Someone is going to do this. After the nano scam, this could surpass all if distribution is more even and trustworthy to the general public. Anyways, get going on that Github.

Hey all, I just updated StoneCurrency.org with the newest design. Is there an SVG icon by any chance? Also, can the community vote for a more decentralized distribution method for the world? More BTC & XRB Whales manipulating the currency may be detrimental to its long-term adoption and utility for the world's working class, which will keep it niched and useless to most of humanity as they adopt more equitable options. We should really consider Earn.com & Faucet options. Decentralized distribution is key. Would love to hear the community's thoughts. |

How can we trust you if you can't reveal yourselves? Have you seen all the scams lately? Even if you were to release this project, it still would mean nothing without that trust.

We should really try to distribute this more equally for humanity. This is the whole purpose. To distribute a quick, feeless, private & secure currency to as wide a diversity of humanity as possible. We can save human lives through this. Let's try our best to seize this opportunity for humanity. Also, I have an Earn.com account and we may be able to distribute Stone more equally through their new Airdrop program. They have over 100,000+ users and it's free for anyone to sign up. We can launch a campaign to distribute a majority of Stone only to those who "invite other users, perform labor for the project, or give back in other ways." The point is for STONE to succeed, not be a do gooder and make poor people more well off. Fair distribution is a very important point. I honestly believe the people holding XRB and BTC are more likely to make this coin succeed. I think either this is a charity coin or it is a currency. Nothing stopping people getting a few RaiBlocks while they are cheap and getting in on this or just donating a small amount to the donations page. Lets not involve a 3rd party and make things more complicated. If posters want to give to charity later, then they are welcome to but don't ruin this coin over it. Edit to add: I think if required, identity verification can be done to ensure that people are not double dipping. I just did just that for another coin and it works just fine. In Raiblocks, when there is a fork, balance-weighted vote is used to determine the outcome through use of representatives.
How would balance-weighted vote work in Stone? cos certain amount of balances will be shielded if zsnarks are used

OFF-CHAIN
Bob -> Alice
(zStone) Transactions -> (zStone) Received
SWAP
Alice -> Ted (Node) -> Alice
(zStone) Swap 1:1 -> Receive/Send -> (Stone) Received
Alice receives a private transaction from Bob via zStone, Alice now has 100 zStone, Alice now wants standard Stone, she swaps the 100 zStone for Stone 1:1 via a Stone node. The end result is Alice successfully has completed a private transaction with Bob, and swapped back into the base currency, all within the wallet, this method allows the DAG protocol to still function with its representative method.
Apologies in advance for the rough draft schematics, this is not anywhere near complete and is subject to change.
zStone would not be a separate currency and not tradable on an exchange, its simply the channel to achieve completely private transactions, with a swap 1:1 with Stone, they would not be worth anymore or any less.

From every possible distribution scenario, the one with a eg. $500 per Thread commenter/forum user sounds the fairest.
But let's see how and what the dev delivers first.
Sounds quite good to me too. Certainly sounds like a reasonable option to examine. We'll have to think of ways to protect this method from exploitation, however. We may need to start running community polls for each aspect of the project in due time, too. |

Thought I sent this earlier but I think I reached my post limit. The fact that this is a DAG and Privacy based one should not be understated. I think that should be front and center on the website! Both words should be there on the site. Also, I actually really liked the colortones/style from the first post. Gives it a bit more character. What do you think? All designs are a work in progress and I'm open to any designs the community prefers. Also, community members are free to create their own graphical interpretations of Stone and prospective sites. In regards to DAG and Privacy, I listed the latter feature on the front page, but I question whether or not most people know or care about what DAG is. I'm open to the community's opinion on this as well, and will update the site with more technical details of the project as it progresses. |

I respectfully disagree with any snapshot or another oligarchal distribution. Why fatten the Whales? We have a rare opportunity to be an everlasting currency for the World. Let’s make it as accessible to the working class as it is to the wealthy. If we don’t, Stone will just be another nichecoin. If we don’t do it, someone else wil. Only a matter of time.
No such thing as everlasting especially in crypto. Tech changes very very fast. It’s changing fast now, until more adequate currencies for the masses take hold. Why not maximize Stone’s potential utility with maximized accessibility? |

felixando: Also - this is a bit beyond my knowledge, but for zkSnarks do you need an initial setup? ZCASH - this is one of the big flaws: https://z.cash/blog/the-design-of-the-ceremony.htmlIt's kind of "hand-wavy" and very concerning for the currency itself. It doesn't seem like it's concern for privacy, though, but could be used to generate counterfeit currency. "The problem is, if an attacker were to get a copy of that corresponding private key, they could use it to create counterfeit Zcash. That is the only harm they could do with it — they could not violate anyone else's privacy nor steal other people's Zcash." Thoughts? EDIT: On a second thought, this probably wouldn't be an issue for DAG due to no-mining scenario? Although I'm new to following this topic but I beg to disagree with this. Those social media platforms should be handled by the core team members. Yes, I plan to transfer the accounts to trusted core team members when instructed. felixando: Will you be following a similar privacy mentality similar to monero?
With monero:
- Transactions, senders/receivers are private, amounts are private.
- The privacy is enabled by default - this is different from zcash model, for example. Zcash privacy is opt in, so people with private transactions are "under" suspicion of some sort.
- It's possible to get transactions with transaction hash and transaction keys.
- Monero has the concept of view key, which makes it easier to audit.
All those aspects are what will make or break this coin. At a minimum, anonymous transactions and balances need to be required and not given as an option. Indeed, a completely private feature set is pivotal for secure utility. |

In regards to distribution, I believe a non-exploitable faucet-like distribution method may provide the most efficient option to distribute stones to as wide a global reach of humanity as we can. There are many human beings living around the world where a quick & private currency may help save their lives.
