DAG file size only applies to ETH?  so i could mine RVN or non ETH  forever with 6gb card and not worry?
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: my next card on: July 25, 2019, 01:50:58 AM
1660ti is better at hash/watt.

that means 1660ti can be used longer.

but the 1660 is only 6gb while 1070 is 8gb
6gb isnt going to last long in mining right?
like 4gb cards now are useless soon 6gb will be too but have no idea when, might be useless in 2 months from now who knows
the 6gb is the thing most putting me off from getting a 1660 ti  i want it to at least be future proof
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / my next card on: July 25, 2019, 12:41:01 AM
hoping to add a new card to my rig, i like MSI's style so want to pick an MSI card but cant pick between the two what do you guys think?

msi gtx 1070 ti gaming
msi gtx 1660 ti gaming

i already have 2 1070 tis on my rig but is the 1660 ti better for mining? like use less power but still good hashrate?
or just stick to a 1070 ti im not sure what to pick
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: DAG file on 3 GB card Limit hit it seems . on: January 07, 2019, 02:42:30 PM
this is alarming, i`m mining with 4GB cards and if 3GB is at its peak now then  im not feeling too good about 4GB...
thanks for the heads up, i might consider upgrading soon

I`m not sure if your question is serious, but if it is then here is my answer:

this forum was made to connect bitcoin miners/users to each other, for people to learn, discuss and share opinions on how to mine, whatto fix, fixing rigs posting softwares wallets pools etc.

its also a place to talk about anything else, i am sure you can see the various sections of this forum we have offtopic gambling BTC altcoin help etc.

this forum is a place where creators (people who make pools and mining software) can show others their work.
people can discuss the bugs or features in them and make things better for the crypto world.

thats just my 2cents.

NOODLES
very easy to get and pretty cheap if you get plain non name brands, just add hot water + egg and spices to your liking
9  Other / Off-topic / Re: How to gain weight? on: November 14, 2018, 06:54:42 PM
eat a lot of lean meat, cooked beef, lamb etc. drink plenty of water ( real water not flavoured water or fizzy drinks or energy drinks) if your working out which i recommend, add protien shake to the water, or drink a mix of milk+protein powder.
eat natural foods with no added shit, for example, boring plain food with no added additives like sugar etc
examples of this could be:

breakfast:
oats+milk (add fruits for flavour and sweetness or cinnamon)
boiled eggs ( not fried)

lunch: protein bar or salad with tuna, try to get tuna with sunflower oil, the fat will help you.

dinner:
BOILED chicken breast or fish fillet haddock mackerel etc with SWEET potato (purple potato)

bedtime: cottage cheese and protein shake.

doing all the above + excising will help you increase your weight, you could always just eat plenty of junk fried food and get fat, but if you want real weight with muscle then do what i`ve mentioned and it will be fine.

remember you do not need to go to the gym or own a gym to get fit add weight or be healthy!

staying at home and working out is easy too, stick to the diet, do 20 press ups 3 x a day to work your upper body,
do 20 sit ups 3x a day to work your core
do lunges at home or squats with something with your hands ( a full milk bottle or something weighing 1kg+ would be perfect)

i hope this helps and good luck with your goals m8!  Cheesy

p.s you can not grow any taller after age of around 20+

i think i might be guilty of "misquoting" a few times, but now that i know about it i guess i wont make the mistake in future ^^
its nice to see people giving their two cents about how they would award merits and what to look out for.

thanks for the honest info m8 Wink
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What GPU to buy and what is up with proffitability calculators on: November 13, 2018, 02:05:03 AM

now is not really a good time to buy GPUs brand new, if you can get them used at a good price then fair enough, but making a whole rig of 1070tis/1080tis is costly and wont make you much profit right now!

first things first GPUs for mining altcoins, like a few people mentioned GTX 1070 TI and GTX 1080 TI are pretty much the main dogs for mining altcoins, they can BOTH mine a variety of altcoins, not just 1 coin like most ASICS.

if you want to save power and mine with low watt usage, i recommend 1070TIs, if you dont mind using a little more power in exchange for bigger hashrate, then get 1080TIs.

forgive my rudeness but you dont seem to know much about GPU mining, so the easiest way to start off is to mine with NiceHash, it will automatically select the most profitable altcoins for you to mine and convert them into BTC.
but if you dont want BTC and want to REALLY have those specific altcoins, then you have to download the wallet for specific alt[Suspicious link removed]gle altcoin name + wallet)
follow the instructions.

