1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Currently Mining to Bitcion directly - should I covert to something else? on: January 08, 2018, 04:51:24 AM
Currently I'm mining and converting all my altcoins to bitcoin - I was wondering if I should convert to ZEC or ETH or something else instead of bitcoin?

WHat's your thoughts on what we should be holding?

Questions I wanna know before I ask someone in person:
1. If my panel is only 200amp, can we reduce any amps for the bedrooms to give more Amps for the shed?

You have 200 total, entire house draw and draw per breaker different things.

2. Can we add a brand new 200amp box just dedicated for the shed but would be billed on the same electric bill monthly? (might be a eclectic company question)

You CAN add a 200A sub, but you need to understand MAX house draw and how much are you pulling so you can be sure not to overload your Main

3. Can I put the electrical wiring and the Ethernet wiring in the same trench or run them on the fence line to the shed to save from not digging? (Shed is approx. 170ft away from panel)

You can, some electricians will tell you there might be feedback/talkback/chatter whatever it's called usually there's a min distance so up to you really I haven't noticed any I ran an Ethernet on my 220 line no issues.

any possible ideas, or other things to think about please let me know. I don't want to spend $1000-$2000 just installing electric when there might be better ways

I usually use TDP 60 for maximum energy efficiency, i don't OC too much.

Am i wrong ?

Is it good for all algos or for each algo the TDP can be regulated better ?

I pay high electric so I try to max out TDP vs hash too, eve3ryone is different

So what's everyone mining with the Ryzen?

Looking to buy some GTX cards. Phil i believe you've always spoke highly of EVGA. how do the others fall in line after that ? zotac / msi.... then gigabyte / Asus ?

Evga stock is running slim on Amazon. Looking to try to get the next best. Let me know your thoughts ?

most cards are out of stock

here are some 1070 ti's

msi is okay
zotac is okay
asus is okay

I am not a gigabyte fan

Phil - whats the 1080ti Hybrid partnumber - the one with the single 8pin ? Thanks

The Evga is a 1080 hybrid. Not a 1080 ti

1070 Ti Hybrid is 1 8 Pin, is the 1080 Ti hybrid 8+6 or 8x2?
Also is 1080 Hybrid 8+6 or 8x2? Thank you phil

1080's have a tiny bit better than 1070 Ti's?

Need an advice

Do my corsair rm1000x can handle 3x 1080ti?

No issues at all for me.

I have 3 cards @ 75% tdp, about 190-200w each so say 600w for the cards, around 100-200w for the system depending on what you have, so you're under 800w, so you still have that 20% safety of a 1000w PSU running at 80% load.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Mining with Ryzen 7 and Rx 570 - Hash - Algo - Pool on: December 28, 2017, 05:53:29 AM
Hey every body!

I just bought a Ryzen 7 1700x and a RX 570 to test the waters with. I usually mine with the green team.

These numbers are straight out of the box using XMR Stack 2.2 mining Monero - I was just wondering should I be getting more from the Ryzen? Looks like it's about 480 H/s and the Rx 570 is only 500 H/s

I've never modded clocks before so just wondering suggestions for a noob. I've read a couple of guides on other forums, can't really find much on it here.

Also curious what coin would be better fit for 570's and Ryzen over Monero? Cryptonight/Sumo?

Yes mining is a passion. I have tinkered with my gaming rig daily installing new software and trying new coins to mine and software to install.

So are you guys selling all crypto and converting to rigs, or holding long term?
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / What's your OPINION - Buying New Mining Rigs VS. Holding onto Bitcoins U Have? on: December 19, 2017, 07:11:23 AM
First and foremost I want to thank all the really cool and helpful people on this site, I've learned so much just by coming on here and reading what I can a couple times a week the past couple years.

Just wondering what everyone's opinion is -

I know I'm late to the game - a tiny bit. I've been mining over the past year with my Gaming Rig with just 2 1080 Ti's as a hobby.

The Bitcoins I have I bought a long time ago and have just been holding onto them, I have currently 20 bitcoins and was wondering your opinions - what would you do?

Would you continue to just hold onto them or would you invest in more mining equipment?

I was thinking about taking out about maybe 5 or 6 coins to start an actual "farm".

What I would build would be 1070 Ti rigs and 1080 Ti rigs.

What I'd like to discus is would you guys having the choice, would you hold onto your coins, or would you take out a portion to build mining rigs?

Thanks all - let's keep it clean, I value everyone's opinion and hope we can have an awesome discussion - I'm interested in the future and where we're all headed.
