When I first installed my two 5830 cards I had no problems mining but now my computer freezes when starting the mining program (I am using DiabloMiner). After the first few days of mining for some reason I had to connect to the bottom card to start my mining but now that dosent work anymore. I was getting internal error: compilation failed and it was suggested to update the drivers to try to fix and that worked but then I rolled them back to get better fps on bad company 2. I had only rolled them back from 11.5 to 11.2 (I was originally using 10.10) and again I got the internal error: compilation failed so I updated again to 11.5 and now my computer freezes when trying to mine. My problems started when I removed the plastic cover from the bottom video card trying to get lower temps from the card, I had already put a aftermarket cooler on the top card and had no problems from that.
Hello I need a couple things cleared up for me, first off After I install Ubuntu and the bitcoin program and generate the 10 addresses why am I saving all the addresses and not just one? Will I be fine leaving a copy of the wallet on the usb drive that has Ubuntu on it or would that be a bad idea? And now that I will have 10 new addresses I can send my current btc to any one of those and then delete the wallet that is on my HD or do I need to leave that so I can send future btc from my HD to my new addresses? Also I don't need to mine with Ubuntu it is just a medium for safe transactions of my btc correct?
So why should I not enable crossfire when mining I have heard to enable it and now not to. Now that I am not running crossfire and connecting to each card to start the miner my second card is down by nearly 1000 blocks. I am new to this stuff and all the research I try doing dosen't come up with much, I know people have talked about the dummy plugs and that sounds to be what I need to do. And just guessing but if I run a dummy plug to my other card I can start both miners from one card without having crossfire enabled correct? BTW I edited my post above yours this morning because I could not reply for some reason.
EDIT For some reason I cannot post a reply but anyway I updated my drivers and now it is working again. I started up my first miner then connected to the other card and gave starting that one a shot it didn't work the first time and gave me some errors (if you want to know what they are I will edit again and post them) but I pulled back up my info and to my supprise it started mining.
10.10, I am running two 5830 cards so that was the recommended on the first page. I have been mining with these for 4 days now and have not had this happen till today.
So if I get a dummy plug will I have to connect to the other card to set it up for mining? If so I cannot do that till I figure out my problem with that other card, for some reason the last two days when I try to run diablominer when connected to that monitor my computer freezes.
I am trying to mine with two 5830 cards and I am wondering if what I am doing is correct or not. I have my cards connected with the two crossfire cables (crossfire enabled in CCC) and have two miners registered with deepbit. I red that you have to connect your monitor to each card so you can setup your different miners. I have tried connecting my monitor to my second video card after setting up my first miner but my monitor just says DVI no signal and then the monitor goes blank. If I set up both miners using DiabloMiner the KH per second goes down to around 200k but if I run just one miner it goes way up to 350k-400k. running windows 7 32 bit
I joined this pool about 1 week ago and was mining with two 4850 cards and just upgraded to two 5830 cards. Now that I have these newer cards all my blocks are slowly but surely being rejected. I was going to use poclbm miner but it dosent work with with bitcoin 0.3.22 for mining locally so I decided to stick with DiabloMiner for now. I am really new to mining so will it effect me if I don't have local mining or should I just stick with DiabloMiner till the problem with local mining is fixed?
2nd: I got my key (wallet thingy) by installing the official bitcoin program which showed a "your Bitcoin Address" And I used that in the "My account" page. Is that ok?
Yes [/quote]
I also have a question about the wallet thing I just started mining yesterday my self. Should I only use the address in the bitcoin program or can I put the address to the wallet.dat in the bitcoin folder?
