1  Local / Italiano (Italian) / chiarimento su come vendere in modo da rispettare tasse e leggi on: June 17, 2014, 08:59:32 AM

The price can only go higher if things aren't somehow derailing due to something completely unforeseen.

well, if chips are being sold for $ which are then converted to BTC and distributed as dividends, the price of BTC going up (potentially) will have a downward force on dividends, thus on share price.

Infact, I remember reading here, last year, friedcat or someone else saying "miners make only sense to be priced in bitcoins", which makes sense since they will produce bitcoins... Why are they being sold for dollars now?

a "large sell" is actually a "large buy" if you look at it the other way around Wink

I too have lost alot (for me) due to my negligence. What I think could change the landscape significantly are rating agencies and decentralized exchanges.

Rating agencies are only as good as the people making the ratings.

of course, that's a triviality

weren't we organizing another round of questions to forward to friedcat? "future plans" should certainly be on there

9  Local / Italiano (Italian) / Re: Portale inglese Plus500 on: April 04, 2014, 12:36:37 PM

I agree that with five minutes of his time Danny could clear up a lot of things, but we've seen it in the past, he tends to not communicate bad news, which is very stupid IMHO. so I'm supposing there's indeed some bad news, maybe not a show stopper, but we'll only get very fuzzy details
12  Economy / Securities / Re: [NastyFans.org] NASTY MINING | POOL on: April 01, 2014, 03:38:36 PM
while we are on the topic, what about chips from AsicMiner? They should be testing the first batch and we'll probably know real specs and price in a few days, but the theoretical specs were about 0.3 J/Ghash and 0.5-1$/Ghash, which seems pretty competitive to me... of course this is for the chips only, full boards would cost more per Ghash

Generally speaking I must agree that I remain skeptical with the preorder economy: why should you effectively loan bitcoins with 0 interest and without any certainties on what you'll be getting and when?

Having said that, I must also agree that I know nothing about mining and OgNasty obviously knows a thing or two

Rockxie, I must say, you don't inspire a whole lot of trust with how you're managing this. So the shares that were to go on IPO were actually on sale elsewhere? and please update the OP so people don't have to go through 5 pages for nothing
16  Economy / Securities / Re: [ANN] [ROCKMINER] IPO Announcement - miners using GEN3 ASICMINER chips on: March 24, 2014, 06:48:00 PM
where will this operation be in 6 months, 1 year, 5 years? I mean, is the only purpose of this IPO to buy and assemble some (yet untested) gen 3 asicminer chips (and retain 80% of profit) or will it go on afterwards? how?
17  Economy / Securities / Re: [IPVO] [Multiple Exchanges] Neo & Bee - LMB Holdings on: February 26, 2014, 03:12:57 PM
Hi Danny,

There's been talk recently about the core devs becoming slightly overwhelmed, and the need for developers from Bitcoin firms to contribute back into the core code. Is there a possibility that Neo & Bee will use some funds to hire additional developers who can then help the core devs?

I would really like this, and asked about it some time ago:

Hi Danny, thanks for update, sounds awesome Smiley I was wondering, since your whole business depends on bitcoin which is an open source project, do you plan to "give back to the community" at some point in the future, like hiring a full-time bitcoin-qt dev?

To which Danny "answered" (he's very good at this political speak, making you believe he has answered your question, when he has infact not)

We do have our own ideas for CR on our part towards the Bitcoin community, such as a fee free pool to help decentralize the mining a little, our devs are interested in the open source community and will no doubt try and find time to help on the client etc.

EDIT: I DO find it amusing and unsettling that they still haven't hired a full-time bitcoin core developer, being that every bit of profit they'll ever make wouldn't have been possible without those developers

been out of the loop for a while... so, has the Nicosia main branch opened yet? Are there photos/testimonials of clients?

1. When you bought shares on Havelock, you bought passthrough shares. Every right that you assumed when you bought those shares remains. There was never an implication of converting, migrating, or managing your shares in any way unmentioned in the prospectus.

There was a lot of talk like "we will be creating our exchange or move to colored coins". True no one said it would be free, but neither that it would have a cost, and it seemed reasonable to assume the first.

Also, it's the first time I hear talking about passthrough shares; IIRC it was mentioned here in the past that Havelock and Bitfunder shares were not passthroughs, but "as real as you could get"

Quote
2. There is cost, time, and liability involved with facilitating the management of your shares. There are monthly fees to even exist on Havelock at all.

How has that anything to do with transfer fees? That would be an argument to justify having a percentage of dividends cut out, but not for transfering OUT of Havelock, thus if anything reducing those costs you mention for you.

Quote
3. Havelock shareholder records are backed up to multiple parties twice daily. No shareholder "needs" to move to direct shares. It is an optional service, and therefore, one with a fee.

I'm in for the long term, I don't care so much about liquidity and I don't want the counter party risk involved with Havelock. Of course I don't "need" direct shares but they would be very appreciated, since I thought that was what I bought.

Quote
5. The fees also serve as "friction" to prevent people from abusing the service and to curb overwhelming customer service needs. People should only really be moving shares when they want to sell them, or if they feel safer storing them with Neo.

Then do as I suggested: first time it's free, then there's a fee. So you have the friction AND you show appreciation to your early investors.

EDIT: my bad, I saw now that btct.co and havelock shares were allways mentioned as passthroughs, and bitfunder were the direct ones. What about people who bought IPVO (not traded) shares in the period when there was only Havelock? How were they supposed to buy direct shares?
20  Economy / Securities / Re: [IPVO] [Multiple Exchanges] Neo & Bee - LMB Holdings on: December 12, 2013, 05:35:44 PM
Since the thread is now calm, unlike last week, I'll bring this up again: I think that for first transfer Havelock->lmb-holdings there should be no fee.

I bought Neo shares on Havelock the first day of the IPO, and I don't see why I should pay an additional fee to have them on the official platform, which was not avaible back then. If the shares I bought on Havelock are "real", then why do I have to pay a fee for having them validated by lmb-holdings?

It would seem reasonble to me that the lmb->Havelock has a fee, since exporting your shares on a non-official platform with more liquidity is indeed a service TAT is offering, but not the other way around. Instead it's exactly the opposite! I would like to hear your (TAT's and Danny's) reasoning on this
