1  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Eligius: 0% Fee BTC, 105% PPS NMC, No registration, CPPSRB on: June 27, 2019, 04:42:51 PM
So is, or isn't the pool still / ever going to be alive?
The domain is renewed (http://www.eligius.st/), but appears not to be configured for even a landing page.
It seems there's a dwindling few of us who even remember the pool exists (existed).
I trust LukeJr, if he says the word that it's alive...
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CryptCoin monitor App on: September 05, 2018, 11:56:33 PM
A few years ago, I paid for the donate version of the CryptCoin Monitor App.
It still works great!  I just now got a new phone, and after installing the app from a backup, that works great too!
But the app didn't auto-install using Samsung's Smart Switch / Google Play Store reinstall process, it had to be done manually.

Hmmmm...  so why am I writing?
I'm confused ... that this app is no longer in the Google Play store, and that I've found no mention of it elsewhere (other app stores, private website, etc.).
The price of BTC has risen sharply (sadly, I sold almost all of my gains when it was at $1k).
But it seems that an app like this would still be useful today, or is nobody mining nowadays?
Perhaps Google isn't getting a cut, or, the app didn't meet their evolving guidelines (perhaps they're discouraging cryptocurrency apps as it's harder to get their cut?).
3  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Eligius: 0% Fee BTC, 105% PPS NMC, No registration, CPPSRB on: August 09, 2018, 03:20:12 AM
I don't check stats while mining Eligius for reasons ... but I randomly checked a couple of my Antminers, and they're timing out while trying to reach Eligius' pool, and they've gone to the backup pool elsewhere automatically.

I did a quick web search, and it looks like no changes to the Eligius main page.  And the stats still shows page not found.

Believing that I'm mining for a real pool, by faith alone, could someone please verify whether the pool is still operational (maybe my ISP?).

Please find/make time to make more progress on the stats pages?
I'm still mining in the blind, on faith, for years now.  I need to see some stats for motivation.

Hi Wizkid, I just wanted to drop you a quick note to wish you happy holidays, and to say the payout came through.  I was surprised we've solved so little as it's been so long, but I trust the numbers as we're flying blind at this time. With the payout, I'll check into patching up a couple of rigs. Thank you for taking time to process payouts, and best wishes for happy holidays!

Hi WizKid,

Sorry for the challenges and stress you now face.  There truly is no one-for-all solution to help, just rest and, keep your health up throughout the mess.

You mentioned the pool not solving any blocks in 3 months or so - Thank you for the update.  Sincerely.
I think you'll find that once there is time to put status back up and running, it will encourage more users to mine at the pool, and increase the chances of solving a block.
But to be fair, that's just my opinion.

Regardless, more important than stats, take care of your situation, and then try to regain some semblance of a good life.

Hi WizKid,

Recent BTC values are looking pretty good.  Any chance you could make some minimal stats page available for those of us still pointed here, to have a clue what we've accumulated / possible target upcoming payout period?  Nothing fancy at all, perhaps just snapshot current hash rate, accumulated balance pending payout, and update the payout queue estimates.  Doesn't even need the charts, if that's part of what's holding back stats.  Would appreciate any updates.  Thank you.
8  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [14000Th] Eligius: 0% Fee BTC, 105% PPS NMC, No registration, CPPSRB on: June 15, 2017, 12:47:17 AM
...

As of the most recent payout all blocks found by Eligius-Hu have been distributed to miners.  Eligius-Hu's offline wallet holds a bit over 1 BTC worth of miner funds as the sum of funds due to miners who have not yet reached the minimum payout amount (roughly 0.01 BTC).

When the pool finds its next block, I will process the payout accordingly.  I am still working on getting stats and automatic payouts back online, however the past several months have been exhausting (unrelated to Eligius) and I have not had the time required to complete everything needed.  My time is opening back up again, and I plan to move forward full force on completing these projects ASAP.

Thanks, WK, for your personal efforts in keeping the pool up and running.
For the record, I feel you handled the transition payout very fairly, and I know I couldn't have done any better myself.

I understand too well what it's like being exhausted from the day job, and I appreciate your choosing to spend some of your own personal time to improve the site for all users.
My rigs remain pointed here, at the Eligius pool.

I had donated a small amount to stats development before the pool died. As the stats were never further developed, is it possible to have the donation returned??

It seems to me that the pool did not 'die', only the stats stopped updating after the pool backend upgrade.
As recently as May 25, 2017, we received a payout, and though stats aren't giving us the warm fuzzy we'd like, the dev is still on the scene, and does write from time to time.
I understand what it's like to be saturated with a day job to the exclusion of any hobbies, even for weeks at a time.

I continue to mine, but like others, I too would appreciate some update to the stats, if even if it's just to show one's accumulated balance (especially with BTC's current exchange rate).
But I'd personally be satisfied if we could just get payouts on a monthly / bi-monthly basis for users with a balance of over 0.01 BTC.

