I'm thinking of opening an e-commerce store with a open cart back end that will accept bitcoins.
I'm not looking to use coinbase or other third party processors but I'd rather just accept the bitcoins myself.
Does anyone have any experience or suggestions relating to my project?

Gox found me a solution  , after you get past their front line bots they have some pretty smart people working in the back. Lesson of the day pay for the faster fee. |

We sincerely apologize for the problems caused. Actually we had an issue with the synchronization of the hot wallets with our cold storage(a methodology to prevent the intruders to hack the BTC directly from the server) and the same had been resolved. However we are still having few transactions(hash) failing to enter the block chain. Already we are in the verge of re broadcasting all of the transactions that had an issue and hopefully this is resolved sooner.
A special thanks for confirming the capabilities of your wallet address and it was helpful while we escalated the issue to the development team.
Also be noted that the hash: "a326763ea5294879aa16c32b345d2627705006fee16369851af411f9fecd2854" still is in our MtGox transaction that needs to be broadcast and 100% be assured that your BTC's are not lost.
Once again sorry for the delay and thanks for the kind understanding.
We will speak to you once the coins are purged out.

There are huge problems getting USD for that matter other fiat currencies EUR, CAD etc. out of MTGox so those who have USD, EUR, CAD etc trapped in MTGox are willing to pay a premium in order to get the money out in the form of BTC.

Missing BTC withdrawal. On August 11th I attempted a simple BTC transfer from my Gox account to another BTC address. A simple bitcoin transaction that should have hit the blockchain immediately. A week and a half later nothing on blockchain for the transaction hash and the money is gone from my account. First thing support told me was to wait 24-72hrs but now they're telling me it might take up to 2 weeks to show up on the blockchain because it's a big withdrawal. All I get from support is the same 'we are looking into it' response' with no actual action. My money no longer exists anywhere tangible and there has been progress on recovering any of my funds. Now I feel like i'm in a dire situation and dunno what to do because this is a considerable sum. I'm so desperate I signed up for a facebook account to try to get some help. Is anyone from Gox listening?
Please post actual evidence of the chat you had or email with their support to prove the bolded claim. That's nothing...i've withdrawn XXX BTC in the past week from gox and it took a couple of hours. I don't think I believe you. I left out an x, its actually xxxxBTC. Is there any way you could take a screenshot of your conversation? Finding out the truth behind this is of the utmost importance... the implications would be huge. If this isn't resolved soon, I'll publicize all the chat logs. |

Nobody wants to hear this, but Gox is broke.
how can they be broke, when all they do is make money from transaction fees? Are they using my money for something else? |

We all know how long does it take for 6 confirmations. And... your internet connection speed? Network congestion? Really? What a fscking load of bollocks. Gox support is BS, I've come to conclude that they are a bunch of outsourced workers in India with no real power to make any decisions. I've asked over 10 times to speak to a supervisor and all I keep getting is that our supervisor has no authority to manually process your transaction, even though it hasn't even been processed and therfor I have 0 unconfirmed transactions pending. |
