HA, thanks for the very detailed response and all of your advice.
I will reduce the core and memory and try and get more stability with those miners mentioned.

I appreciate the link to the PG Bench as this is what i am looking for, auto tune for the various algorithms.

Also, do you limit the pools you mine to a few, or several and also which ones do you use or prefer.

Thanks in advance.

HA, thanks.
I did copy the miners and it worked on one rig, but not the other Huh, it still comes up with the same error.
I will do a clean install on this to get it running properly.
I checked all three of them, and the net 4.7.2 was already installed on them.

Also, whats the best way to benchmark on a clean install. Do you use a default overclock for all benchmark and then a custom overclock for specific algorithms?
How do you benchmark your software and what settings do you use.
I know it all depends upon your GPu, but for my 1080Ti, its 65, 125, 400. Am having crashes sometimes, but probably due to my settings.

Interested to hear what settings you use.

Cheers

Thanks for the detailed response.
I Downloaded the update from 2.4.1 to the latest, however in the error tab, it states 'Failed to extract miner package file' for 6 x miners. Cool, yes, ccminer spmodgit etc.

I have restarted the miner twice, system restart and installed the latest version again, but still the same error.

Those are all miner programs archived in the .7z format.  That issue has happened to several other users and depends on the install folder and your Windows config.  Some OS configs do not give the 7Z extractor the disk permissions required to extract the miner files to some locations.  This happened to one user who was trying to run the software form a folder on the Desktop. A few other users had to move the software from the default install location in the AppData folder to a different directory  on their hard drive.

The easiest way to move the software would be to use the HA installer to install the software  in a new location of your choosing. As long as the gpu*.* and config.* file’s demain in the Hash Auger folder in the /AppData directory, it will use your current config and benchmarks.

I have tried to install in another folder, but still the same problem. Its installed in the default location with a shortcut on the desktop.
Also, when the software is started, everytime it takes about 4 minutes to initialize and then open and about another minute, while all the miners download in the download tab. I installed it on a second miner and about the same time to initialize and download. I just thought that this was how long it takes, with the same error trying to extract the miners.
Downloaded and installed on the third miner, and it initialize within seconds and is ready to start and extracts all the miners.
The only thing different is the first two were initially installed with version 2.4.1 and updated, whilst the last miner was 2.4.5.
Any ideas?

HA, I have a few questions,
For the new updates, do we have to install the latest and then set everything up again with wallets and settings etc and then benchmark, or is there an easier way to update to the latest.
I have selected to use the eth pill, is there a way to see if it is running or which algo's its being applied to, or does it run for all of them.
Also, sometimes in the earnings, i see it raise quite suddenly over a period of a few hours, but then drop down again, but not a payout.

Like the fact that it mines the alg based upon profit.

So if i change it to 0 will it benchmark at 100% initially and then lower the power limit to find the most profitable power setting afterwards?
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Forager] v18.09 - Multi-Pool profit switching miner (AMD/NVIDIA/CPU) on: September 05, 2018, 12:32:41 PM
Thanks for the quick reply.
It was running ok yesterday, but not today after adding the gpu groups.

Am running Afterburner 4.5.0 and Adrenalin 18.8.1

Afterburner is running prior to launching Forager. After launching several times and resetting the Afterburner power limit to back to 0, each time.
Anytime i have GPU groups it always changes the power limit to +50% in afterburner, on the screen with new interval started with the green writing is loading.
I have tried several times with GPU groups with 2 x 580 and 4 x 480 and each time it changes the power limit to +50%. I have tried only the 2 x 580 and then only the 4 x 480 and the same power limit increase.
I have then removed the GPU Groups so they all run together, and the power limit stays the same and does not change.

Not sure if i am missing something, but this is what i have put in the config file, from the device list bat.

GpuGroups = [{"GroupName": "RX580s", "Type": "AMD", "Devices": "2,3", "PowerLimits": "100"}, {"GroupName": "RX480s", "Type": "AMD", "Devices": "0,1,4,5", "PowerLimits": "100"}]

4ward, good looking miner, but just a few questions,

How to disable Nvidia on a mixed rig
What core and clock speeds do you recommend for 480 and 580's
I normally run MSI with power limit -35, do i leave this as is or do I change it to 0 and will Forager work out the most profitable?
Also how to separate and group different cards, the 480 and 580 are all in one group as Ellesmere8.

