Promote and share the greatness of bitcoin community and its superior currency solution. Please donate bitcoin to the project here 1HNNi6EPCxRsHUpGESZXoFr9qpWqiLeY8L If you do donate you can request to put any image you desire on the Craft that takes bitcoin flag into space: Logos ,Pictures you name it We will put it into SPACE Email all images to be placed on craft to support@bitcoinsniper.com include your email address in donation Limited space on Craft So donate Now Launch will take place in April 2014 or later depending on weather The launch into space will be recorded in High definition and craft will have 4 cameras mounted on it. Two of which will record the hull as it reaches space. More info Here: http://www.bitcoinsniper.com/contact-us/about-us/bitcoin-space-race/Want to be apart of the project let me know. Have some good ideas Let me know What will the launch vehicle be? The plan is to have more than one wether balloon. One to ascend and the second to descend. We want maximum time in the stratosphere and want 100% control throughout the entire mission so we will have controlled thrusters . This mission will a lot of fun but more importantly will thrust bitcoin further into greatness and main stream attention Forgive me for doubting the ability of someone who can't spell "weather" to send a balloon to the edge of space. Even ignoring that fact, advertising this as sending something to "space" shows a lack of understanding at best, dishonesty at worst. Finally, even if this did happen, it would get about as much attention as any one of the hundreds of other weather balloons that have been launched with a gopro attached, which is just short of none at all.

Not too many people on this forum are going to give you advice without putting their own priorities first. What I mean by this, is that this forum is full of parasitic scumbags, many of whom would love to encourage you to make the wrong decision for their own benefit. In fact, you've probably already received PMs from plenty of them offering to scam you in one way or another. Asking for any kind of financial advice here is asking for trouble.
Judging by the precise number of $41k, I'm guessing you're probably stretching to be able to free up that amount to "invest". If that's the case, don't invest that much.

I'm just trying to figure out how they got to my cavirtex account. They send an email whenever you connect from a different device, and I did get an email at a time when I didn't login and I changed my pass at that point, so how could they still have got in? So frustrating, I had just put my BTC there to cashout after all that hard work. Really people that do this stuff have black hearts and I really hope bad karma bites them back in the ass. Now i have to start back from scratch, and to think it was going to pay my debts off. Words just can't describe the disappointment. :S
How secure was your password (be honest with yourself)? Never use the same password for multiple sites or purposes. Consider ordering a yubikey as well.

So sorry for your loss. Sounds like you might have a keylogger... what have you been downloading?
Just other alt coins. How can I detect a keylogger? I have AVG Free and haven't had any warnings, is there better software I can use? Thanks for the input. Malwarebytes is decent, but as with everything else, won't catch everything, and unfortunately the shitbags who do stuff like this are always going to be slightly ahead of the game. Which is why a full system wipe is recommended. Agreed.

You should consider keeping your important (e.g. bitcoin/litecoin/namecoin/etc) wallets on one virtual machine, and running new/shady alts in another. I'm actually surprised more people don't do this, as it would prevent 99% of the theft incidents I've seen.
Never use either of those virtual machines to browse the web or do anything else outside of working with those wallets. Never install any software that you don't absolutely need on them.

it's not so many spam if you get used to it, I see bitcointalk as a crosstype of a forum and a chat so everyone is expressing their minds in short posts but longer then in a chat room if you know what I mean? So, that makes it ok? Do you try to sell something to every single person you talk to in real life, or beg them to go to a store and drop your name so you get a kickback?

Because even after being hacked and losing your money, some of you are dumb enough to put more money in the same exchanges being run by grade school children. Those grade school children enjoy your money, and will continue to take it by putting together exchanges.

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
Bitcoin is nowhere near achieving the status you delusional nutjobs have convinced yourselves it has reached. If anything, Bitcoin is receding in popularity, and will continue to do so as more people see the insane fantasyland most people involved with crypto believe they are living in.
I realize your desire-for-money receptors have forcibly disabled your logic centers, but come on...

...less than 6 months of experience...
Then maybe you shouldn't be playing with anyones money.

I just saw all the posts about this exchange. I can't believe this person is already re-opening it. Hope none of you who are stupid enough to deposit money at this point end up losing it.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised that most of the responses came from people who are so desperate for money that they add advertisements to their signatures. Bumvertising at it's finest.

First, I laughed.
Then, after realizing this thread wasn't intended as a joke, and many of the people in it actually believe this stuff, I stopped laughing.
Then, after seeing people complimenting each others' intelligence, I started laughing again.

I was talking with a corporate farm owner that had invested 500k into 1st gen mining equipment which only did double digit Gh/s, now they're stuck and can't afford to get the single digit Th/s due in 2014.
This makes absolutely no sense, unless the "500k in 1st gen mining equipment" happens to have been block erupters purchased in the past 2 months @ $100/ea.

Either this forum is full of trolls and incredibly gullible marks, or this forum is full of total morons. I hope it's the former.
Drop out of college with your 0.5 bitcoins so you can watch your "investment" grow, then go knock your cousin up and name the incestual lovechild dogecoin! Good idea.
By this time next week, you'll be able to live happily ever after on your yacht with your sisterniece colgate and daughterwife dogecoin after your 0.5BTC becomes worth infinity dollars.

After visiting some crypto forums, it's hard to continue to believe that only intelligent people are involved with bitcoin. Actually, it's hard to believe that there are even very many intelligent people involved with bitcoin.
Half of these people have the communication skills of nigerian 419 scammers at best... and many seem to have similar intentions. It's amazing to me that any of them are even able to copy and paste an address to receive stolen or begged-for coins at.

|
|
No sense you make... but don't worry, someone will probably find a way to steal your coins long before you have to worry about dying with them.

It seems like 95% of the crypto 'community' has only one goal... to sell you whatever garbage someone will pay them $2/month to shill. It's pathetic. Reminds me a lot of this: http://www.bumvertising.com/

soniq,
I re-sent you a message I originally sent in November and never heard back on... wondering what's going on with the 0.2154BTC overpayment from the GB still owed back to me. Please reply when you can.

Newegg's customer service is awful these days. It looks like their ability to do some basic research on what their customers are using their purchases for is just as bad.
