto currency (cryptocurrency), including bitcoin. The company initiated by Mark Zuckerberg argues that the content of those advertisements is related to deceptive and misleading promotional practices.

Yes we continue to see the social media platforms banning the advertising of cryptocurrencies and ICOs. I believe the businesses just do not understand how to access these and are just simplying trying to reduce all exposure to any possible negative press, due to scams.

Cool project, interesting to see the integration of the home hub device. Energy trading platforms have performed well in the market in the past. Will there be a bounty program?
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Regulation and apathy hit bitcoin market on: March 30, 2018, 05:16:47 PM
It's sad to say but I think it's true. Bitcoin isn't likely to see $20,000 again any time soon. There is too much negative pressure on it right now, I don't see any new big companies accepting bitcoin, as nobody wants to get their hands burned. The simple fact is, unless Bitcoin achieve mass adoption its price does not belong above $20,000. It's sad to hear but it's true, I'm already down crazy amounts and still holding, so I really don't have an agenda against BTC.
Please tell me why you price $ 20,000 for bitcoin? Probably in order to sell quickly because you have lost confidence in bitcoin? Such as you now a lot and for this reason we will not see the price of $ 20,000. You will sell your coins at the lowest level and when you do not have that sell the price will rise. We've seen this before.

Yes the press is really turning up the heat on its crypto fud. The funny thing is, all of this only increases the amount of attention the mainstream pays on crypto. There is no such thing as bad press.
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: You can actually buy a lot of things with Bitcoin on: March 30, 2018, 02:27:11 PM
Bitcoin is just a virtual currency, but it is used as real money to buy many things. There are many people who accept Bitcoin payments for items, including online stores and regular stores. Popular online stores accept Bitcoins including Newegg, Overstock, Microsoft, Dell and more.

In the United States, there are Reeds Jewelers, One Shot Hotels, Holiday Inn, and even pizza locations, restaurants and more. You can even use Bitcoin to buy addictive drugs, gambling, bullion, or even donate to charity. This is the reason why I like BTC.

Yes this really sunk in for me the other day when I paid for crypto tax software with btc. There are a tonne of market places accepting bitcoin and a number of new crypto payment systems are rising making crypto payment easier than ever.
5  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you feel the rise of BTC anytime soon? on: March 28, 2018, 06:52:00 AM
we are currently in a bear market and it will not change for a time and until that change we will continue seeing this slow downward movement. and unfortunately it has caused a huge dump in the altcoin market and the dump there will always bring more dumps because the altcoin bag holders are starting to panic sell their shitcoins and when they do that they only come back to bitcoin to sell their bitcoin to get back to fiat and that will increase the sell pressure and is increasing the bitcoin price drop.

Yes I agree, it is beginning to feel like we may remain in an extended bear market for a little while. It will be interesting to see if things pick up again around June, typically the market does fairly well around this time. Hopefully as some of the larger projects come to market some life will reenter the market
6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Twitter banned cryptocurrencies Ads on: March 27, 2018, 03:08:12 PM
Twitter will follow Google and Facebook's lead in banning cryptocurrency ads.

The ban will roll out Tuesday, and become fully enforceable for all advertisers within a month, including initial coin offerings and token sales.

It will also cover ads by cryptocurrency exchanges and cryptocurrency wallet services.

Is that a problem for bitcoin too or only ICO's ??
Last month, there's an issue regarding ICOs advertising being banned on Facebook and its on twitter now. I really don't know if there's a problem in ICOs but one thing that comes up to my mind is protecting the identity of people. Actually, bitcoin can be a source of danger because as you can see, it is really attractive in the eyes of people with bad intention. The thing is, does the advertising of ICOs in any other social media has been followed or not?

I don't really see this as a huge issue, I do not believe the advertising of ICOs is really a high quality or conversion means of advertising for these projects anyway. All these changes may just force the industry to become more professional in its approach.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What I do before buying an altcoin! on: March 27, 2018, 08:27:39 AM

Doing this can be of help to get a sense of a really good buy... at least this is what  I do.

What are your thoughts ? How do you do it??

Cheers!