Thanks

run DeviceList.bat, it will generate an example GpuGroups value for all the devices you have
you can then edit it and put in the Config.ini file

an example RX580+RX480 groups would look something like (this also disables NVIDIA, since there is no NVIDIA group defined):
Code:
GpuGroups = [{"GroupName": "RX580s", "Type": "AMD", "Devices": "0,1", "PowerLimits": "0"}, {"GroupName": "RX480s", "Type": "AMD", "Devices": "2,3", "PowerLimits": "0"}]

If you leave "PowerLimits": "0", it will not be changed by Forager.

Regarding core/mem, since different algos work differently, I would recommend to use a memory timings mod, and undervolt gpu/mem (depends on your cards, but for me 1060 on gpu and 900 mem works great on rx480 with Uber 3.1 timings)

4ward, thanks for that, got the groups sorted.
Just a few more questions,
How to disable one gpu in a mixed rig
Am running a Vega 64, however it doesnt display the amount of watts it is using, but a nvidia card on the same rig does.
Also, when running AMD on afterburner it ups the power limit to +50, is this normal?

Thanks, sorry, but can you explain it a bit more easier (simple), as i cant quite figure out where to put my wallet address  Huh
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: MindMiner v2.104 - miner manager programm with autoswitch between Algos&Polls on: August 28, 2018, 04:11:22 PM
Of the pools selected, most of the time its mining on blockmasters. The algo and miner are listed as being on blockmaster being the most profitable..
The earnings for each pool down the bottom are listed, however most of the time blockmasters earnings is not listed even though it is selected and currently mining in that pool.
The other earnings are listed, but not always blockmasters.

Thanks will check out the ssd version and nVidia driver.
Am currently running 398.36 for 1080Ti, what version are you using?

Quake4, after benchmarking on the last update, i have had an error whilst benchmark on Phi2. All other algos were fine.
"DPC watchdog violation"

Any idea of the cause/fix for this?
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: MindMiner v2.83 - miner manager programm with autoswitch between Algos&Polls on: August 04, 2018, 12:03:01 PM
Quake4, is there a way to reduce the amount of CPU mining or threads, as i would like to CPU mine, however it utilises too much of the CPU and slows everything down.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: MindMiner v2.80 - miner manager programm with autoswitch between Algos&Polls on: August 03, 2018, 11:36:03 AM
Thanks, tried a few more times but not much luck on one of the rigs. Will try it on the other one later.
PL 65, Core +100, Mem 0
PL 65, Core 0, Mem 0
PL 85, Core +100, Mem 0
PL 85, Core 0, Mem 0

The first  three settings crashed as soon as it start, and the last setting the benchmark was almost complete, however it crashed also.
I will skip this algo for mining.

Thanks for all the updates and latest miners.

Try: PL 85, Core -100, Mem 0

Disable in algorithms.txt: "DisabledAlgorithms": [ "Phi2" ]

Thanks, disabled it on one rig, and the latest t-rex 057 benchmarked complete on the other rig with my standard overclock settings.

Quake4, I was benchmarking tonight after the latest update, and had two different rigs shut down whilst starting on Phi2. Is this algo sensitive to clock speeds and what do you recommend for 1080Ti?
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: MindMiner v2.26 - miner manager programm with autoswitch between Algos&Polls on: May 30, 2018, 01:15:29 PM
Well I installed it and gave it a twirl.  Nice and simple to use but while benchmarking and reading the readme I realized the benchmark doesn't mine for me. A real deal breaker for me since I'm always tweaking and re-running benchmarks.  The 1% mining fee is not bad but to take the entire bench is too much in my opinion.

Not sure why it would be a deal breaker, as you only have to benchmark once, and then it will automatically tweak and adjust your initial benchmark whilst mining that algorithm.
i’m wondering if you read my post lol

Haha, I am wondering if your read my post also?
No need to tweak and re-run anymore, it will gradually do it for you whilst mining that algo.
