1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ZEL] Zelcash : INNOVATIVE-INTELLIGENT-INSPIRING Cryptocurrency - zkSNARKs on: March 07, 2018, 08:39:35 PM
I think your comment is unfair.

Why do you think it is a scam? Have you attended any of the livestreams?
Do you even know what the vision of this project is?
Are you in their discord?
Or do you just want a masternode coin that promises 1000% ROI?

I have been mining this coin since the start and the team has always been prompt with their replies.
The team has also doubled in size since they started at the beginning of Feb.
Their wallet issues have been resolved with an online wallet and the mining issues have been sorted out as well.

This project is a work in progress.

Please elaborate on your frustrations before throwing around accusations.
What function on Wikipedia are you talking about?
They have not auctioned off any Masternodes like some of the other projects.

If you don't see where they are going, fine, but move along without bashing.

lets talk in couple of weeks or months when u are going to be mad with them...no offence but its totally retarded to support such a clear copy scam...
nothing new to the table just a money grab

In a few months we'll have a beta of ZelTrez, which without giving too much details is a game changer that will help with mass adoption of Crypto and give a solid platform for developers.  Besides that we'll have a working cross-chain platform with the introduction of ZelNodes all bundled under the umbrella of the Zel Foundation.  We've just added a new front end dev to revamp our websites further and are on the way to adding more developers for the back end and blockchain.  You may have heard there were some network issues, those have been greatly resolved through working together as a community with the mining pools currently on the project.

As to your claims of Zel being an obvious copy?  We are.  No one is saying anything different.  The value comes in the ongoing development.  Crypto is open sourced for a reason.  So that the entire world can see what's been done, how it's been implemented and continue to add and improve upon the work of all those who have come before.  I'm so impressed with how the team has handled themselves through a few glitches, the openness of the project in general and the communication to it's community.  Your entitled to your opinions but please try to inform yourself prior to posting negative thoughts without any real backing up of fact.

What happened to this project? I already mined a lot ZEL but it seems that i just wasted my hash and electricity. Is the dev still here to support this project?

I'm Elsewhere on the Zel Cash Discord.  We will be monitoring more frequently on this ANN thread in the future, it was discussed in the Dev meeting today and we need to do a better job of keeping up.  We have a very active Discord channel and didn't mean to overlook our friends here still monitoring the project.  We'll make an announcement here shortly on the progress we're making and our updated goals for the project.

I for one am very excited by the progress being made, new v3 wallet is syncing well, there are some tips for anyone still having problems or please visit our discord.  New wallets planned for MacOS among others.  We're working on the code base actively pushing forward for our Q3 deadline for Master Nodes and all the functionality that they will provide.  We also have a bi-weekly Saturday live meeting with the community to update progress, we've begun to tape these for reference on YouTube so anyone can watch at their leisure (next scheduled for Saturday March 3rd (time to be announced mid next week).  We're revamping the website and have several marketing campaigns in the works to get the more awareness.

Many thanks to the community, your criticism keeps us on point and your support makes us proud to be working with you.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / What GPU'S can I upgrade to with old CPU Build (Specs included) on: December 29, 2017, 10:11:34 PM
Trying to dip my foot in slowly before building an open air rig, my current laptop has been earning me 3 - 5 per day mining alt coins through nicehash (I know they got hacked, but I'm just testing anyhow), I have an Nvidia 1070m.  Plan is hopefully outfit the older gaming cpu with 3 new GPU's to start learning over next couple weeks before going for a full linux open air rig likely using simpleminer as the OS.  I haven't been following as well as I should have and have obvioiusly missed many upgrade rounds on this old CPU.  I'm just not sure if this could handle 3 1080 ti's haha, or if I should go for 1070 ti's or some combo there in.  I know 3 1080 ti's I'd likely just upgrade to an EVGA 1600 (so I could port that to my mining rig).  Would love to know if I can find some way to make that work, because then just 3 more 1080 Ti's and I can get the next rig started, use this old fart as my test bench potentially.  I am guessing however there may be a problem with the MoBo doing too well with these since it can't utilize DDR4 memory which from my research would help both 1070 ti and 1080 ti's.

My rig:

CPU: amd phenom ii x6 black edition 1100t
Mobo: ASUS ROG Crosshair V Formula Z
GPU: (WHAT DO YOU RECOMMEND) (current is AMD 6870 1GB lol!)
PSU: 800W Gold Cooler Master Silent Pro
Case: Coolermaster Haf X
RAM: G. Skill 1600 2x4 and corsair ram 8gb ddr3 (2x4gb) 1600mhz
Hard Drive: 240GB Samsung Pro and a bunch others.
OS: Windows 7 (guessing I'll need to upgrade to 10)

Let me know if there's anything else important, I'm guessing not, the CPU is water cooled (recirculating Corsair h100?)  but that doesn't matter unless it pops since CPU wont be doing squat.  Ambient pretty stable all year round at about 20 - 22 C.  If I could run the 1080 ti's but suboptimally due to lack of DDR4 access then maybe I could start with that until I'm comfy enough to build the next 6xGPU or 8xGPU rig.