One thing which I think is very important that many easily forget to do, is to read the full whitepaper. You can learn a lot about the positioning of the project as well as how much project they actually have, as well as how they are approaching the development of the project.
The methods you mentioned in the subject are extremely beautiful and the methods that can be useful for your investment. In addition to all these, it will be useful for you to do past price analysis in many stock markets as well as not to listen to all the recommendations you have read besides all these, unfortunately many people who think of themselves as investors write recommendations without knowing it on the internet. Last one more point, the amount of coin supplied is also important when you buy. The less or balanced the better.
8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ‘I Don't Think Bitcoin Will Last Forever’: Edward Snowden! on: March 25, 2018, 04:05:47 PM
Many famous people see the future of bitcoin as replaceable and many do not. However, right now I cannot see any user friendly, trade volume and neat market potential currency like bitcoin in near future.

I do tend to agree with his general point, that bitcoin could become redundant especially if it does not pay attention to fulfilling that privacy role. However, it is also important to consider that it would be fairly easy to implement some kind of second layer solution that ads privacy.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Does Bitcoin price affect ICOs on: March 25, 2018, 01:30:08 PM
I have been wondering how directly and indirectly fluctuations in the price of bitcoin affects ICOs performance at that time. Anyone who knows this can assist in the explanation.

Some ICOs accept bitcoin or ethereum as payment. So, when bitcoin price is not good, people don't want to spend their bitcoin because they will get lesser coins. So, it really affects ICO. That is why most ICOs fail at this kind of market situatuin.

Yes the price of bitcoin and ether definitely has a massive impact on the ICO market, people are far more likely to participate in higher risk ICOs when their portfolio is doing well. I think we will see a run in alts which will bring the ICO market back to life
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is still Ok to invest in Etherium on: March 25, 2018, 10:28:40 AM
It seems the ethereum price has decreased far from the beginning of the year price.
But ethereum still good to invest because many peoples using eth to invest their funds to many ICO's

As the market began to fall ETH was holding up the best compared to many of it's competitors, however it now has taken quite a beating from the market, perhaps as people begin to access some of the other options that are now available in the market.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tezos: A Self-Amending Crypto-Ledger on: March 24, 2018, 04:27:56 PM
To access your Tezos do you only need your private and public key that was in the PDF we got at the ICO? Trying to figure out how I'll access my tezzies at launch
Privkey and password
Yeah, private key and password both are  required to unlock the tezzies. Its so sad but I am sure many people did not even write down or remember the password that they created while buying tezos, wonder how much percentage of tokens would get lost because of this.
agree.. i am abit surprise as well to know that password is require... luckily for me, i happen to wrote it down.

Actually they were so informative about what informations we'd need. But I think many people already lost those required informations.

Yes I believe a lot of the Tezos supply will be lost due to people not storing their private keys from the sale. In a way this is equivalent to burning that supply which is very positive for the token price, hopefully after the launch we will see positive developments in the tech as well.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Guys what do you think about the future of BNB? on: March 24, 2018, 03:59:51 PM
We can't deny the fact that Binance platform is one of the best trading platforms at the moment. This is actually my personal choice among all. The team always sees to it that they can resolve issues the quickest time possible. This also has the biggest volume so I see it can go even bigger in the next months and years if they continue to do their great job.

I think BNB will do very well over the long term, it is an exception business that is growing at an insanely fast rate. The fact that they also focus on the trade of crypto to crypto removes a lot of the AML risk to the business and should scale better.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: How do I know a bounty program is good? on: March 23, 2018, 01:59:26 PM
Talking about the bounty  it goes with the ICO,s. If your talking about the bounty this goes with the bounty manager and how he manage the campaign,a bounty can be good but the manager can decide to cheat on the bounty campaigners

You really want to look for good projects, with high allocations to the bounty program. If it is a good project with a high market cap potential this is a great start, but a project that also has an large allocation has a much great chance of paying out well for participants.
14  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin at 2600$, is it possible !!!! on: March 23, 2018, 08:39:15 AM
what we'v seen in the first 3 month of 2018 are huge different from what we'v been expected to see in 2018
so with the last huge movement of bitcoin price what do you think ,
is it possible to see 2600$ again ??

No one knows, everybody is just predicting. Bitcoin is already on its downturn and I think it wouldn't be more lower than that. But again, no one knows.

