1  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: December 12, 2017, 01:59:25 PM
What is the recommended Chip temp for S9?
Im currently running between 85-91C.

under 95 c  is okay

over 100 c is not so good.

in-between 95c - 100c   is unit to unit.

based on  use of 20 units from  June 2016 until now.

also room temps   can be cold  10c  or warm  35c

and inbetween.

Getting a couple S9's online, 14TH batch. Any way to adjust the fan speed and Clock anymore? cold basement and chips are 68-71. I'd like to turn fans down for noise and run chips around 88-92. I remember seeing a URL link to still access the fan and click settings, latest shipped FW does not have those options anymore.

Where did you get these from?

Ordered a couple months ago directly from Bitmain. I was the December batch, just received them yesterday. Tempted to sell some since going for over 5K on Ebay, but who know BTC could be 25k in a couple months

I like the mining idea as long as prices are relatively high. But, who knows now that there is an orderly market. I like Ethereum too given the smart contracts focus, and maybe someday we'll see a flippening, but I haven't seen any rigs aside from PandaMiner. I put in an RFQ through Alibaba for Trade Assurance, but I'm not sure if i'll get any play. I'm 99% sure i'll wait until Bitmain rolls out their next batch or potentially look into the DragonMint rigs (16TH/s) with heavy hitters in the industry verifying authenticity through Twitter instead of using a reseller. But, I certainly wouldn't pay 3.5x the cost although some people may if there is a market on eBay. More power to you if you get some bids and want to sell them versus use them.

P.S.: Hopefully I don't get banned for referencing "Ethereum" and "flippening" in this sub-section Smiley..

Dont JUST DONT. Dont buy miner from any site other then Bitmain or you will get CUCUMBERED. Most of the sites are bullshit "Legit Bitmain Distributor"... Legit my ass. Bitmain doesn't have any distributors, and most of the time you will lose your money, and never see it again. You can buy it from Ebay for 3-4-5k or just wait for Bitmain.

I think you are correct, which is certainly unfortunate. Everyone agree with this?

I am looking to purchase some Bitmain S9 rigs. Since the original manufacturer has sold out of their January 2018 batch I am looking for an alternative vendor/reseller as i'd prefer not to wait until March 2018 or April 2018 for DragonMint (Halong Mining). However, I don't want to pay double the cost for something I can alternatively wait a few months for.

Does anyone have any legitimate vendors that they have used to purchase Bitmain S9 rigs from? I was looking at Bitcoinware.shop, but I am unsure given some of the feedback I have seen on this website.

Thanks so much in advance.