Wizkid,

Sincere thanks for the effort, and for 'making time' where there was none to help out the miners who've stuck with it, and to remind those that haven't, that you are truly committed to this site and community, though you have other obligations as well, just like the rest of us.

I was traveling when I did a refresh and the payout came through. Tired from travel, I thought my eyes had blurred, and the number in my wallet hadn't just doubled, but also gained a zero!

Would be nice to implemented forced monthly payouts, pending getting the stats page updated and running. Current BTC rates are at an all time high, and those of us still mining are pumping BTC towards an unknown payout. I sincerely appreciate the back payout months ago. It shows integrity, honesty.  But missing the window when BTC has value, unable to trade or buy with earned coin, that matters too.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [POOL] YAAMP.COM multipool multialgo profit switch with exchange on: June 16, 2015, 05:36:48 PM
I made a small Android widget to monitor my workers and balances. You can have different widgets for each individual algo. It does a basic graph, shows profitability  for the select algo etc.

Feel free to check it out:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.inductiveconcepts.yaampwidget

Installed the widget, looks very good (Using the 2x1 size widget on SGN4, Android 5.0.1).

Tapping once on the widget brings up graphs, but the current hashrate defaults to X11, and is currently not selectable / point-able to one's currently mined algo.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [POOL] YAAMP.COM multipool multialgo profit switch with exchange on: June 15, 2015, 06:20:50 AM

Thanks, Joblo, but my goal wasn't to setup my rig to auto-switch algo's, rather to know which was more profitable for reference.

most profitable algo is individual for every miner,
you have password options to adjust profitability estimates.
and this has nothing to do with btc or ltc since those being mined with asics

Thanks, Unklo.  I understand profitability varies drastically based on mining hardware, and upon settings.
Comparing the efficiency between ASIC's and GPU is not the purpose.

The relative profitability percentage uses BTC only as a common payment medium, and LTC as a base with which to index altcoin algo's on a GPU vs mining LTC on the same given GPU. Each altcoin algo's running profitability can be indexed for relative profitability by pairing the coin vs LTC on a common exchange site (Cryptsy, etc), deducting assumed fees and exchange losses, and sorting the resulting BTC payout yields.  One practical purpose might be to decide what algo to base new or re-purposed rigs upon.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [POOL] YAAMP.COM multipool multialgo profit switch with exchange on: June 14, 2015, 04:10:58 PM
Yaamp tries to pick the most profitable coin per algo, points miners there, then auto-exchanges to BTC.  Sounds great.

But how profitable is each algo at the time vs ... mining basic LTC for exchange, or, just mining BTC?

About a year ago, another algo mining exchanger site,  Wafflepool, went down for the count. That site had a running profitability comparison showing estimated value add for this or that algo vs LTC or BTC.  I'm sure it was not so accurate, but it could give miners a sense that ... X11 might be better today, or Scrypt-N, etc.

I'd like to see a profitability percentage vs LTC or BTC added in a column beside supported algo's on Yaamp.  It's helpful to know the more profitable algo both for setting up one's rig's, and also for watching the exchanges and / or rig rentals scene. .
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [POOL] YAAMP.COM multipool multialgo profit switch with exchange on: May 28, 2015, 06:16:54 AM
Glad to see the site back up and running.

Disappointed at not yet seeing a Scrypt-N algo.
Perhaps that will be up too in the next few days?
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [POOL] YAAMP.COM Scrypt/Neo/Lyra2/X11/X13/X14/X15 Profit switch with exchange on: February 20, 2015, 04:01:53 AM
Would it be possible to add an estimate number and graph for BTC gain per hour / day?
I understand it would be only an 'estimate', but it would give a cumulative idea of how all algos/rigs are performing in a trend / snapshot.

A feature I also miss from another multi-algo with btc exchange site was a number that showed 'relatively' how the YAAMP auto-switcher is making more profitable coin choices vs the base LTC and BTC coin.  For example, the site may have another column for each coin, plugging in a profitability comparison number / %.

Good to see the site running, and I've steered other miners here as well.  Would love to see it continue, and to see some of the above improvements as well.  Thank you!
17  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Does SMOS works with the Gridseeds ??? on: April 18, 2014, 10:11:33 PM
I'm interested as well.

SMOS is based on BAMT, and defaults to mining with CGMiner.
I've searched for Gridseed with BAMT and found nothing.
But Gridseed does work with CGMiner.  More reading says a modified version of CGMiner is preferred (required?), which allows possible software overclocking (unverified) to some degree, and improved hash statistics.

Ideally, I would prefer a version of SMOS which would optionally handle both Gpu and Scrypt capable ASIC's together, to take advantage of all hardware available. AND, would also be CPU mining enabled as a user option (the m/b's already running, why not pull another 100k if it's there? ).
