Thanks this worked! Got a 3 active connections so far.... but I'm 4 weeks behind now, so I guess this hasn't connected in a while (even though it's been up and running the whole time). Is viral just not smart enough to find/remember new peers on its own? or are there ports or something that need to be opened? Also, where does one find updated lists of these nodes? (My viral.conf file previously had 159 other nodes, likely from past times of this happening... but the ones you supplied were not in there)

My client constantly has trouble finding nodes... I've added a list of nodes in the past, but can't remember where. Could someone please provide a list of active nodes, and where I place them for the client to use?

This coin dead? I can't get a single connection to another node...

Just checked my wallet. wow, block rewards really took a nosedive... from 25 to fractions of a coin in a matter of a week.

Looks like you sent out all your viral in three transactions. Your staked blocks were included in those transactions. Then you only sent back two transactions of 500 viral each. Not sure why you think your staked coins should be in your wallet when you sent (spent) them.
-tb-
Thank you for the reply. My wallet shows 5 transactions of sending 500 coins back to the primary wallet, and 2 more that say "conflicted", as it appears that it tried to send coins that were already sent. So, by sending coins to myself (within the same wallet), my staked coins just go away? is that what you are saying? Apparently, something with my \AppData\Roaming\Viral folder was jacked... I copied my wallet.dat file and renamed the folder. I ran the wallet again and it re-synced and is now showing all of my coins! However, it is only showing 1 active connection to the Viral network now (before I was getting 16-18). Is there a way to get more connections? Go to the block explorer and get the nodes. Make a Viral.conf file and add the nodes, this will increase the # of nodes. I too had 1 connection under windows 7. Added nodes and have like 16+. Thanks, I found the list of nodes here: https://chainz.cryptoid.info/viral/#!network Copied them into a new Viral.conf file and placed it in my \AppData\Roaming\Viral folder. Launched the wallet and now I have several connections. Thank you!

HELP! I have a huge problem!
All of my staked/mined coins have disappeared! WTH is going on?!? I've staked/mined 13 blocks (all verified) and I only have my initial, purchased, balance left...
I dispersed my coins to different addresses within my same wallet, then sent them back to my primary address in chunks of 500... Now everything that I mined is GONE, but my purchased balance remains. All transactions have been verified and it has been over 24hrs... (There are no additional debit transactions that would explain the missing coins either!)
HELP!
Coins dont disappear dude. Relax. Take a few deep breaths and im sure someone who is a staking wizard will show up and figure this out with you. I'm trying to be calm, it's just frustrating... I mean, I don't have a fortune in coins, but there are 200 some odd staked/mined coins that are nowhere to be found. (apparently, I had 4 rejected blocks according to transactions... so only 9 valid staked/mined blocks) If it helps, here are the addresses: (According to the blockchain, I only have 1000 coins now, but the wallet says 5010) VWJFPwGDLvP5gUH59LBUPcebbT5PDZB2m1 (Primary) VDZQvabBeY9tmB5MJYo5ckF93kLLGBrTNY VVyjMNQDLWzKJBjVwzPwBgxhZFh7cdVk4Q VMaPRbBL2uHyyCV9ooG9XDNxiJUNRxtPmV
I'll sit back and I'll try my best not to punch a baby or small animal while I wait for help....

How many coin did you send to each addy?
around 1.5k There are a lot of people staking and 1.5K coins is a small amount.. Maybe speak to someone more up to date with staking but with only 1.5K coins you're probably not going to be staking a lot. I also am not really confident with staking, I guess I'll just put them all together again, used to stake around 25 coins per hour before splitting, I can't really complain thanks for the help! Someone suggested in slack that when you add a bunch of small despotis to your staking wallet that you stake more. I tried it and it does work. I tried lots of 200 and 500. Seemed to really pick up in lots of 500. Staking like a boss right now. Has anyone else tried this? results?

do I have to constantly lock / unlock the wallet for staking? or can I just leave it unlocked/staking will it continuously stake on its own?
If manual intervention is required, how do you know when to lock/unlock again?
Just leave it unlocked. thank you!

Still trying to get the hang of this... this is my first PoS coin. (and the price on C-Cex has already raised above purchase price... so, WOO HOO!! ) So, I have some coins, they finally matured. Wallet is unlocked and encrypted and says Expected time to earn reward is 6 hour(s). I assume I just let it sit there? after that 6 hours, do I continue to leave the wallet open or what? also, I linked a Twitter account, does that entitle you to a larger stake? does linking more than 1 twitter account have any effect on earnings/staking? Thanks in advance. If this has already been answered, could someone maybe pm me the info?

What he is saying is that this is a Proof-of-Stake (PoS) coin. You validate transactions, generate blocks, and receive block-rewards by staking coins in your wallet. So all you need to do is buy some coins, move them to your wallet, and leave it open and staking (don't forget to encrypt your wallet).
How long does it take for coins to be marked as "Mature" so that it can start staking coins? and do I need to link a twitter account to get more?

Pardon my ignorance... Can someone ELI5 how to mine this coin?
|
|
|
2 questions:
1) Is it possible to solo mine this coin? (if so, how? I have Antminer S1's)
and
2) Any ETA on when we can expect the new pool to be live?
|
|
|
The pool is closing will shut down completely on Wednesday. There will be one more payout before that
I've pulled my hashing power from the pool. Any ideas when the next payout is? as I haven't received any yet (even though my rigs found 17 blocks on SHA while on your pool.) XYyeJbi5JugvNThjya7NwMhkeXa5seZyP8 Hopefully the new pool will be better. Any ideas one when it may be functional?
|
|
|
I've been running ~500-600GH (SHA) for 48hrs now, found 16 blocks and didn't get a payment. I assume I will be included in the next payout? XYyeJbi5JugvNThjya7NwMhkeXa5seZyP8
It would be nice if the pool listed current accumulated payout amounts as well as what the minim payout is.