when i was new to mining this website helped me ALOT : https://thebitcoin.pub/t/bitcoin-beginners-help-start-here-ultimate-guide/27
also reading these forums taught me so much too.

one very important aspect of mining you need to know, you are ALWAYS learning, and you have to read alot and take in alot of information, sometimes you will feel like you dont understand, but dont give up! keep reading and learning and you could understand alot.

if you want to calculate a specific alt[Suspicious link removed]gle altcoin name + profit calculator) whattomine tells you pretty much most of the current coins to mine with value.

as for why calculators giving different results, could be what the other guy mentioned, you using 2 diff hashrates, or entered power usage wrong, i cant think of anything else.

if you want to know WHERE to find mining GPUs check your  Ebay,Amazon,NewEgg or local computer stores either in real life or online via webstore and search for : PC > Components > graphics cards > Nvidia

(btw i mine with nvidia cards so i just use that as i have no knowledge of radeon RX cards >< )

hope this helps Smiley
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Risers Recommendations on: November 12, 2018, 05:45:54 PM
Hey, what's up everyone, before I stopped my mining stations I used to have a problem with not all my GPUs working, and I'm pretty sure its the risers that I purchased, I wanted to know if you guys have any recommendations on to which risers I should get.

My Specs:
GTX 1070 (12)

Asrock 110 Pro BTC+

16gb ram

2 1300W PSU

i use GTX 1070 ti MSI gaming GPUs and they work with these risers i ordered:
https://www.amazon.com/MintCell-6-Pack-Powered-Adapter-Extension/dp/B06ZY2R85P/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1542044659&sr=1-1&keywords=MintCell+6-Pack+PCIe+6-Pin+16x+to+1x+Powered+Riser+Adapter+Card+w%2F+60cm+USB+3.0+Extension+Cable+%26+6-Pin+PCI-E+to+SATA+Power+Cable+-+GPU+Riser+Adapter+-

a previous set of risers i bought (in a 6pack) only 4 worked and the other 2 were faulty, it wasnt this brand though!
they all seemed to work for me
13  Other / Meta / Re: Short story about being merited…. on: November 12, 2018, 05:42:09 PM

Because of being promoted to Full Member I’ve decided to bump this thread for the first time.

It was written less than two months ago when I got my first merit (precisely 4 of them). I think that reading it may be good for many frustrated and tired low ranked users who already lost their hope or those who are loosing it at this very moment, that they are able to rank up with this “Fu...ng merit system”…
Don’t loose hope guys! It’s really possible!

you have given me a bit of faith  Grin
i wont give up Cool
14  Other / Off-topic / Re: hello random question about signiture on: November 11, 2018, 02:41:32 PM
wow i didnt actually think you meant there was a "meta" section of the forum, i was just looking in offtopic all the time, like i said i couldnt find it so needed some help. thanks for the direction.
i will lock this topic can be closed cheers Cheesy
15  Other / Off-topic / Re: hello random question about signiture on: November 11, 2018, 04:38:15 AM
ffs...

Lock this fucking thread. Take 2 seconds to find the 'clear' answer by taking a look around fucking meta.

Jesus fucking christ.

It doesn't take rocket science to figure out how this shit works.

you seem pissed off at my question, and your answer and didnt help in any way, you clearly didnt read my post.
i have LOOKED and could not find, so instead of flaming like an idiot point me in the right direction? Undecided

i read in an older topic (which i did not want to necro so i made THIS topic) that signatures were removed and require merits to make them visible, so merits how, make good posts etc, but who decides whats a good post? the mods? i will randomly get a good post merit in 1day or 10 years? seems awfully in the dark and quite random from the sounds of it.
and the replies in the other thread also were clearly confused at the changes made, so i have the right to be asking for a CLEAR answer, so please direct your anger somewhere else Angry

i dont see any way to award people merits on their posts etc, so this must be for VIPs only? or paid memberships? see many questions no answers so i will not lock this topic until i learn more about this hopefully someone with some insight can inform me, until then i will keep trying.

Of the credit, this pleasant thing, for which level of yours account on this forum can obtain raising.
How to get it?
1. Write quality posts on good and modern topics
2. Write without errors
3. Not offtop, write on topic

so how exactly do i give someone merit? i dont see any icons to award it
20  Other / Off-topic / hello random question about signiture on: November 09, 2018, 05:40:43 PM
how do i add a signature to my account?
i would like to support the pool i am mining on by using their logo but i cant seem to find where to edit my signature in the profile page.
after searching the forums it seems they removed the feature intil you gain merits, have no idea  what merits are can anyone help?
