Gizmoh, let me know if you find someone looking to buy 100 and I can make up the other half of the order.
I've got 54 Z9 Minis (batch 2) complete with PSUs and all power cables for sale located in VA.
3  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: IBM 2880W PSU/Breakout Boards - *NEW* Package deals for T9/S9 & A7 on: September 25, 2018, 08:34:47 PM
Thats really sad to hear. I was either going to buy more, or I might sell all my gear off and close down.

If he really is out I might start selling off my kits. I've got a bunch of used full 2880 kits that Ive had in use for a while now. And quite a few spares.

I'll wait for our man to chime in first before I start selling over his head. Im curious how soon he's going to be before he starts selling again. Or is he gone for good? I hope he's working on a comeback. His 2880 kits saved me countless hours dollars and headache over using traditional PSU options for sure.  Grin

I'm in the market for a kit or two and/or breakout boards for these PSUs if anyone's liquidating. Thanks.

One of my board is not present or dies after overclocking at 750......they use to go ok for 1 week at 700   and when i try to jump at 750 1 board crash...So i put back the original firmware to try to repair it and nothing change...i wonder if it s the hashboard or the controler board....Any soluce?

Thanks a lot

It's a trial and error process. Your ultimate results will depend on which batch you purchased, how cool you're keeping the miner/room, and some luck. To troubleshoot, I always first reboot the miner and keep an eye on it. If it can't hold the freq that it used to be able to handle, then I try to figure out what changed. In all of my similar situations, the change was always the temperature in the room (one time I moved a miner to a hotter location, another time the A/C went out). Once I got the miner back to the same room temperature conditions it was in before, it worked like before. These boxes are a little finicky at the higher freq.

Hello guys, I have received yesterday my Innosilicon A9 , how I can power up the Fan Huh It work only at 30% max, how I can do it ?? Thanks
I would suggest reading through this entire thread starting at page 1. You will find all of the information on how to SSH into the miner, what the password is, the exact things to type, everything. There are various settings you can change in the config file, but the only one I've seen actually affect the miner is the fan percentage setting.

What is the default freq for batch 2? 500mhz or 550??

Most (but not all) batch 2 units have the new firmware - the new firmware has only one setting in the advanced performance drop down menu that says "balanced." That setting equates to a frequency of 500 MHz.

Report from a Discord thread about the new firmware:
"Tuning is way different on new firmware. Unless I didn’t notice this before, we now have balance, balance ++,factory, performance-, performance, and performance+. Tuning to performance+ now. I was getting a steady 52Ksol at factory."

New Firmware 20180828 available (didn't try it).
Here's hoping it will solve the memory reboot/shutdown issue. I was an early adopter of the last firmware version and was disappointed that it didn't fix that. If anyone tries this one, please report. Thanks!

...i will give you some merits to push you forward. best of luck.

Thanks zuzuca, I appreciate it.

ok..this is something..but has anyone put it to work and measured the sound levels? i would for sure use another psu if their sounds like a helicopter. 60 db is ok if this is true.

I use an HP 750W server PSU with my A9 and set the performance setting to "performance." (No other setting changes.) My sound meter shows a constant 49 db for the A9 and PSU together. Put another way, this thing is really quiet.
When it first boots up, it is loud because the fan ramps up to 100% or something. But then it settles down to 15% and the 49 db level.

Just wanted to report my findings on NanoPool, as I haven’t seen any other anecdotes.
Averaging 52Ksol to 54Ksol.
Running “Balanced”.
Much higher hashrate than FlyPool where I’m seeing 8-9% HW errors.

I've done ZEN on zhash.pro (good experience), ZEC on flypool (minimal rejects and good experience), ZEC on dwarfpool (massive rejects), and am right now doing ZEN on luckpool with a 52-54 kSol average and 0% rejects. I've played with mining a single coin at a single pool, and also using Awesome Miner to profit switch between dwarfpool and luckpool.

My struggle so far with profit switching is a) finding good pools that have solid hash power going and that have proportional payouts, and b) losing a bit of time while the miner ramps up after a switch. The more you switch, the more time you lose. The less you switch, the less benefit you get from the profit switching method. Additionally, dealing with three different coins complicates my own calculations of daily efficiency and profitability versus just one and done.

I'm always happy to try out possible better options - what is the URL and port you're using for an ASIC on nanopool?

That's disappointing to hear.  I have the same issue and was hoping the new firmware fixed the problem.  I have a smart plug too, but not an ideal solution.  Sad

TeamCheck script finally got tested. and failed! I updated with a fix. Tested working!

One issue though. They went down at the same or close to the same time. Im not sure one had time to save the other. I may have a decentralization issue  Roll Eyes
Aw well. Ill leave them running. But I think I better run a check from my PC as well. I guess ill try and figure out the windows CURL command syntax issue or run from VM with a small linux, in case they do go down at the same time.

Hows it going with the new firmware guys? Fix the issue? Im gunna update after a nap. I need to redo all the script files if I do. so more than a couple of clicks and im tired.

I installed the new firmware on Aug13 and my A9 still stopped hashing/went offline the other night. Lost about 6 hours of mining while I slept. A9 was still on, but pool showed the miner missing and I couldn't access the box with a browser. Requires a power off-power on reboot every few days when this happens.
I had hoped the new firmware would have fixed that issue but I guess I'm going to have to use the smart plug I bought and figure out the IFTTT method of having the switch reboot when the box goes dark.

I had two hashboards doing ~17 kSol/s each and one doing about 6.5 kSol/s. I contacted Innosilicon support via email with a screenshot of the summary page and they agreed that hashboard was bad. They gave me directions on how to send it back to them and said that when they received it, they would send me a new one. I followed their instructions on packing, took it to a DHL Express office, and sent it off. It's supposed to arrive to them in a couple of days. That shipping cost ~$100.

It's difficult to lose 6.5 kSol/s, but presuming I get a 17 kSol/s one back "soon," it will be worth it in the long run to take the hit of lost Sols+shipping cost now. The great thing about these ASIC boxes is that they can run without all of their cards (and interestingly, the controller board has more connectors so presumably one could add more boards to it). So it's at least still running at an avg 34-35 kSol/s which right now is getting me about 0.3 ZEC/day.

Whole situation just kind of stinks is all. Any hiccup has an opportunity cost (and with shipping, real cash costs too) so starting out with problems on an expensive box certainly takes some of the wind out of the sales. I feel for you guys with worse situations than this.

I've been running at 35% for the past few hours and my temps are 49, 49, 50.

My main problem is card #1 has only run at 6-7 KSols all day regardless of performance setting or overclocking (the other two cards run at a decent 16-17 KSols). I'm thinking I've got a dud card. Sad

I'd contact inno and start troubleshooting if you can spare the down time, but get the ticket in asap.

Thanks for the suggestion, minefarmbuy. Inno support told me that one hashboard is bad and I need to send it back to get a new one. Thankfully it doesn't look like they want the whole machine - just that one board. It'll be tough to give up even the 7 KSols it's doing while waiting for a 17 KSol replacement, but it'll probably be worth it so long as they can turn something around to me within a month or so. We'll see.
