Amagi not accepting fiat? LOL! Their "announcement" came out on August 20 2014. This is around 4 months after Agora Commodities announced (in March) that they would not be taking credit cards. This aside, this is what Amagi said in April, and I quote: We did OVER $200,000 in just bitcoin sales in the last 24 hours. That is just bitcoin sales. Normally bitcoin revenue is only a small part of our business, but in the last 24 hours it was a large part of our business. We are working overtime and super hard to get your orders out the door. We appreciate your patience and your business. The bitcoin community rocks!
So, Amagi, you're telling me that in seven months (April to October) of Bitcoin going up and down, and bullion prices doing the same, thus resulting in somewhat slower business than usual for most companies dealing with that kind of thing, your Bitcoin business shot up dramatically enough for you to warrant such an announcement? What happened to Bitcoin revenue being a small part of your business? Get over yourselves. I think they're just putting the whole thing about not accepting fiat out there for teh lulz, so to speak.

Could you share some more information about your precious metals storage program?

As an avid buyer of precious metals with BTC I have a few bones to pick with your website.. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to be difficult. This is constructive criticism. Your domain name has Whois guard. You will find that most people who regularly deal with BTC and precious metals will be a lot happier dealing with you and trusting you if you remove it. Your website looks like it was put together in under an hour. Your product descriptions are not your own. Most, if not all other BTC-accepting precious metals businesses use their own descriptions or at least heavily amended generic descriptions. You may have been trying to get your business up and running as soon as possible, but it really does look like a hastily finished product. For example the same gold Eagle description that you're using is used on Alibaba.com. You're a brand new business that accepts a non-refundable payment option and you have a minimum order of 5 oz gold and 100 oz of silver? On that basis I would probably not order from you because I would like to have a low-risk option of testing the waters - like placing a small order first and then seeing how it goes from there. I did not see a shipping cost anywhere on the website until I reached the checkout page. It would be a good idea to tell your customers upfront that you'll be charging them $25 shipping no matter what the order amount is. As far as I know Bitpay charges a 1% fee to non-account customers and 0% if you open an account for $30 a month. Could you please explain the 1,5% Bitpay fee added on top of the order at checkout? On your website it says you only list products that you have in stock. Could you post a picture of 5 Perth gold bars and 100 silver rounds with a hand-written note that has your username, my username and date written on it?

A secret shopper from http://buygoldwithbitcoin.com/ recently made a purchase from 4 of the largest precious metals companies that accept bitcoins: Agora Commodities, Coinabul, GoldSilverBitcoin, and Amagi Metals. Sounds exciting! Could you post a link to the review?

Could I make a suggestion? It would benefit your customers greatly if we could sort products by Price Low-High and High-Low and A-Z.
Ok I just implemented price sorting per your suggestion Thanks! I received my knife, by the way! Your shipping speed is great and I'd highly recommend your services! Thanks.

They have /an/ address.
Most of the large vendors have multiple physical locations. The "main office" is often not where the actual material is stored.
Amagi doesn't even have /an/ address. If they do please be so kind to point it out. Liberty Metals Group has stores in California and Arizona and I have been to both. They have both addresses listed on their website. AJPM has four walk-in locations listed on the main page on their website. Gainesville has a showroom with an address.

Found it! Our bitcoin sales range between $500k-$1 million per month and that does not include our traditional sales which we usually do much more of than bitcoin sales. We actually do ship silver (that is not pre-ordered) within 24 business hours. Gold is now shipping 1-7 business days. We have hired several additional staff to speed up shipments. Now that the markets are no longer in relative turmoil shipments are getting sent pretty quickly. In addition, no precious metals eCommerce dealer ships same day. Call Provident Metals/APMEX/Gainesville. See how their business model works. Ours is pretty much the same, however we normally ship faster than them now...
Why are people waiting on their in-stock silver then?
|
|
|
Many eCommerce bullion businesses do not post their physical address because they are pushing through tens, or hundreds of millions of dollars per month in gold and silver. On any given day they may have up to $10 million dollars in precious metals.
That's bs. For example all merchants currently on comparesilverprices.com apart from Amagi Metals have their address(es) listed on their websites.

Holliday,
Fine print aside I expect good customer service. And there are a few people pissed off with the shipping arrangements. Also, there already is a Bitcoin accepting business that ships faster than Amagi. They have a thread on this forum too.

I've dealt with Amagi Metals a few times (Whether they know it or not) and I've never had a problem. Two weeks for precious metal deliveries is not uncommon. If you order from sites like APMEX or Provident, 1-1.5 weeks is about average. Some sites that offer competitive pricing can take as long as 2 months if you don't order a very large order. So while 2 weeks may seem like a while, in perspective, its not out of the ordinary. Perhaps a bit longer than you would have liked, but isn't this more a case of giving them negative feedback for shipping speed, rather than claiming it was a scam?
And some smaller online dealers ship their in-stock items the same day or the next. Which is what I would expect from an in-stock item.

You are blissfully ignorant of your competition, which I think is great for the latter as they do ship their in-stock items the same day or at most the next business day, like Bitweasil said. But hey, you are a big important company. Who cares about a few foolish customers rightfully demanding their in-stock items to be shipped without delay.
|
|
|
I want the small one. Where are you shipping from?
|
|
|
two week shipping delay, which is quite normal long ship times Why is a two week shipping delay ok when the item is in stock? I know other btc/bullion dealers that ship their in-stock items the same business day or at the most – the next. A two week delay for an in-stock item is unacceptable.

Would you like for me to post all of the emails full of lies you have sent me and correlate them to the lies you have continued to post here in the forums?
Could you? And the tracking number.
