1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Real info to sign up for exchanges>? on: January 04, 2018, 07:40:34 AM
yeah OK that makes sense. There's no particular reason. I'm just a big fan of privacy, just wanted to get the lay of the land and see how important or crucial it is. I hope down the line I am make a decent amount of money doing this. Hell if I had followed my gut originally instead of waiting til now I would be filthy rich but alas I didn't. Tis the story of many of Us I am sure. I am worried after reading that coinbase is reporting to the IRS. Thats really one of my main reasons as I don't want my crypto be counted against me if at all possible.

It seems I will have to use my real ID to buy some cryptos in the beginning. Unfortunately I cant mine for beans on this POS. I get about 4 h/s hah real bad. hell my cellphone can hash better than this pos. anyway It seems I can go with coinbase, changelly or coinmama, I know you can try and do random stuff with people on some p2p but like with everything it seems there's a huge % that makes buying hard to swallow. Is that what everyone who doesn't mine have had to do? I wish there was a way to buy with like paypal or something
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Real info to sign up for exchanges>? on: January 03, 2018, 04:29:38 AM
Ive almost exclusively never used my real name or info on anything internet related like email or forums or anything. except on a few places I've bought items from like where you have no choice.

I was kinda gathering that I need to use my real identity and stuff for signing up. I cant just got by my handle or whatever on these exchanges? is that how it is for all of them or just some of them? what happens if i just give my name as Dark Star. would it matter? It just seems weird since crypto seems to be a lot about protecting identities.

I believe I read the other day that coinbase is sending info to the IRS on clients. thats a bummer!

I wanted to get in on ripple back when it was .20, I was waiting for my ledger nano s to get here. Well it finally got here and its over $2. Not sure how I feel about still getting massive amounts like I planned. Kinda wish I had just done a regular wallet and got into the exchanges sooner. oh well there will be other things. That was the only coin that I had no doubt it would rise. at least 4 or 5x. I didn't expect it to hit 2 dollars so fast though.

Anyways I was about to sign up at binance and bittrex and a couple others. I saw the spot for referral. I know that having referrals helps some of ya'll get bonus's and goodies whatever, depending on the site. So I figured I'd be nice and help someone out, feel free to post or PM me your referrals for any of the exchanges your on or recommend. I see no reason to sign up with no one getting a bonus. If I can help some of ya'll by doing what I was going to anyway then all the better right? unless there is a reason to do it without?

anyways hit me!
4  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Trezor or Ledger? on: December 29, 2017, 09:08:07 AM
I'm surprised no one has mentioned the bitlox. Though I the OP is about Trezor or Ledger. I have a ledger, after a bunch of research that was the one I went with over the Trezor. I think the ledger is better, but they're all excellent choices. I think the only thing going for Trezor that ledger doesnt is that its been around longer, but honestly it doesnt mean much as long as they are both secure.

I like the bitlox because you dont have to interact with chrome or anything. I like the shape. I love the features. its quite a bit more expensive. The fact that its a true stand alone hardware wallet is what makes it the best. the security is top top notch! do a search, learn a bit, there are quite a few hardware wallets besides the Trez and the Ledg. The Bitlox is for the serious of serious when it comes to security!

While I have no experience with the keepkey I like that one quite a bit as well. I think it would have been option #2 over the Trezor. though to be truly honest I didn't research it as much as trez and ledg though but what I did made me like the it more than the trez. and it think it looks the best of the 3.

good luck! going hardware is the only way to go if your planning on anything long term in the crypto world.