I think bitcoin can go lower, but $2,600 seems too low at this point. I believe $4k could be possible, but it does not look all that likely that we will sink down that low unless something seriously damaging to the entire ecosystem to push things back.
15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin overcome Paypal? on: March 22, 2018, 04:50:49 PM
For me, There is nothing to make a comparison between bitcoin and PayPal. Both are necessary depending on the users' needs. PayPal uses there interface to exchange fiat across borders and bitcoin uses it's own digital currency as payment currency and payment interface through exchanges as well. These systems are not competitors to each other.

Yeah if you think about it, Paypal is already a pretty dated system in terms of usability. I can easily see bitcoin or other payments blockchains far surpasing the value of paypal and also the volume of transactions, payments are increasingly natively digital now.
16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin worth risking your time and money? on: March 21, 2018, 02:08:59 PM
Spending time and some money on things that can give you a better life in the next years is really worth it. Rather than wasting my time to entertain myself. I wasted already too many. If only I could go back and start early in bitcoin.

I believe bitcoin presents a really attractive investment from a risk reward perspective, especially for younger investors. If this market becomes as large as many of us believe, you are looking at venture capital style returns on a liquid asset.
17  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: G20 Calls for Crypto Regulation Recommendations By July on: March 21, 2018, 02:58:04 AM
G20 conclusions: They say crypto is not currency. It is an asset. It does not harm at this moment. !
We will grow in the future. I believe so. 2018 will be the boom year for crytpo  Grin Grin Grin Grin BTCBTCBTCBTCBTCBTCBTC
to correct you:

its not MONEY
but is a currency

there is a difference
no government can decide what currency is. cigarettes in prison can be a currency, sexual favours/beer/cigars/pizza between friends in exchange for other favours can be a currency

governments can only decide what is or isnt MONEY

currency is a umbrella term which pretty much anything, which everything then fits into sub categories below the umbrella term. for instance
assets are investment holdings currency(gold, art.antiques, bitcoin)
commodity currencies are raw produce used to make secondary products (beef, wheat, gold, oil)
mortgage/credit agreements/insurance policies(the contracts/promissory notes themselves) are a currency but not money they are asset currencies (banks privately trade these behind the scenes)

money is legal tender of a country and authorised by law of the nominated/named country to be used to buy things and by law pay taxes/court fines/pay minimum wage

in short
crypto assets are a currency but are not money

I'd say the definition they defined at the G20 was pretty accurate. Most cryptocurrencies at this stage are not currency they are assets, they are largely being bought to have access to certain services or uses and for investment.
18  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think HODL is bad for your health? on: March 20, 2018, 04:34:25 PM
Well, if you respect the main rule about investment, in my opinion, which is to only invest money you can afford to lose: there is nothing to worry about your health.

I think for most people that are heavily engaged with crypto it can be stressful. Especially for people also working in the space, but this is natural with all investments. Its just with crypto the volatility is so much more extreme it can be hard at times.
19  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The simple and undeniable reason why all cryptocurrencies will collapse on: March 20, 2018, 03:19:46 PM
Galileo Galilei once said, “All truths are easy to understand once they are discovered; the point is to discover them.” Discovering truth about cryptocurrencies (cryptos) and showing that they are not money but faith based schemes that are bound to collapse, is the goal of this article. The first step toward achieving this goal is to explain why economic relations between people, where transfer of ownership rights is taking place, cannot be based on faith, and how, in that regard, cryptos differ from tangible goods and fiat money. After that, we will know what money actually is, and what it represents. Given this knowledge it will become clear why cryptos never were, nor ever will be money. The rest you can read here: https://cryptofraud.wordpress.com/

I don't think any one is really arguing that altcoins are currencies in the traditional sense, most people tend to believe they are assets and as such if they are successful their value should rise over the long term. Bitcoin is more similar to gold than fiat.
20  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin a criminal tool? on: March 19, 2018, 11:27:21 AM
Is bitcoin a criminal tool? Well, it may be. Is a lady stocking a criminal tool? Well, it may be, beacuse it may be used to rob a bank and even worse it may be used to attract males to a female sex-worker.

Do you see how absurd it is even to ask such questions? Even sun glasses may be a criminal tool because they hide one's identity...

You could argue anything is a criminal tool, usd cash has got to be the most widely used criminal tool in the world. At least with bitcoin you are not senseless wasting resources on a piece of paper. With bitcoin there is a trail so if someone finds the transaction it can be traced.
